The G League All-Star break was a brief, unnatural pause in the relentless rhythm of the season. For Kyle, it wasn't a rest; it was a recalibration. The Maine Celtics sat atop their division, but the loss of Leon Vance had exposed a fragility. They were 25-15, their offense still a thing of beauty, but their defensive rating had slipped from elite to merely good. The "pipeline" giveth, and the pipeline taketh away.

He spent the break not on a beach, but in his Portland apartment, surrounded by holographic play-clips and data streams. He was analyzing not his opponents, but his own team. The patterns were clear: when their ball movement hit a certain tempo, they were unbeatable. When it slowed, even for a few possessions, they became ordinary.

On the first day back, he gathered his team. They looked refreshed, but also disjointed, the rhythm of the break still in their limbs.
