After school, Savannah waited at the bus stop when Ryan came and waited at the bus stop too. Savannah saw him and moved away from him in fear.
What are you doing?, Ryan asked. Nothing, Savannah replied. Are you sure cause you look like you are scared of me, he said and moved closer to Savannah until he was an inch away from Savannah. Please don't hit me, she said with a genuine.
What?!,he exclaimed as he was surprised at Savannah's words and he continued why would I hit you?, he said as he made a sniffing smile. Well, I saw you bully some students today, Savannah said trying not to look into his eyes. You mean those students you saw today?,he asked and Savannah nodded .
Those students challenged me to a fight today and I won the fight, that's all, he said and the bus arrived and they both got on it.
When they entered the bus they walked to a two seater and they both sat together. What's your name?, Savannah asked. Wow, that was fast, I didn't know you would ask my name or even talk to me, Ryan said.
You are my desk mate, I will eventually talk to you, Savannah replied looking at Ryan in the eye. You're right, my name is Ryan Enzo and since I was asleep when you introduced yourself in class, can you tell me your name again?. My name is Savannah Will, she said with a smile on her face and Ryan nodded and looked away. There was silence throughout their journey on the bus and when the bus got to their destination, they both got off.
Do you live in this neighborhood too?, Ryan asked as they both walked down the road. Yeah,Ryan answered.I can't believe my new desk mate is living in the same neighborhood with me, Savannah said then looked at Ryan with a crumpled look on her face.
What, why are you looking at me like that?, he asked with a questioned look on his face.
If you live in this neighborhood, how come I didn't know you, I mean, this neighborhood isn't that huge and I'm friends with everyone in this neighborhood, Savannah said. Well, that's because I hardly leave my house and when I decide to leave the house, it is either to go to school or to the basketball court. Ryan said and continued walking.
Why don't you like leaving your house?, she asked when Ryan's friends came. Dude, aren't you playing basketball?, Neville one of Ryan's friends asked.
I didn't know you'd be ready yet, Ryan said. Who is she?, Asher asked looking at Savannah with a side eye.
Oh, this is.... Ryan was saying when Savannah interrupted. I am Savannah Will, Ryan's new desk mate, she said. Do you guys live in this neighborhood too?. Yes, we live at the far end of this neighborhood, Ryan's friend, Asher answered. I live over there, Ryan said pointing to a white duplex.
Wow, I live three blocks away from your house and I didn't know you?, she said. Anyways, bye, she said with a smile .Anyways, bye , she said as she waved them goodbye and she left.
You finally have a desk mate and it's a girl, Archie said. What do you mean by that?, Ryan asked. You know what I mean, Archie said with a mischievous smile. I won't even try to reply you, he said and collected the basketball from one of his friends named Jamie and spinned it on his pointer, let's go play basketball!, he shouted in unison as they ran past Ryan's house.
The next day, Savannah walked into the class when a mathematics class was going on. You resumed just yesterday and you're already coming late, this is 10:00 AM for God's sake, their maths teacher, Mr Kennedy said. I'm sorry, sir, she bowed apologetically and walked to her seat.
Good morning, Ryan, she whispered and sat down. What's up?, late comer, Ryan said. Thanks, it's normal, Savannah said, then the bell for the next period rang and few minutes later, their physics teacher came in.
Good day, class!, Mrs Jady a strict woman said while the students greeted "good day ma'am" in unison. Okay, yesterday I thought you some terminologies in wave so Ryan, what is the meaning of the crest in a wave?, she asked in a high pitched tone. Ryan exhaled frustratedly and reluctantly stood up. I don't know, he said with his hands in his pockets. You won't even try to remember?, Mrs Jady said. How can I remember what I don't know?, he murmured but Mrs Jady heard him. Just sit down, she said and Ryan sat down.
You there!, Savannah right?, Mrs Jady asked and Savannah nodded. Stand up and tell the class what the crest in a wave means, Mrs Jady said.
Savannah slowly stood up and stared at her classmates in front of her when her eyes met Maya. Maya signalled to Savannah telling her to go on by moving her head then Savannah sighed, I don't know it too, she said and slowly sat down.
I can't believe this, Mrs Jady said. Maya, tell us what a crest is, she said and Maya stood up. A crest is the highest point of a wave, she said with a smile and sat in a way anybody would like.
Savannah scoffed, what a show-off, she said only for Ryan to hear. Are you jealous of her?, Ryan asked. Jealous?, of course not, I just hate the fact that she is acting like an angel when she is nothing like an angel.
Stop talking to each other and focus in my class!, Mrs Jady shouted at them and they both focused on the board. Few minutes later, Savannah started looking outside the window since she was beside the window while Ryan's mind was busy wandering around but this time around Mrs Jady ignored them.
During lunchbreak, Savannah already finished her food so she left the cafeteria and took a walk around the school. When she walked for some minutes she stopped to take a rest so she sat on a chair outside when a group of two girls and three boys came and stood in front of her. I heard a new student came and I heard the new student is really dumb, Dawn, one of the girls said.
First of all, I am not dumb so watch your words. You even have the guts to talk back at Dawn?, Billy, one of the boys said, Who is she?, she seems like a normal student to me , she said and Dawn came closer to Savannah and slapped her then Savannah, stood up and slapped Dawn which made Dawn's gang gasp.
Dawn's gang wanted to hit Savannah but Dawn stopped them then Dawn held Savannah's hair and dragged it and Savannah who was groaning in pain aggressively stepped on Dawn's foot making Dawn release her hair. Dawn held her foot and Savannah ran away.
Bring her to me!, she shouted in anger and her gang ran after Savannah then Dawn followed them too.
They ran after Savannah continuously so Savannah was already out of breath but as she ran through a bend she bumped into Ryan and Dawn's gang caught up with her. Savannah looked at who she bumped into and gladly said "Ryan" and Dawn's gang stopped as they stared at Ryan scared of what he could do.
To Savannah's surprise, Ryan walked away and Savannah stared at Dawn and her gang with fear while Dawn and her gang smirked at her.
