Chapter 353 - Chapter 353

"Simple, this mission should work."

After hearing Marco's words, Nab immediately dug out a mission sheet from the corner of the mission board - he was indeed very familiar with these.

Marco glanced at it and slightly furrowed his brow. It was a delivery request to a nearby city, but the timeframe was actually quite tight.

Even taking the train would take about two to three hours.

"Actually, Marco, you came a bit late. Many easy missions were taken early in the morning, and most of what's left are somewhat difficult."

Nab looked somewhat apologetic. This delivery mission was only posted recently, otherwise it would have been taken long ago.

"No problem, thanks Nab."

Marco shook his head, tore off the mission sheet, and thanked Nab.

For ordinary people, a three-hour timeframe might be tight, but for Marco, it was no issue at all.

"No problem, glad I could help."

Nab waved his hands repeatedly.

He had carefully considered recommending this mission to Marco, believing Marco should be able to complete it before twelve o'clock, especially since Marco was quite fast and had his exclusive transportation - the "Corvus Aircraft."

Of course, Marco's "Corvus Aircraft" wasn't exclusively for his own use.

If anyone in the guild had urgent matters, they could ask Marco for help, and he would generously lend out the "Corvus Aircraft."

Therefore, many guild members had ridden the "Corvus Aircraft," some even alone.

They were all deeply impressed by its speed - much faster than the train.

Marco nodded without saying more, immediately went to Mira to register the mission, received the package that needed delivery, then directly went outside, summoned the large crow, and quickly took off.

"What's going on here?"

Mirajane looked completely confused as she completed the mission registration process.

By the time she finished, Marco had already rushed off in a hurry.

"Nab? What did you two talk about? Why did Marco suddenly take this mission?"

Puzzled, Mirajane called out to Nab.

She had been watching them and saw Nab recommend this mission to Marco.

"Uh, I don't know what's going on either. Marco said he wanted a commission that could be completed before twelve o'clock. Since this one was just registered, I recommended it to him."

Nab scratched his head. Truthfully, he didn't know the specifics either - he just followed Marco's request in recommending a mission.

"You're so close with Marco, and you don't know what's going on either?" Nab asked curiously in return.

He had actually been thinking of asking Mirajane, but instead this "She-Devil" was questioning him.

"...."

Nab's straightforward response made Mirajane somewhat embarrassed.

She thought to herself that everyone apparently knew she and Marco were very close.

"..."

Seeing Mirajane's slightly embarrassed expression, Nab felt speechless.

He thought to himself that nobody was stupid - whenever Marco was in Magnolia, he went to Mirajane's house for breakfast every day, which was no secret anymore.

There was no helping it - after eating breakfast together, it wasn't like they would separate to go to the guild.

Whenever they ate together, Marco would usually come to the guild with Mirajane, Elfman, and Lisanna.

Over time, everyone naturally came to know about it.

"We'll ask him when he returns." Mirajane quickly regained her composure.

She intended to wait for Marco at the guild, as he had specifically requested her to do so.

Normally, she would have been off duty soon, as the guild did not operate at night.

But since Marco had asked, she didn't mind working a little overtime.

The reason Marco had asked Mira to wait for him was to ensure the mission was fully completed through all necessary procedures.

Having her wait a bit longer was better than making her come back again later.

...

"Whoosh!"

The pitch-black raven darted swiftly through the night sky.

The starlight above shone upon the raven, providing it with a continuous stream of magical power, while Marco also channeled his own magic into it.

The raven's body was already operating under extreme strain.

Marco not only had to deliver the item before midnight, but he also needed to return to the guild to complete all the mission procedures.

"Caw!"

Halfway through the overburdened flight, the raven could no longer endure the strain and let out a shrill cry.

Marco immediately replaced it with a fresh raven that had been on standby.

Soon, in less than an hour, Marco flew to the destination and located the address specified in the mission request.

For missions like this, the items being transported were usually quite valuable.

After all, if they weren't precious, people wouldn't hire "Fairy Tail" for the job—it was far more expensive than ordinary delivery methods, but it was also the safest option.

"Who is it?"

When Marco knocked on the family's front gate, a voice came from inside, tinged with confusion and a hint of caution.

"A Mage from 'Fairy Tail.'" Marco replied, understanding their wariness.

Showing up unannounced late at night was indeed impolite. Judging by the grandeur of the property, this was no impoverished household.

Marco had knocked on the main gate, which led into a large courtyard filled with flowers and plants.

In the center of the courtyard stood an elegant, multi-story Western-style mansion.

An elderly man dressed as a servant hurried out, accompanied by a younger servant. Upon seeing Marco, the two promptly opened the gate.

"Are you... are you Duke Marco of 'Fairy Tail'?!"

The young servant seemed extremely excited.

It appeared he had seen Marco before, though likely only from a distance, so he wasn't entirely sure.

"That's me. Is this Lord Fermin's residence?"

Marco smiled and nodded at the young man, confirming his identity.

Without wasting time, he immediately got to the point.

"Yes, yes! This is Lord Fermin's home!"

The young servant quickly responded, while the older servant finally caught on—he had heard of the name Marco Dreyar too!

"I'll go inform the master at once!"

The older servant hurried back into the mansion to notify Lord Fermin of the esteemed guest's arrival.

Marco followed the young servant into the courtyard and then into a guest room in the mansion, waiting for Lord Fermin to appear.

The mission required delivering the item directly into Lord Fermin's hands.

Marco couldn't simply leave it behind and go—he had to complete the handover face-to-face.

When it came to professionalism, Marco had it firmly under control.

Besides, he had plenty of time now and didn't need to rush.

Soon, a lavishly dressed elderly man hurried over, looking quite anxious, clearly not wanting to keep Marco waiting.

"Duke Marco, I never expected it would be you who came!"

Lord Fermín obviously knew why the people from "Fairy Tail" had come—the "sender" must have discussed it with him.

But Lord Fermín clearly hadn't anticipated that Marco would be the one to come.

He wondered just how much that guy had paid?

To actually manage to hire Marco Dreyar—could it be that he issued an S-Class Quest?
