The Headmaster walked silently into the grand, spiral library of the Holy School. Dust floated in the air like memories, and the scent of old magic clung to the bookshelves. He searched for a book named "Root of Life." After a while, he found it, its cover glowing faintly with runes. He turned to page number 8.
On that page, it was written:
"When the Creator divided the two worlds Human and Magical an ancient rule was made: No human or magical being could travel between them.
It became impossible to even locate the human world for magical beings, and vice versa.
Even if someone located it, an invisible magical wall prevented travel.
Anyone who touched the wall would die instantly regardless of how powerful they were.
Magical beings were not strong enough to break the loop.
But a group of human scientists managed to crack the error.
Human intelligence had reached the level where they could even break the laws set by the Creator."
The Headmaster was shocked.
All his life, he had believed magical beings were far superior to humans. How could they have missed something so vital in the laws of nature? Humans couldn't cast spells, teleport, or kill with curses yet somehow, they had done the impossible.
He turned to the last page and noticed something odd. The book was still being written letters appearing on their own.
The author's name was written: Mindil Stoone.
An address followed: Chindi, 12 O'Clock.
He whispered a spell: "Tookta, Chindi, 12 O'Clock."
In an instant, he was transported to a forest at the school's border. Teleportation spells only worked within the school, so this location must have been just outside. He plucked leaves from a tree, whispered another spell, and the leaves expanded into a platform. Climbing aboard, he soared into the sky.
After a long journey, he reached Chindi. The sun was about to set. The house at 12 O'Clock was strange it floated in the air like a tall, long hat. Smoke rose from the chimney, suggesting something was cooking. A magical circle surrounded the house.
As he crossed the circle, smoke burst from the ground and formed into a cloud. From the cloud, a face emerged, then faded away revealing Mindil Stoone.
Mindil appeared to be about 40 years old, his voice deep and wise.
"Why are you here?" he asked. "Is there something I can help you with?"
"Yes," replied the Headmaster.
Mindil raised his hand, and in a flash of light, they were transported inside the house.
