Chase didn't fall asleep right away.
Instead, he entered his Deck Space.
Something Mistgun had just said made him realize a very important issue one that, up until now, had completely slipped his mind.
After defeating Jose, aside from resting and handling the Magic Council's mandatory investigations, most of his focus had been on developing and mastering Magic Card Fusion. As a result, he'd completely overlooked another, far less obvious gain.
As new cards are added… his magic power also increases.
Inside the Deck Space
This world was much like the Celestial Spirit Realm, an independent dimension. But unlike the sprawling, chaotic ether of the Spirit World, this place was neatly divided by shimmering golden borders into distinct, floating regions.
When card monsters weren't summoned, they wandered freely within their own territories.
Each zone carried its own unique atmosphere and identity.
For instance, the City-Guarding Pterosaur resided in a majestic, ancient fortress; Summoned Skull lived in a realm steeped in shadow and brimstone; and the Knight Trio made their home in a dazzling palace of silver banners and marble floors.
The place where Lucy had napped during their last stay on Karna Island? That was merely the bedroom of the pink-hued castle belonging to the Dark Magician Girl.
Chase's manifested consciousness hovered mid-air, looking down at the sprawling, spectacular world below.
Sensing his arrival, a beam of soft pink light zoomed out of the pink castle.
"Hiya, Master~ Did you come to visit me?" the Dark Magician Girl asked, fluttering her eyes with a practiced wink.
Even though Chase's magic had mostly recovered, the Dark Magician Girl had been "sent to the Graveyard" during the battle against Jose as part of a sacrifice. She still needed time before she could be normally summoned again meaning she couldn't yet return to the real world.
And even if the cooldown period ended, Chase had no intention of letting this overly hyper girl out anytime soon.
After all, the Magic Council's interrogation phase had only just begun.
"No," Chase replied coldly.
Thump.
Still striking a cute pose, the Dark Magician Girl tumbled face-first, her body flipping upside down before slowly floating back up again. Her round cheeks puffed up like overripe berries.
She was sulking.
"Alright, alright, I came for serious business," Chase said, easily seeing through her act. Even so, he still reached out and patted her head beneath her large, pointed hat.
The Dark Magician Girl giggled, snuggling into the touch but then her eyes blinked wide open.
"Wait… serious business?"
"Yes," Chase replied, his gaze lifting upward. He raised a finger and pointed toward the sky above the Deck Space a storm-wracked region where light and shadow clashed, streaks of lightning danced in tangled spirals, and raw chaos surged through the air.
"I want to see if I can open that area."
The moment she heard him, the cheerful look on the Dark Magician Girl's face disappeared.
Her pupils shrank. Her breath quickened.
Because that region wasn't just any sealed zone…
It was the Realm of the Gods.
"I see. Although it's still a bit of a stretch, Master, your magic power is much higher now than when you first returned to Fiore. It's definitely worth a try."
A black robe fluttered slowly, and the Dark Mage appeared beside Chase at some point.
At this moment, he crossed his arms across his chest, gazing solemnly at the oppressive chaotic space high in the sky.
Due to his own strength limitations, even though Chase is the master of the deck, he cannot freely travel between all card monster areas.
For example, the eight-star Black Magician of Chaos.
Before Chase went to the Kiltina continent to carry out his ten-year mission, the area where the Chaos Black Magician was located was completely closed.
Rather than being a restriction, this is more like a self-protection mechanism of the plug-in: giving a three-year-old a big knife that he can't swing at all, and the only one who can be hurt is himself.
In other words, only as Chase can open the chaotic space and get in touch with the sky dragon inside, he will be truly qualified to summon God!
"Let's try it."
After exchanging glances with the Dark Mage and the Dark Mage Girl, Chase took a deep breath and slowly closed his eyes.
After a brief silence, when he opened his eyes again, his aura suddenly changed, and his magic power rose at an extremely fast speed.
Buzz!!
A dark golden pillar of magic light exploded, surging into the sky and crashing heavily into the chaotic space.
It takes time, the wind rages, the lightning arcs shoot, and the low and heavy thunder resounds throughout the entire card world!
Ripples appeared on the surface of the chaotic space, and under the continuous flushing of the dark golden torrent, with a "click", a void crack appeared from top to bottom.
An ancient and sacred aura permeates the depths of the crack, and one can vaguely glimpse the doomsday scene of lightning and thunder inside.
Click.
A sharp claw protruded from it, followed by a double row of healing teeth inlaid with blue gems, and a pair of sharp and ferocious golden pupils!
Without any verbal communication, Chase, as the absolute holder of the deck, only needed to look at the Sky Dragon and he understood all of the other party's thoughts and ideas.
As he withdrew the magic communication, the cracks in the chaotic space slowly closed, and the vast and surging divine aura of the Sky Dragon dissipated.
The deck space returned to calm.
"How is it?" The Dark Magician Girl came closer with surprise in her eyes.
The moment the sky dragon appeared, she hid behind Chase at the speed of light.
Although the Dark Mage's reaction was not as exaggerated as his apprentice's, the strange glint in his deep eyes also showed his strong curiosity.
Chase just collected his thoughts and turned around, and was immediately shocked by the scene around him.
Not only the Black Mage's Apprentice, but also the City Guard Pterosaur, Cursed Dragon, Chestnut Ball and other card monsters all gathered around. Even the Chaos Black Magician, who was not interested in anything except magic, was among them!
But if you think about it carefully, it is normal. After all, he is a real "God" -"
Incidentally, those without the ability to fly were all standing on the shoulders of the giant rock soldiers, looking over here with their heads tilted upwards.
Looking at the card monsters with eyes full of anticipation, Chase waved his hand and sighed heavily.
"It still doesn't work." The Dark Magician Girl seemed a little disappointed.
"If it's just summoning… there wouldn't be any major issue," Chase said, scratching the back of his head with an awkward smile. "But even with my current level of magic power, it'd be drained almost instantly."
"Then what's the point?" the Dark Magician Girl huffed, clearly losing interest.
"That's not necessarily true," the Dark Magician replied calmly, his voice deep and composed.
He had already noticed the faint curve at the corner of Chase's lips and after thinking over what had just occurred, he quickly pieced it together.
"…I see."
The Dark Magician of Chaos gave a subtle nod from the side, having also sensed something.
"Ugh what is it already?" the Dark Magician Girl cried out in frustration, tugging at her hair.
Among the three, she was the least experienced. She absolutely hated when her master gave half an answer and left the rest hanging in the air like some cryptic riddle.
"Even though I can't keep the Sky Dragon summoned for long," Chase finally said, stepping forward with a chuckle, "the moment I made contact with the Chaos Realm, a link was established between us."
He looked down at her with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"That means I can borrow some of the Sky Dragon's power just like I channel the abilities of the rest of you."
"Or in the words of Natsu and the others…"
Chase raised a hand, his fingers sparking faintly with residual lightning from the chaotic sky.
"This is Sky Dragon's God-Slaying Magic!"
