----------------------------------

Before Catherine could even shout for help, a strong hand grabbed her arm and stopped her from falling.

She gasped, closing her eyes for a moment in the fear of falling.

But when she opened them, the first thing she saw was his chest, steady and firm.

Slowly, she looked up and met his eyes.

It was of the Aaryan's arms, she was in and chest.

His cold eyes was fixed on her.

For a second, she just looked it into his eyes, and the feeling of the strange kind of calm she hadn't had in a long time. But that calmness, she found, didn't last for a long,.

When Aaryan's voice cut through the quiet, low and cold. "How long are you going to stay like this, on my chest and in my arms, Miss Catherine?"

There was something helpless in his tone, like he didn't want to be so cold but couldn't help it.

Wgen she heard him, suddenly, she realized how close they were actually, and she noticed the curious eyes of people all around the deck. Even if most of the people didn't know who she was, her face flushed deep red. She buried her face into his chest, trying to hide her embarrassment from everyone watching.

Aaryan heartbeat tensed quietly, clearly not sure what to do in this situation. Catherine's sudden move of hugging him, if front of those people, confused him.

He tried to push but stopped in the middle, while he kept reminding himself that she was the fiancé of the man who caused him so much trouble, she wasn't someone he should care about.

Should he push her away and free himself from the awkwardness, that they were facing? But if he did, seeing how sensitive and fragile she was, she might feel even more by the embarrassment of the pushing her in front of those people.

On the other hand, if he let her stay like this on his chest, he would be the one feeling awkward and embarassment, and standing there with her head pressed against him in front of all these people, like a couple were hugging each other after having an fight.

And even worse, he might even draw unwanted attention from those, who didn't want him on the ship and make things more difficult for both of them.

Then, suddenly, a pair soft hands wrapped gently around his waist, and he felt two warm drops on his chest, passing through his shirt.

Looking down in surprise, he saw that she wasn't crying, but there was a deep sadness hidden beneath her gentle, beautiful face. He couldn't help but stopped his action.

"Aaryan, have you really forgotten me?" Catherine's voice was soft and gentle, almost trembling, like it was coming from her pure soul.

He stayed silent, his eyes fixed somewhere far away, not looking at her.

"You didn't even remember me," she said, swallowing the lump in her throat and not speaking of her heart.

"We met here, five and a half years ago, right by this, and the same Atlantic Ocean. The situation was almost the same. You saved me the first time, when i was in the danger."

She paused for a moment, searching his face. "Have you really forgotten all of that?"

"Have you really forgotten the promise you made to me?"

The moment she spoke, the last of Aaryan's defenses crumbled.

His body stiffened; for a moment, his mind went blank and piece of memory floated inside of his mind. He didn't know what to do.

Looking at Catherine, her body pressed close to his,

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

"Am I so bad and worthless that you can't fulfill the promise you made to me?"

Catherine's slow, hoarse voice reached his ears, making him freeze.

Taking a deep breath, he gently pushed her away and said quietly,

"I'm sorry, Miss Catherine.

I was naive then. My memories were chaotic because of something that happened at home. I lost parts of myself for a few months, and during that time, I just needed someone to care about me. I forgot I was married and came to you, searching for peace and found it in you."

After hearing what Aaryan said in response to her, Catherine laughed, but it was not the kind of laugh that expressed joy; but rather, it was a laugh filled with the sadness burried in the heart. And that was even worse.

"Haha… haha…!

Then, it's okay. then I was a tool for you, and I have been used, and now I will be thrown away. It's like when someone injures their leg and can't walk, they use crutches to stand, but once they can walk again, they throw the crutches away first."

"But I didn't care, about this."

"And to be honest, Aaryan, I was really happy to be your tool."

After that, she wiped away the tears from her eyes, quickly calmed herself, and regained the composure a princess should have.

She turned to leave.

However, as Aaryan thought about what he himself had said, he realized how it must have sounded. To anyone who heard, it would seem as if she had only been a tool to help him in his worst times, and was then discarded when she was no longer needed.

"Fuck…"

He cursed himself inwardly. He didn't know why, but something truly strange was happening inside him. Why had he said something so wrong and hurt her so deeply?

"Well, Catherine… I'm sorry, that was not my intention. At that time, my mind was really messed up." He quickly extended his hand to grab her shoulder, but she moved away.

"Aaryan, it's okay. Since you already have a wife like her, I will not meddle in your family affairs. But as your tool once before, I can become once again another time."

"Be careful. Daniel Rothemre and the two couples you offended in the saloon, they might kill you." Turning back, Catherine spoke again, but this time her gentle tone was very cold. It was no longer the warmth mixed with kindness she had shown before.

Hearing what she said, he wasn't truly surprised. When he was eating the dinner, he had already noticed their negative emotions through the system data; those couples' emotions were very intense, measured at -50.

So he was already prepared for this.

They looked into each other's eyes for a moment, unsure of what to say.

Finally, Catherine spoke last.

"I hope you will be loyal to her forever.

In the end, I made a fool of myself for five continuous years, thinking you might have some feelings for me.

Goodbye, my friend Aaryan… and my love, too, forever.

From now on, I will never interfere in your world, nor try to appear before you.

I loved you in vain, and it was all just my fantasy.

Bye…"

She left, leaving him alone among hundreds of people watching.

Aaryan didn't care about the crowd; he just gazed after her, guilt spreading across his face.
