Hugo was genuinely kind of upset that he didn't get an answer from Varian, it made him embarrassed that he even thought to be vulnerable around someone. But he should've known that Varian was scared, though he also hurt him, barely, but he still wasn't unscathed. Then, he heard a sinister voice sinking into his head. "Hugo.. Would you like to have more power than you can possibly imagine??" It asked. He shakily gasped as shadows began to burn his skin. "N-No.. G-Go away.." He whispered. "Oh.. You're so naive boy, do you really think that the Prince likes you back? Varian never loved you, Hugo, and he never will.." Nebulus taunted. Hugo's eyes widened while they swelled with tears. "That's right, give into the darkness.." The voice hissed. The shadows wrapped around Hugo tighter, his emerald eyes turning a terrifying obsidian. He fell to his knees, struggling to resist. That was when Cass came out from her tent to see Hugo's possession taking place. "Oh frick.. Hugo!!" She shouted, "Vari! Eugene! Come out here!" Eugene and Varian stumbled out of their tents, watching Hugo in pain. "No.. Hugo! Fight it!!" The Prince begged. But instead, he stood up and sent dark magic at Varian's chest, knocking him back. "Vari!" Cassandra cried out. "C-Cassie.. It burns.." He whimpered. Meanwhile, Hugo and Eugene were fighting against each other, but then Eugene said, "Cass, I need some help here!" She looked back at Varian with sad eyes, but she knew she had to protect Eugene, she just hoped that he would be okay. Suddenly, both Cassandra and Eugene got hurt by Hugo, leading them to go unconscious. "No.. Eugene! Cassie!" Varian shouted. He ran to their side, only for the possessed Hugo to grab Varian by the neck, shadows wrapping around him. "H-Hugo.. P-Please.. I.." He gasped. "You what?! I know it'll be a lie, you don't really like me, you just hate to be alone!" Hugo snarled in his distorted voice. Prince Varian was hurt by the comment, but ignored it and admitted, "I love you too Hugo, and I'm so sorry for saying otherwise!!" He paused and let go of the Prince, breaking from the possession of Nebulus. His eyes became that gorgeous emerald hue once again, seeing Varian shaking in fear. "Frick.. I-I'm so sorry.." Hugo said quietly. "No, it's okay, you didn't realize what you were doing.. I know exactly what it's like to accidentally hurt someone you care about.." The Prince encouraged. They looked at each other softly before they leaned in and kissed each other. "Vari??" Cass asked. He tensed up and saw that Cassandra was wide awake again, staring in shock. Varian blushed in embarrassment, trying to hide, "Umm... It.. This is nothing.. I didn't.. Ugh, fine, you saw that correctly, just please don't tell anyone, I'm still unsure about myself with.. that.." He stammered. "No, I get it, I know how uncomfortable it is to be in the closet while your still figuring it out, I can keep this hidden." She assured him. "Thanks Cassie." Prince Varian mumbled. Cass just looked at Hugo, teasingly saying, "But then, on the other hand.. SHIIIIIIIIIP." Varian glared at her mouthing, "SHUT. UP." Hugo just laughed softly, now holding his hand. He turned his head back at Hugo, feeling empowered by their shy smile before they both kissed again, the sunrise behind them.. TO BE CONTINUED..
