Chapter 5 - Cindy tied Harley up

Did you get the wrong person...

In the comics, whenever Silk, Cindy Moon, and Spider-Man met, neither could control their instinctive urges.

But the problem is, this is Gotham, and Connors isn't Spider-Man; he just has a Spider-Sense.

Not only did Cindy Moon appear now, but she also gave him an upside-down kiss.

Aside from being shocked, he didn't have much other reaction. Instead, Cindy's eyes were tightly shut, and her breathing became increasingly rapid.

Connors' eyes were sharp; he could even see bulges on Silk's red, white, and black suit.

He struggled hard, only to find that the Silk Cindy shot from her fingertips was incredibly tough, completely unbreakable by his current strength.

"Can't resist, might as well enjoy it..."

Connors sighed inwardly, letting Silk Cindy's hands explore him.

...

"If this is a World where Marvel and DC are merged, then I'll have to think carefully."

"Most villains in Gotham City rely on schemes and skills to commit crimes; beings like Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, and Bane are extremely rare."

"For now, I don't need to worry about encountering opponents too powerful to match. I can treat this as my Novice Village and develop for a while."

"But the current problem is, there's already Harley Quinn, and how should I handle Cindy Moon who's practically throwing herself at me..."

On the rooftop of a tall building by the street, Connors lay in a hammock woven from Silk, with Cindy Moon nestled in his arms like a small bird.

However, what came quickly also left quickly. Cindy Moon soon got up from beside him, shooting a large amount of Silk from the fingertips of one hand, wrapping her impressive figure within it.

With the other hand, she tied up the suit she had taken off with Silk, then quickly left without looking back.

Hit it and quit it?

Connors hadn't even reacted before Cindy disappeared into the tall building.

By the time he got dressed, the Spider-Sense that had failed in front of Silk Moon returned, and he finally spotted Harley Quinn climbing up the stairs.

"Didn't catch that mysterious guy?" Harley Quinn asked blankly, looking at the Silk hammock behind Connors.

"No," Connors replied righteously. He really hadn't caught the other person; he was the one who had been caught.

"It's okay," Harley Quinn somehow produced a baseball bat and swung it in the air. "I've found out information about Joker..."

Joker is starting something?

Connors' spirits lifted. He had thought Joker would be quiet for a while after getting out, but he didn't expect him to make a move so quickly.

"Do you know what he's going to do?"

Harley Quinn didn't answer; instead, she handed him a newspaper.

On the newspaper's front page, a large headline was prominently displayed:

"Arkham Asylum Patients Mass Escape!"

Among the list below were Joker, Riddler, Bane, Scarecrow, Penguin, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy...

There was no such plot in the comics. Connors frowned, not worried about how much trouble these people would cause – with Batman around, he could just quietly watch the show.

It's just that if all these villains are out, he might not be able to watch all the shows...

"You said you had information about Joker, what is it about?" Connors asked.

Harley Quinn pulled a walkie-talkie from behind her shorts, pressed a button, and a broken voice came through:

"...It's nothing, Captain, just some idiot photographer trying to get a headline..."

"Handcuff him and send him downtown. This is not a game."

After two brief lines of dialogue, only laughter remained on the other end of the walkie-talkie:

"Looks like you all wasted your efforts, hehehe... Hahahaha!... Gordon... Hahaha! Help hahahaha!"

Connors' first reaction was who was calling for help on the walkie-talkie and sounding so happy. His second reaction was, if according to Harley Quinn, this was information about Joker, then the conclusion was clear.

—Laughing gas!

Following the relevant plot he vaguely remembered, Connors asked Harley Quinn for a direction, then quickly ran towards it on the rooftop.

...

Williams Medical Center.

It had been bombed with explosives, leaving a large hole in the wall, with bullet casings, firearms, and bodies lying on the floor.

"These guards were killed by the blast wave of the explosion. Before the other guards rushed out of the office, he poured bullets into here with a machine gun..."

"According to survivors, the perpetrator should be this Joker."

"He kicked open the door to the monitored ward, throwing in a pile of loaded weapons as gifts for his new fan club."

"..."

Batman, in his suit, listened to the description from the only survivor here. Even though the upper half of his face was covered by the mask, it was still clear his expression was becoming increasingly serious.

"Oh, right... Batman, I think you should see this."

Gordon finished speaking and walked towards another part of the medical center. Batman followed closely, and they both stopped at a wall.

Next to the wall was a bloody mop, and the words on the wall were clearly written with it:

"One after another, death is not far. City of the fallen, follow me to the Yellow Springs."

Gordon and Batman stood side by side, their gaze shifting from the poem written in blood to the small words written next to it with a marker:

"—Joker did this."

It even had an arrow pointing to the poem.

The handwriting was unusually neat, completely different in style from the poem written in blood.

"Who wrote this?" Batman pointed to that line of small text.

"It just appeared, nobody knows who wrote it... Maybe it's a prank?" Captain Gordon guessed.

Batman said nothing. Whether it was a prank or an accomplice of Joker, he would do everything he could to catch them.

"Now, not only the guys from Arkham, but the escapees from Williams Medical Center also need to be caught..."

Gordon hadn't finished speaking when Batman next to him had already disappeared.

From then until dark, until almost dawn, Batman traversed every corner of Gotham City. By before dawn, he had only caught six accomplices who had escaped from Williams Medical Center.

Inside Wayne Tower, Alfred held the clothes Bruce Wayne had just taken off:

"Can you sleep for a while first, Young Master Wayne?"

"Not today, Alfred, I have a lot to do," Bruce Wayne said, walking towards the elevator.

"Indeed. I suggest you rest for at least ten minutes before handling this matter tonight... Also, someone anonymously sent an email tonight about your opponent, Joker."

Bruce stopped walking.

"The email only contained two words: 'laughing gas' and 'reservoir'."

...

With his Spider-Sense, Connors easily avoided being seen. He prankishly wrote a line of small text below the poem Joker had written, then used the anonymous address Harley Quinn had set up to send the email to Batman.

He was definitely going to watch the show between Batman and Joker, but he didn't plan to get too deeply involved. He didn't want Batman to finish dealing with Joker and then follow the clues to find him.

With the words "laughing gas" and "reservoir," surely someone as smart as the Master would understand the subsequent developments of this matter.

Joker was left for Batman to worry about. Connors had his own matters to handle at the moment.

—After being tied up by Silk Cindy Moon during the day, he was tied up by Harley Quinn again at night.

"Let me guess, was this the position you used back then?"
