Aveline walked back to her taxi, with Mr Lee beside her.
"It's still so shocking to me that Henry Parker is your father, Aveline. I always thought when Nora Lyon kept bringing in paintings after paintings from him, it was because he had no surviving family. I would never have guessed the plot was this sinister."
"I know. It's hard to believe it myself. Nora was such a good friend of the family. I was practically in love with her son. He went on vacation with my family. It just goes to show you can never truly know people's hearts."
Mr Lee opened the door for her to go in. "I will make sure that I do my best to bring this foul play to light," he said as he shut the door after her.
"Thank you so much for giving me a listening ear. I am fully ready to cooperate in any way you deem fit."
"I'll keep in touch, Aveline."
The car drove off, and Aveline pulled out her phone to go through it when her temple began to throb again.
Her hand went to the spot it hurt, and she rubbed gently.
