"Alright then, since I can't move anyway, I'll go with you all to Wano!"
Having thought everything through, Dragon made his decision without hesitation.
Rather than letting his son go off to die, it would be better to shoulder at least some responsibility as a father.
After all, when Luffy was born, he had just tossed him into Foosha Village and ran away. Thinking back on it now, he really was a lousy father.
But then again, when he thought about his own father, Garp, wasn't he just as much of a bastard? What kind of man takes a child still on mother's milk and drags him onto the battlefield?
Looked at that way, maybe it really was hereditary!
"Suit yourself."
Luffy didn't really care that Dragon wanted to accompany them to Wano, though that slightly disdainful look in his eyes was enough to make someone feel a little annoyed.
Peaceful times always pass quickly.
That very day, Zunesha entered a new sea. As they moved into the misty waters, numerous ships began to appear all around.
On the massive fleet of ships flew a jumble of flags—pirates, national guard fleets, and even some merchant ships flying black banners without any insignia.
Realizing what was happening, Dragon immediately took out a Den Den Mushi and contacted Sabo.
Through the call he learned that the World Government intended to ambush Ghidorah in Wano, and were even prepared to deploy every component of Pluton, assembling the warship in full.
Dragon had already witnessed the terror of Pluton's components.
In terms of sheer combat strength, he himself was no match for the assembled Pluton, though sometimes when facing its scattered parts, he could encounter opponents more evenly matched.
But he didn't know how many such components there were, and the thought of it filled him with unease for Ghidorah's sake.
With the appearance of so many ships, it was inevitable that World Government warships would show up as well. Learning that Dragon was on Zunesha's back, the United Army was targeted immediately. The World Government had no intention of holding back.
Just like the hard-headed Jack, even faced with the terror of Zunesha, they still chose to fire their cannons.
And the result, of course, was ships smashed and men drowned.
The World Government's warships acted like suicidal terrorist trucks, charging fearlessly at Zunesha, desperate to bring the colossal beast down.
If Zunesha were to fall, then in the coming war the advantage would shift to them.
Boom!
But just as one warship tried to draw near, a massive tentacle shot up from the sea. The slick appendage instantly coiled around the vessel, and with a tremendous squeeze, the ship was crushed into splinters.
In the next instant, before the other warships could close in, one by one enormous octopus tentacles—hundreds of meters long—rose from the deep, lashing out at the surrounding fleet.
The World Government had one hundred allied nations. Subtracting those who had withdrawn recently, about seventy remained.
These allied kingdoms, in the current pirate era, were all considered powerful nations.
Their military forces were formidable, and many also wielded significant influence in the black markets behind the scenes.
Seventy allied nations gathered together—such a terrifying coalition that even the World Government itself would struggle to withstand.
And yet today, under the World Government's orders, this entire coalition fleet had sailed into these waters.
The sea, already crowded with vessels, grew even more choked as countless warships appeared from both flanks.
Though diverse in design, all of them flew the same banner—the insignia of the World Government's allied nations.
Receiving this intelligence, Dragon's expression darkened.
He had not expected the World Government to move so hastily. Or rather, he had not expected them to act with such ruthless resolve.
Even if the entire alliance of the Joy Kingdom stood together, they were no match for half the number of allied nations. This war was not looking favorable.
Boom! Boom!
Thunderous cannon fire roared out, like the sounding of a charge. With that, the battle inexplicably began.
Roar! Roar! Roar!
Just as Dragon was growing anxious, a chorus of furious roars rang out again. Hearing it, everyone was struck with shock.
Standing atop Zunesha's back and gazing down below, they saw, around the scattered specks of ships, one after another colossal monster surging up from the depths…
Some were a hundred meters long. Others spanned a full thousand!
"W-what the hell are those?"
Even the ever-arrogant Enel, who thought of himself as a god, froze upon witnessing the monstrous creatures.
He had never imagined such titanic beings could exist in the world.
Even with his lightning powers, he doubted he could do anything against them.
"Sea Kings!"
"And not just Sea Kings—Deep Sea Kings!"
Supported by several Mink tribesmen, Dragon's eyes flashed with disbelief as he watched the beasts erupt from the waves.
If he wasn't mistaken, those Sea Kings were fighting on their side.
But who?
Who in the world could command the Sea Kings?
Then suddenly, he remembered a rumor he had heard not long ago—that the Sea King had already joined their ranks.
Could it be… that these Sea Kings were being controlled by that so-called Sea King?
If so, then just what kind of terrifying existence was this "Sea King"?
"Shirahoshi!!"
At that moment, the usually scatterbrained Luffy suddenly had a flash of insight, recalling the adorable girl he had once met in the Ryugu Kingdom.
Back then, when she cried, hadn't it triggered the rampage of the Sea Kings?
Realizing this, Luffy's eyes widened in disbelief.
That such a sweet and gentle girl could command these titanic Sea Kings—it was almost too terrifying to believe.
"Shirahoshi? You mean Neptune's…"
The Revolutionary Army already had intel on her. Having read those files, Dragon's eyes widened at Luffy's words.
"Yeah, the princess of Fish-Man Island," Luffy nodded.
Hearing the confirmation from Luffy's own mouth, Dragon could no longer remain calm. With these Sea Kings on their side, their alliance had gained an immeasurable advantage.
While everyone was still reeling from shock, the Sea Kings surged across the waters, clashing with the fleets.
Tiny warships stood no chance before mountain-sized monsters. Within minutes, countless vessels were shattered, sending sailors screaming into the depths.
The battle raged on, but no one noticed the shadows gathering in the deep, slowly approaching the Sea Kings.
Just as the fight seemed to tilt in their favor, the shadows burst from below, lunging at the leviathans.
They were a swarm of grotesque, steel-forged monstrosities, some encrusted with thick green seaweed.
Even from a glance, it was clear these mechanical beasts had been lurking in the abyss for centuries.
Their bodies bristled with blade-like limbs, tearing effortlessly into the Sea Kings' tough hides.
As their flesh split open, torrents of blood gushed out like waterfalls, staining the entire sea crimson.
On the blood-red waters, the battle only grew fiercer. Perhaps the stench of blood drove the Sea Kings into further madness, and the ocean churned violently under their frenzy.
Nearby ships were caught in the chaos, smashed apart in an instant, their crew screaming as they were dragged into the depths…
