After ruthlessly murdering Leslie, Fraser took the map and stored it, leaving his prison and walking toward the nobility carriages.
Of course, Fraser didn't kill Leslie for no reason, in fact he felt sorrowful for her, this was definitely an act he would never have done back in the cavern. He could have easily taken the map and escaped, but if he did, she would alert the rest of the sorcerers, and he would be hunted down. He had no choice but to execute her.
Fraser also could have taken her hostage, extorting Gareth in exchange for her life. However, he did not have enough time to deduce a strong enough movement method to escape the chase that would commence after extorting Gareth.
Fraser went into the storage carriage, and began looting to his heart's desire, he grabbed multiple meridians, along with all of the carriage's glimmers. Yes, you heard right, after the various battles that the carriage has endured against thieves and bandits, the sorcerers onboard would extract the meridians from the corpses. Meridians had high value, being used as a precious material for weapon smithing, arcane extraction, void sealing and various other uses. Meanwhile, glimmers were considered the primary currency in this world. They are formed in areas with dense arcane, at first only floating in the air as dust, but would solidify into small yellow glass-like crystals after long enough time has passed.
Fraser also would've extracted Leslie's meridian if she had one, they held immense value. He didn't have long until sunrise, so he didn't look at what he grabbed, simply picking them up and throwing them in a large sack to save precious time. Light was slowly introduced into the atmosphere as the sun steadily rose. To everybodies' lack of awareness, Fraser has already looted the most precious items possible from the carriage treasury, rinsing their supplies dry.
Because of Fraser's lack of a left arm, storing these supplies took significantly longer, however, he wasn't done yet, there was one more item of importance he was aiming to obtain.
He walked leisurely toward the nobility carriage, replenishing his arcane storage by extracting arcane from a tier one meridian from the treasury. Outside the nobility carriage, Fraser made thumping noises, attempting to gain the attention of somebody.
Ingram.
As a tier three sound sorcerer, his ears were far more sensitive to noise than regular peoples', Fraser made use of this, luring him out slowly but surely.
"Huh? Who is it…?" Ingram woke up from his slumber, rubbing his eyes while searching for the culprit. During sleep, a person wouldn't experience emotion, as their body is in a passive state, of course this is only the case unless the person was in a dream, in which Ingram wasn't. This meant Ingram's arcane storage wasn't high. Further giving Fraser an advantage against Ingram one on one.
After a while of excessive noise disrupting his sleep, Ingram finally left the carriage, where Fraser was waiting. Recognition hit Ingram clearly, bruises from chains remained on Fraser's wrist and neck, Leslie's blood dripping down his jet-black hair, dying the cloth on his missing arm even redder than before. Ragged, tattered and stained robes draped over him. And finally, the pair of soulless, cloudy grey eyes piercing into Ingram's soul.
He clearly felt the density of Fraser's murderous intent in the air, adding onto his already intimidating look in the fog.
"Gar-...!" Ingram subconsciously attempted to shout for help after witnessing this horrific scene, but suddenly, sound refused to emit from his mouth.
"Silence." Fraser used his tier two technique, Suppress Sound, directly countering Ingram, before lunging forward, activating his second technique, Cloud Enhancement!
This was an Enhancement type technique, which, as the name suggests, simply enhances the user's body. Suppress Sound on the other hand was an Emission Release type technique, a class holding techniques that release arcane to serve a purpose, in this instance, releasing dense clouds that dampened noise.
The Cloud Enhancement technique mainly decreased Fraser's visibility, essentially creating a stealthy cloak made of fog around him, but this was just the main effect. It also increased his strength, speed, and overall, every other function of his body. This was the main effect of basic enhancement techniques. Fraser didn't have the time to individually make propulsion techniques for movement, other emission techniques for attacking, and so on. If he did make individual techniques, his battle strength would be much higher than it was right now, but time was of the essence. Just this basic enhancement technique was quick to deduce while granting a reasonable amount of strength in all categories, just barely enough to potentially kill Ingram.
Ingram attempted to activate an attacking technique, quickly realising it was essentially useless and difficult to control in the suppress sound field. However, Ingram had rich battle experience, he quickly turned tail and began running.
"Not so fast." A cloudy figure appeared before Ingram, the difference in their speed was simply massive as Ingram's techniques were of little to no use in the area. Resorting to hand to hand combat, he lifted his arms, confidence arose in his mind after seeing Fraser's missing arm.
"Come." Ingram gestured.
Ingram threw swing after swing at Fraser as he desperately defended, the enhancement technique showing its usefulness in cushioning the impact of the blows, but Ingram didn't waver, the two were nearing the edge of the suppression field, a worried look flashed in Fraser's expression.
Ingram noticed this, realising and assuming Fraser lacked the arcane stores to release another suppress sound field.
A fatal trap.
The moment the two exited the field, Ingram successfully activated his techniques, but at the next moment, his face twisted in horror.
Suppress sound!
While Fraser did in fact lack arcane stores, he had considered this long ago.
Underneath the cloth tied to his missing arm, was a cracked open meridian stolen from the treasury, he had been absorbing the arcane while fighting, but Ingram never took the opportunity to break the meridian, because he never suspected that one would be underneath the rags on Fraser's shoulder.
It was simply an outrageous and unexpected circumstance!
Fraser showed worry on purpose, to trick Ingram into believing he lacked arcane stores.
After the emergence of another field, Ingram's expression turned disgusting, his movements faltered for a short moment, revealing multiple cracks in his defense.
Fraser kicked at his stomach, landing it, throwing Ingram meters away back into the previous suppression field, by the time Ingram got onto his legs, Fraser appeared yet again grabbing Ingram's face, releasing a frosty cloud, immobilising him, before pummeling Ingram to death.
Without the chance to beg for mercy, Ingram's tier three corpse lay dead on the floor boards, mangled, blood seeping into the carriage wheels.
Fraser carefully removed his tier three meridian, satisfied with his overall gains, he stored the meridian, and left the scene toward his next destination.
