Kyra's POV
No! No! I couldn't let anyone ruin my plans. Yes! I had expected this to happen, since I knew that Kieran and Nathan were both VIP guests at this event. I had planned for this moment carefully, but seeing the man I still loved standing in front of me with eyes full of happiness and longing made my knees weak.
"Kyra..." Nathan's voice was barely a whisper.
I pushed him slightly away and forced my features into a confused expression, thankful for the special scent-blocking spray I'd been using since my return.
"I'm sorry, sir. Do I know you?"
"That's it! You're doing well, Kyra. You need to disregard your feelings for the sake of your freedom and your daughter's safety. As long as Kieran is on the loose, you can't guarantee your baby's safety," Sylvia's voice in my head praised me for pretending not to know Nathan.
