"Wait Ave! Please don't go!" Riley ran after her.
She caught up with her just before she could cross the gate.
"Let go, Riles! I'm not going to stand here and allow your cousin to insult me. He's the one with the problem. Yet, he is pouring his anger out on me? What did I do to him?! I even came here to support him. What more does he want?!" She raised her voice in total frustration.
"I get it, Ave. You're pissed, and rightfully so. But please, you have to reach into your soul for the compassion you're known for. Atlas is going through one of the worst times of his life. He has two reactions to difficult times. Complete shut down and avoidance, or chaotic spree. Please, stay. For not just his sake but also the fact you're carrying his children."
"She's right, Ave. Listen to her please," Meredith added.
Aveline was still not completely convinced. She felt bitter, but in a way she couldn't explain to anyone else.
