CHAPTER 282: OROCHI'S DEATH
In the Flower Capital's central district, within Shogun Orochi's castle tower, a lively banquet was underway. Such banquets occurred regularly. Shogun Orochi was a cruel, cold man, yet he wasn't stingy with subordinates, frequently hosting high-ranking shogunate officials at feasts.
At each banquet, Orochi invited numerous geishas from the city to perform. He and his officials enjoyed clean, abundant food that Wano's common people could only dream of.
Today was no different. Carefully selected geishas wore gorgeous kimonos, dancing gracefully. Though tall, Orochi's build made him appear short and stocky. His face lit with excitement watching the performances, hands groping a heavily made-up geisha beside him.
Among all dancing geishas, Orochi's gaze greedily fixed on one particular woman—a fox-masked figure with sky-blue hair styled in an elaborate bun.
Even among carefully selected geishas, her dancing was most captivating. Her waist moved soft as heavenly clouds, her long legs glimpsed between movements utterly mesmerizing.
Orochi nearly drooled watching her, greed overflowing from his eyes, completely undisguised.
When the performance ended, Orochi impatiently stumbled to his feet, beckoning repeatedly. "Komurasaki! Come here! Come to this Shogun's side!"
Komurasaki—the Flower Capital's most renowned geisha. Everyone in this city knew Shogun Orochi was her devoted admirer, invariably inviting her to every banquet. This time was no exception.
"Please don't rush, Shogun-sama. This humble girl has one more piece to offer you," the masked geisha said, her waist swaying as she retrieved a shamisen, kneeling on a cushion.
"Oh!! Komurasaki will play?!" Orochi's excitement nearly made him dance. "Then I'll eagerly await it!"
The banquet had plenty of time—no need to rush.
Komurasaki's slender, pale fingers plucked the strings. Pure, simple, melodious sounds emerged. But suddenly, the melody turned urgent. Her hands moved like storm and tempest across the strings, the music becoming warlike.
"Completely different from usual!" Orochi frowned, calling loudly. "Komurasaki, I prefer your usual music!"
He was Wano's Shogun. Though he doted on this woman and would please her, that didn't mean he'd grovel.
"I think this piece suits perfectly!" Someone slid open the banquet hall's paper door, casually stepping inside.
Orochi froze. Someone dared interrupt his banquet? Did they have a death wish?
About to grow angry, Orochi saw the visitor's face clearly. The next instant, Wano's Shogun collapsed, food and drink spilling everywhere, staining him like an opened sauce bottle.
"Y-you, you, you're—!!" Fear rendered Orochi nearly speechless.
He recognized the man suddenly before him. Not just from newspaper reports—this person had appeared before him previously, making him flee pathetically to seek Kaido's protection.
"We meet again, Orochi," Brett smiled, having used Conqueror's Haki to knock out all guards before leisurely arriving here.
"This time, you won't escape."
"WAAAH!!" Orochi shrieked. Why was this monster here?!
"Relax. Your opponent isn't me this time," Brett chuckled. "First, let's clear the room."
WHOOOM!!
Violent spirit exploded outward. All irrelevant personnel—shogunate officials and invited geishas—collapsed unconscious. Except Komurasaki, still performing.
But Orochi couldn't notice that now.
CRASH! The wall exploded. Two figures burst forth, charging directly at Orochi. One was sword-wielding Kawamatsu. The other was Hyogoro, his arms blackened.
"Orochi-sama!" Fukurokuju emerged from behind Orochi, desperately trying to block the sudden attackers.
But a black spiked club met him head-on. Before reacting, Fukurokuju took a club strike to the head, flying backward through the wall.
Simultaneously, the club flew backward, caught by a slender yet powerful hand.
"Don't interfere," Yamato said boldly, shouldering her club. "This is the Kozuki family's revenge time!"
Kozuki—that name was pure nightmare, instantly drenching Orochi in cold sweat.
While Yamato sent Fukurokuju flying, Kawamatsu and Hyogoro had reached Orochi. Hyogoro grabbed Orochi's throat, pinning him down. Kawamatsu's blade pierced Orochi's heart.
"Tsk." Brett clicked his tongue lightly. Orochi was probably the weakest Mythical Zoan user.
Honestly, the Yamata no Orochi fruit's ability was strong—but unfortunately, Orochi himself was utterly pathetic.
"That's it?!" Yamato found this hard to believe. The man who'd seized this nation from Oden was this weak?
But it wasn't finished yet.
"BASTARD!" Despite his pierced heart—when ordinary people would be thoroughly dead—Orochi suddenly screamed. His body swelled, sprouting eight heads, jaws opening to bite at Kawamatsu and Hyogoro.
Nearby, Komurasaki's performance continued, her martial melody echoing.
Kawamatsu's expression hardened. His blade turned black, wrapping in invisible waves.
"For turning this nation into its current state, time to atone, Orochi!!"
"Kappa Nagare!!" Kawamatsu gripped his sword reverse-handed, launching upward. He moved as freely as swimming through rivers, yet his blade was sharp as raging currents!
"WAAAH!!" Orochi screamed. All eight heads received massive gashes simultaneously, blood spraying.
His body collapsed again, heart stopped. But still not finished—far from finished. His heart restarted, blood flowing throughout his body. He revived again.
However, Hyogoro's palm awaited him. A hand wrapped in powerful Ryuo smashed Orochi's chest, exploding it entirely, crushing his heart once more.
"This guy's ability is amazing!" Yamato couldn't help but marvel seeing Orochi die and revive repeatedly.
"I agree," Brett nodded lightly.
Though the Yamata no Orochi fruit didn't grant terrifying combat abilities, this death-and-resurrection power alone was frightening! True resurrection from death! Even Brook could only revive once.
"But this guy's too weak," Yamato grimaced. Complete waste of such ability.
"It's over," Yamato said. Indeed—it was over.
Kawamatsu grabbed the newly-revived Orochi's hair, yanking him upright.
"Forgive me, please forgive me! If you spare my life, all my treasure can be—"
"SILENCE!" Before Orochi finished, Kawamatsu's sword pierced his heart again. "Scum like you can only beg forgiveness from Wano's dead in the underworld!"
He carried Orochi striding toward the castle tower's exterior. This man shouldn't die so quietly.
