The East African Union was formed as recompense, with its headquarters located in Tanzania. However, it never effectively united the three countries.
This time, the other heads of state have bailed out on their own. The most probable cause seems to be our 'settler bill'.
I don't think this bad at all. Mzee is not panicked either.
Kenya needs to prioritize dealing with its internal issues before joining any regional blocs. As such, it is currently impossible to form an impartial East African Union, and imperative we get on our campaign trail.
First, we hit Oginga's hometown Bondo, in Nyanza. A region in western Kenya bordering Lake Victoria. This area is mostly settled by the Luo, an ethnic community that reveres Oginga as King.
In 1963, Luo's were the second largest tribe in Kenya.
The original history had Mzee as President pelted with stones after visiting this place. What followed was a punitive massacre that ordained the onset of divisive politics.
And then we stop by Kapenguria. This small-town settlement is where the colonial government relocated Mzee and five other freedom fighters for a speedy, unjust trial.
Amongst the Luhya ethnic community, rumors abound of how Masinde Muliro, a freedom fighter visited Mzee in prison and warned him of the white man plans for his life.
After his release, Mzee repaid the favor by disregarding the entire matter.
That won't happen again. Let us see to it all those freedom fighters are properly rewarded by the Land Management Bureau.
Finally, we tackle Central Kenya, home to the most populous ethnic community in Kenya, the Kikuyu.
Also, this region is home to the 'white highlands', a spread of highly productive large-scale commercial farms owned by white settlers.
Right now, 'MauMau' terrorize settlers in this area, basing operations inside its forests. And herein lies another bitter memory in Kenya's original history.
After Independence, these freedom fighters cited frustrations with Mzee's land redistribution efforts. They refused to disarm and returned to the forest.
Mzee mobilized a punitive force, drew them out with false promises, and wiped them out.
The most valiant of Kenya's freedom fighters ended by their own kin! A history yet to be set right, until now.
If these challenges are conscientiously resolved, Kenya could advance in most sectors, ahead of many post-independence African states.
