Chapter 97 - Gege

"Gege…" A small voice came out softly in the busy airport. She tugged at the lower hem of his shirt, her tiny fingers barely curling around the fabric.

He turned slightly, feeling the tug. His brow furrowed as he saw the faint flush on her cheek. "What is it?"

"I'm tired," she murmured, blinking up at him with eyes too big for her small face. "Can you carry me?"

The boy sighed, pretending to be annoyed and irritated. "You're almost five, about to turn six. Why can't you walk by yourself?"

She pouted, her lower lip trembling just slightly. "But my legs hurt."

He stared at her for a long moment, assessing her until his heart wavered—just a little. Her small frame, smaller than most children her age, reminded him that she wasn't as healthy as she was supposed to be.

Which made him like to pamper her.

Without another word, he bent down and turned his back toward her. "Come on."
