Chapter 6 - "The First Storm"

Night never truly comes in Nimura…Because night here never leaves. But something had changed in the air—it grew heavier, quieter… and that's what frightened me the most.

I was sitting with Lapobo by a strange river. Its water didn't flow—it trembled, as if alive.Suddenly, Lapobo raised his ears and turned sharply:

— "He's here... the first one bold enough to attempt the crossing. His name is Koraim, Lord of the Storm."

I stood immediately. My heart started pounding like a war drum, and I moved forward with hesitant steps.

Lapobo said:— "If Koraim succeeds in opening the passage, a storm born from Nimura's fury will strike Earth within minutes.Cities will crumble. Lives will be lost.Stop him… or all your training will have meant nothing."

We climbed a rocky ridge, and reached a wide circular arena…And in its center stood the monster.

I saw him for the first time—And it was like watching a hurricane given form.

Over three meters tall, his body made of spinning gray whirlwinds, eyes glowing faintly blue—two in his face, and one in the middle of his chest. His right arm was a torn wing, and the left resembled a massive stone hook. Each breath he took released a gust of slicing wind and ash.

He murmured in a strange, ancient tongue, as if chanting a storm into existence. Then suddenly, he raised his arm—and the sky itself cracked open.

Winds unlike any I'd ever known surged forth—Cold, thick, carrying blades of dust and chaos.

Lapobo shouted:— "Now, Adam! Stop him before the gate opens!"

I jumped—without thinking.A spark ignited inside me… faint, but real.

I drew it into my hands, and a blue light formed in my palms—like a concentrated flicker of lightning.

I ran toward him, but Koraim noticed. He slammed the ground with his claw, sending a spinning wall of wind crashing into me.I flew back ten meters, hitting the ground hard.

Blood filled my mouth, my back burned from the impact—But I stood.

I yelled:

— "You won't touch Earth! You won't touch them!"

Koraim roared—a shriek of a thousand tempests. Then charged.

I unleashed a wave of energy from my hand—But it was swallowed by his winds.

Lapobo's voice reached me:

— "His three eyes are the key… Aim for the one in his chest—it's the heart of the storm!"

I grabbed a small stone from the ground. With the energy I had, I turned it into a glowing spear.

I waited.

As he lunged, I dove low, slid beneath his sweeping arm, and thrust the spear directly into his chest eye.

There was an explosion of light and pressure—I was thrown back, but stayed upright.

Koraim screamed, like a cyclone in agony. His body unraveled—vortex by vortex—Until there was nothing left but silence.

I stood, gasping. My chest was on fire.Lapobo approached quietly.

— "First test… and you passed. But this is not victory, Adam.Koraim was just the Warden of Wind…What lies ahead… is worse."

He then looked up to the pale sky and added:

— "The worlds are beginning to overlap…And your grandmother's mirror… has started whispering again."

For the first time, I didn't feel victorious.I felt afraid.

Because I knew now…This was only the beginning.
