Chapter 3 - TOUR

Levi entered the luxurious mansion the principal had provided for him, while marvelling at the beauty.

Compared to his previous house, this felt like a dream.

Welcome, young master Levi, a voice said from behind Levi.

Levi turned back, meeting the gaze of the short old man.

Who are you? Levi asked with confusion.

Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. The man apologised with a slight bow.

I am the head butler of the mansion, Alric.

Head butler?

Yes, my duty is to make sure you are comfortable here, he said.

Then can you take me around? This place is too large.

Of course, young master.

Mira, he called out.

Instantly, the sound of heels echoed through the hallway.

A tall woman dressed in a refined maid uniform, her hair tied in a tight bun and a silver badge pinned to her chest.

Greetings, young master, she said with a slight curtsy.

Levi nodded in response.

This is Mira, she is the head maid of the estate. She will conduct your tour and assist you with anything you need, Alric explained.

Okay, Levi said.

Shall we begin, young master? Mira asked.

Sure, after you, Levi said.

Mira led Levi down the grand corridor, her steps sharp and purposeful.

This floor contains the main living spaces, she explained. Reception rooms, dining halls, your private lounge, and several guest chambers.

As they turned a corner, a door swung open.

A young woman rushed out, carrying a tray with a steaming bowl of soup, only to freeze when she saw Levi.

Oh, Apologies, Head Maid.

This is Elen, the kitchen maid. She prepares all meals and snacks, Mira said.

Greetings, young master, she said as she sprinted off.

Further along, they stepped into a vast indoor garden filled with exotic flowers and glowing herbs.

A girl knelt in the middle, whispering to a blooming purple rose.

Anya, Mira said, voice raised slightly.

The girl looked up slowly, blinking like she'd been in another world.

This is our garden maid. She tends the courtyard and greenhouse.

Anya stood and brushed off her gloves.

Greetings, young master, she said with a soft voice.

If you ever need a calming tea or something, rare, just ask. The plants usually know what you need.

Levi didn't know what to say to that, so he just nodded.

They passed a wide training hall.

A woman was swinging a halberd with playful ease, humming as she moved.

This is Sera, your combat maid, Mira said.

Sera spotted them and grinned. Hey there, young master, hope you don't mind bruises."

Levi blinked. Huh?

She just laughed and went back to training.

They reached a long corridor lined with wardrobes.

A dramatic gasp echoed before a petite girl leapt out, holding a sparkling coat. Young master, you simply must try this, It's divine she said, not even bothering to greet.

Mira pinched the bridge of her nose. This is Lila, the wardrobe maid.

Lila beamed. I've already planned your formal and casual outfits for the next two weeks. Your battle robe will have three mood variations.

Thanks, Levi said, not minding her jovial behaviour.

In the next room, books were stacked floor to ceiling. A woman sat in the middle, flipping through three open tomes at once.

Mira knocked.

The woman looked up, annoyed. Unless you're on fire or have a research request, kindly, oh, New master, she exclaimed.

This is Faye, Mira said. She handles the mansion's library

Faye stood and adjusted her glasses. Then she gave a slight bow before she returned to her book.

They passed into a dimly lit corridor. Mira didn't say anything, but Levi flinched when a pale woman appeared silently at his side.

This is Yula, night maid. She manages wards and night duties, Mira said calmly.

Yula didn't speak. She just gave a small bow, her eyes unblinking.

Don't worry, Mira said softly as they walked. She always shows up like that.

As the tour ended and they returned to the main hall, Levi let out a slow breath.

Are those all the servants here? He asked.

No, only those that matter.

Levi nodded, then walked into his room.
