Hachiman's POV
Morning in Kyoto. Yesterday, we skipped sightseeing and went straight to the hotel after training. Better to rest early. But, as expected, there was a hiccup—room assignments. Don't get me wrong, we split guys and girls properly. No way I'm bunking with Uma Musume. But CB, for some reason, insisted on sharing a room with me, saying, "You'd be lonely alone." If that were true, I wouldn't be living solo!
Air Groove stopped her, thank goodness, but then she leaned in and whispered:
Air Groove: "If you're lonely… call me. I'll come to your room///"
Vice President, you serious? You can't lead with that! What if it influences the younger ones, like Rice or Maurice?
Anyway, morning came fine. I'm heading to the breakfast floor in the elevator.
Ding!
Hachiman: "Ooh, smells good."
Fuji: "Hachiman-san, over here!"
Hachiman: "Yo, morning. Sleep well?"
CB: "Slept great♪ Would've been better with you~?"
Air Groove: "Still on that, CB-senpai? Hachiman, you sleep okay?"
Hachiman: "Yeah, fine. Looks like everyone's here. Good."
Bakushin-O: "Rice-san was first! She went running and still beat us—amazing! As class rep, I should learn from her!"
Rice: "R-Really? Ehehe…"
Maurice: "Bakushin-O-san's right! I need to follow Rice-san's example!"
Ardan: "Hehe, indeed. Anii-sama, it's almost time, so line up."
Hachiman: "Nah, that'd bother others. I'm fine going in order."
Rice: "Should we grab a table big enough for everyone?"
Fuji: "Yeah, eating together's tastier♪ Let's do it."
Hachiman: "Sounds good. And you know this, but don't cause trouble for others."
Air Groove: "What do you take us for, Hachiman? No worries, I've got this."
Bakushin-O: "Leave it to your class rep!"
…Air Groove's reliable, but Bakushin-O's got me worried. Fuji's more trustworthy.
Minutes Later
They're at the back table… Food's ready to grab, so let's head over. Wait, what're they doing?
Hachiman: "What's going on?"
CB: "Hachiman, finally! Can I sit next to you?"
Ardan: "Then I'll take the other side."
Rice: "I-I want to sit by Onii-sama too…"
Fuji: "I'd love to sit by Hachiman-san too. How about it?"
Air Groove: "You're lucky no one else is around. Sit already."
Bakushin-O: "Everyone, calm down! Other guests might show up!"
CB: "But I want Hachiman's side…"
Hachiman: "Sigh… Rock-paper-scissors. Winner gets today, loser gets tomorrow."
Fuji, you too…?
Arrow: "That'll settle it quick. I'm sitting."
Maurice: "Th-Then I'll take the far side."
Hachiman: "Wish I could sit that easily."
Air Groove: "Sorry, Hachiman. Too many of us… Rock-paper-scissors was a good call."
Hachiman: "No big deal. Thanks for stepping in. Didn't expect Fuji to join the fray. Arrow's chill about it, and Maurice is too junior to dive in."
Maurice: "S-Sorry, Trainer-san…"
Arrow: "No way I'm jumping into that."
Hachiman: "Don't apologize, it's fine. It's those four causing the fuss."
"Rock, paper, scissors! Tie—go again!"
Rice: "Ehehe, it's yummy, Onii-sama♪"
Ardan: "Everything's delicious."
Hachiman: "Yeah, not bad."
CB: "Ugh, too bad… But tomorrow's our turn, so I'll let it slide."
Fuji: "Haha, true. This works out—I've got the race tomorrow."
Rice and Ardan won. That's fine, but… they're kinda close. They look so happy, though, so it's hard to say anything.
Hachiman: "Rice, that's not enough for you, right?"
Rice: "This is my usual for breakfast."
Hachiman: "Just lunch and dinner then? Makes sense—three big meals would stress the dorm staff."
Rice: "O-Onii-sama…"
Ardan: "Anii-sama, this is tasty too."
Hachiman: "Hm? Didn't grab that one. I'll get it for seconds."
Ardan: "Hehe. First… open wide."
Hachiman: "…nom."
Had to. Ardan'd look crushed otherwise. Guys, don't stare like that… I had no choice, okay?
