Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Star Dou Great Forest

Back in his room, after washing up with Ning Tao's assistance, Ning Bei was still a little excited thinking about obtaining his first spirit ring tomorrow.

However, many fanfictions in his previous life described protagonists absorbing first spirit rings beyond their age limit, leaving them covered in blood, which made Ning Bei's heart pound.

"Ning Tao, did it hurt when you absorbed your first spirit ring?"

"Ah? No, it didn't. Why would Young Master ask that?"

Ning Tao looked at Ning Bei in confusion, not understanding why he would ask such a question.

"Hmm, then what was the age limit of your first spirit ring?"

Ning Tao pondered for a moment before replying:

"It was probably a Spirit Demon Tiger of around 280 years."

"I see."

Thinking that as a support Spirit Master, there was no need for him to try for an over-aged spirit ring, and that absorbing a normal-aged Spirit Beast wouldn't cause much pain, Ning Bei felt a little relieved.

Moreover, even if he wanted to absorb an over-aged spirit ring, his parents and the two Elders would never agree.

He was already the Sect Master's youngest child, usually doted upon, and now that he had awakened a Spirit with innate full spirit power, they treated him even more like a treasure. Absorb an over-aged spirit ring? Don't even think about it.

Ning Bei fell into a dream filled with anticipation, in which nine spirit rings appeared on his Dan Tower, the last one being a dazzling red spirit ring.

His peers in the Sect looked at his arrival, secretly whispering on the side:

"Look, it's Medicine God Douluo."

"It's really him, so handsome."

"Let's go, my kidneys haven't been well lately, I'm going to ask His Excellency Medicine God for a pill!"

The morning sun shone into the room, and Ning Bei lay sleeping soundly on the bed.

Knocks on the door echoed in his ears.

"Young Master, Young Master, time to get up! His Excellency Sword Douluo is waiting for you at the Sect entrance!"

Ning Bei rubbed his eyes and got up.

"Coming, why are you more excited than me, the one who's going to hunt a spirit ring?"

After Ning Tao helped him wash up, Ning Bei ate breakfast and arrived at the Sect entrance, where his parents and Chen Xin were already waiting.

"Bei'er, come here quickly."

Ning Mother waved to Ning Bei from afar.

After skillfully greeting the Elders, he came to Ning Mother's side.

"It's your first time traveling far, you must listen to Grandpa Sword, understand? Also, this is for you."

Ning Mother instructed Ning Bei while taking out a necklace and putting it around his neck.

"This is?"

"This is a storage spirit tool. It has twenty cubic meters of space. Mother has already put food, water, and your clothes inside. I was going to give it to you yesterday after you awakened your Spirit, but you ran off to the library."

Looking at the beautiful necklace on his chest, Ning Bei smiled happily. With spirit power and a storage spirit tool, storing things would be much more convenient in the future.

"Thank you, Mother!"

Ning Fengzhi also stepped forward and instructed:

"The Star Dou Great Forest is not like the Sect. Control your temperament, follow Grandpa Sword, and don't run too far."

"I know."

Then the couple nodded to Chen Xin.

After Chen Xin returned the greeting, he no longer lingered, summoning his Spirit, the Seven Kill Sword, which stood horizontally on the ground, and stepped onto it.

"Bei'er, come up."

It wasn't Ning Bei's first time riding Chen Xin's sword. When he first arrived, everything was new to him, and he had pestered Chen Xin to take him on a few flying experiences.

"Coming, Grandpa Sword."

He skillfully jumped onto the Seven Kill Sword and stood in front of Chen Xin.

"Let's go, Grandpa Sword."

The two ascended into the sky under the gaze of Ning Fengzhi and his wife, heading straight for the Star Dou Great Forest.

Clouds occasionally brushed past Ning Bei, yet he felt no stinging from the wind.

Chen Xin had enveloped him in a protective shield formed by spirit power.

After several hours of flying, the two arrived at their destination.

Jumping off the Seven Kill Sword, Ning Bei looked at the endless forest before him, a surge of excitement in his heart.

"Finally, I'm about to take the first step to becoming a Spirit Master."

As the two walked into the forest, it immediately grew darker. Towering trees blocked out the sunlight, and countless Blue Silver Grasses dotted the dark forest with specks of light, creating a magical visual experience.

"Bei'er, from now on, do not leave my side. The Star Dou Great Forest is full of threats."

"I understand, Grandpa Sword."

Seeing Ning Bei so obedient, Chen Xin smiled:

"You don't have to be constantly tense. I can handle a little danger."

"Our target this time is the Spirit Devouring Rhinoceros, a Spirit Beast that likes to absorb spiritual energy and feeds on Blue Silver Grass. So, we just need to look in places where Blue Silver Grass is dense, as its growth can also produce some spiritual energy."

"Then aren't these rhinoceroses already on a path to death?"

Ning Bei, seeing that he didn't have to wander around like a headless fly, nodded happily, grumbled to himself, and followed Chen Xin deeper into the forest.

Along the way, they occasionally encountered a few Spirit Beasts that didn't know their place, but Chen Xin merely released a hint of his aura to scare them away.

Before long, the two found a valley. The brightness in the valley was noticeably higher than on the path they had taken, indicating an abundance of Blue Silver Grass.

The two continued deeper into the valley and discovered several Spirit Beasts standing in place, lowering their heads to munch on the Blue Silver Grass on the ground. These were precisely their targets, the Spirit Devouring Rhinoceroses.

"We found them. To determine the age of a Spirit Devouring Rhinoceros, you need to look at the length of its tail. A tail less than ten centimeters indicates it's under a hundred years old, and for every hundred years after that, it adds ten centimeters."

Seeing that they had found their target, Chen Xin explained to Ning Bei how to determine the age of a Spirit Devouring Rhinoceros.

Following Chen Xin's method, he calculated the tail lengths of several Spirit Devouring Rhinoceroses and found one that was close to 400 years old.

"That one, Grandpa Sword."

"Alright."

As Chen Xin spoke, he disappeared from Ning Bei's side, reappearing above the target's head the next second, his speed so astonishing it made Ning Bei gasp.

"Titled Douluo, terrifying indeed."

He punched the unlucky Spirit Devouring Rhinoceros unconscious, grabbed it, and returned to Ning Bei's side, dropping the prey on the ground. The entire process took less than 3 seconds.

Ning Bei watched with envy, but as a small support Spirit Master, such a fighting style was ultimately not for him.

Chen Xin took out an exquisite dagger from his ring and handed it to Ning Bei.

"Bei'er, its eyes are its weak point. Come on."

Ning Bei took the dagger and swallowed, he hadn't even killed a chicken in his previous life or this one.

After 5 minutes of mental preparation, Ning Bei closed his eyes and ended the Spirit Devouring Rhinoceros's life with one stab. A yellow spirit ring floated up from the Spirit Devouring Rhinoceros's corpse.

"Release your Spirit, then try to guide the spirit ring with your spirit power."

Ning Bei immediately did as he was told. The spirit ring seemed to be attracted by the Dan Tower and slowly settled onto the tower body.

An hour quietly passed, and Ning Bei opened his eyes. Looking at the light yellow spirit ring on his Spirit, a joyful smile appeared on his face.

Seeing that Ning Bei had finished absorbing the spirit ring, Chen Xin stepped forward and asked:

"How is it, Bei'er? What's your Spirit Ability like?"
