Chapter 14 — Technique Reversal!
In the private office of Principal Yaga Masamichi at Tokyo Jujutsu High…
The air was thick with tension as Principal Yaga furiously jabbed his finger toward Gojo Satoru's face, his booming voice echoing off the walls.
"What the hell were you thinking?!"
"Just how dangerous was that Special Grade Curse that you had to blow up half a city block?!"
"You didn't just destroy a school building—you opened a gaping hole in the ground! Hey, Gojo Satoru! If you're so damn strong, why not just wipe out all of Tokyo while you're at it?! Do you have any idea how much effort and funding it takes to fix a crater that size?!"
And yet, Gojo didn't even flinch. He stroked his chin nonchalantly, his gaze drifting as if Yaga's rage was nothing more than background noise. Only after the scolding ended did he finally turn to Yaga, his voice surprisingly calm.
"Principal Yaga, I just recruited two new students for this school."
He paused for effect.
"Both of them are Special Grade."
Yaga froze. His jaw hung open mid-rebuke.

April 2017 — First-Year Classroom, Tokyo Jujutsu High
Due to Zenin Kyūjō's unexpected involvement, Yuta Okkotsu had enrolled a few months earlier than scheduled.
As a result, he joined the first-year class alongside the others. Zenin Mai had also followed suit, swayed by the chain of influence that seemed to ripple outward from Kyūjō.
That year's first-year roster at Tokyo Jujutsu High was an unusually notable one:
Zenin Kyūjō, Zenin Mai, and Zenin Maki from the Zenin Clan.
Inumaki Toge, a Cursed Speech user from the Inumaki family.
Panda, an "Anomalous Cursed Corpse" crafted by Principal Yaga himself, boasting human-level intelligence and growth potential.
And of course, the Special Grade wildcard—Yuta Okkotsu.
According to early assessments, Zenin Kyūjō's abilities were already on par with a Semi Grade 1 sorcerer.
Kyūjō himself didn't seem to care much about the ranking, but Gojo… Gojo quietly took note. Another black mark added to the already growing list of grievances he had with the higher-ups on the Jujutsu Supervisory Board.
— — —
But on the very first day of class—before Kyūjō could even learn a single formal technique from the school—Gojo had already dragged him into a new role.
Substitute teacher.
Kyūjō was suddenly placed at the front of the class, tasked with teaching close-combat techniques to all the new students.
Even Gojo Satoru, their actual homeroom teacher, was seated like a regular student in the back row—listening intently to the lesson without a hint of resistance.
To Gojo, knowledge was never bound by rank. Anyone more skilled than him had every right to teach. And if Kyūjō had the edge in martial arts and bodily control, then so be it.
As the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer alive, Gojo was always chasing growth—and in Kyūjō, he saw a rare opportunity.
Truthfully… Kyūjō's current strength and age made Gojo feel a tiny bit pressured.
— — —
Standing at the podium, Zenin Kyūjō looked out over the classroom, his calm eyes scanning every face—including Gojo's—before speaking in his usual composed tone.
"To be honest, I'm more used to fighting Jujutsu Sorcerers than Cursed Spirits… or rather, fighting other humans."
"I've always seen the human body as an incredibly intricate machine. It's made up of 206 bones, 639 muscles, nearly 250 trillion blood vessels, and an uncountable number of nerves. Every small movement you make engages all of these systems."
"Setting aside Curse Energy and Cursed Techniques, today I'll be teaching you how to breathe in a way that optimizes your control over muscles, blood flow, and skeletal alignment. In other words… how to fully unlock your body's potential."
The way Kyūjō spoke—calm, grounded, yet filled with depth—captivated the entire classroom. Even Gojo's eyes sparkled, as if a new world had just opened before him.
Only two people seemed unimpressed: Zenin Mai and Zenin Maki. They had already received this exact lesson before from Kyūjō.
— — —
'So... the human body really holds this much untapped strength?' Gojo mused to himself, visibly amazed.
He was more convinced than ever that letting Kyūjō handle their physical and martial arts training had been a brilliant decision.
In fact, he was starting to seriously consider something else.
What if Kyūjō became a permanent instructor at Tokyo Jujutsu High?
Just imagine it—one teacher focusing on Cursed Techniques and Energy Control, while another specialized in martial arts and physical mastery. A perfect balance.
— — —
Gojo's Six Eyes allowed him to observe details others would miss entirely.
But even with that advantage, he wouldn't have noticed it without Kyūjō's explanation.
That breathing pattern… it wasn't normal.
A respiration technique that directly trained the body? That was well beyond Gojo's expectations.
Curious, he instinctively tried to imitate it.
Kyūjō noticed, of course. A subtle smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, but he said nothing. Let Gojo experiment. After all, this was a small revenge for being thrown into teaching without warning.
He already knew what would happen next.
And sure enough—
"Khhk—ack, cough! …Ugh!"
Gojo doubled over in a coughing fit, breaking the serene focus in the classroom. Every student turned toward him.
Kyūjō couldn't help but chuckle quietly.
Did Gojo really think he could copy the technique just like that?
If Kyūjō had still been using the original version of Thunder Breathing, maybe Gojo would've been able to replicate it by sight alone.
But from the second generation onward, each version of Kyūjō's breathing techniques had been refined to perfectly match his unique physiology. Even the slightest mismatch would render the technique unstable or even dangerous.
If Gojo really could master it in a single glance… then perhaps he wouldn't just be Japan's strongest sorcerer—he'd be the strongest in the entire multiverse.
As the students gawked and Kyūjō's laughter continued, Gojo's face flushed red. He quickly recalibrated the cursed energy inside his body and activated his Reversed Cursed Technique.
In an instant, he was perfectly fine again.
But at that exact moment—
Zenin Kyūjō's eyes widened.
Something had just happened.
Just now… that wasn't cursed energy.
It was positive energy—the exact opposite of cursed energy.
Leaping down from the podium, Kyūjō rushed over and stood beside Gojo. He activated his perception field fully—stretching the boundary of Infinity—and his voice trembled with excitement.
"Gojo-sensei! Just now, what technique did you use? Can you do that again?!"
— — —
Seeing the serious look on Zenin Kyūjō's face—one that clearly wasn't joking—Gojo Satoru fell silent for a brief moment. Then, shifting his gaze to the first-year students, he began explaining in a calm and gentle tone.
"That thing earlier? What I just did was a special type of Cursed Technique—more specifically, it's called a Reversed Cursed Technique."
"Normally, Cursed Energy is a form of negative energy born from human emotions. In essence, it's destructive and aggressive by nature."
"But the Reversed Cursed Technique operates differently. It uses two streams of Cursed Energy flowing in opposite directions and compresses them into one point—creating a 'negative times negative equals positive' effect. The result is a kind of energy that heals instead of destroys. Positive Energy."
"When directed toward oneself or others, this energy has a powerful restorative effect."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"In theory, because this technique doesn't require activating any innate technique, anyone who can control Cursed Energy should be able to do it. But in reality... only a few Jujutsu Sorcerers ever manage to pull it off. The reason is simple—the level of control and precision required is on a whole other level."
Gojo sighed lightly and smiled.
"And since we're already on the topic of Reversed Cursed Technique, I might as well introduce its close cousin: Cursed Technique Reversal."
"Normally, a sorcerer channels their Cursed Energy into their innate technique—the one they were born with. This is called Cursed Technique Amplification, or Shunten (順転). It's the standard way of using your technique."
"But if you instead channel the Positive Energy created from the Reversed Cursed Technique into your innate technique, the result is called Cursed Technique Reversal, or Hanten (反転)."
"Take me for example," Gojo said, gesturing at himself. "When I use my Limitless technique with normal amplification—Shunten—it manifests as a pulling gravitational force known as Blue."
"But if I apply Reversed Cursed Energy into it, it flips into Red, a repulsive force that pushes things away."
"For now, this might sound overly complicated, especially for you first-years... but that's the basic theory behind it. Make sense?"
Silence.
Not because they understood—but because their brains were completely fried. The classroom was so quiet, it might as well have been a library.
All the first-year students wore blank, overwhelmed expressions. It was like someone had handed them an ancient manuscript in a language they didn't even recognize.
But... unfortunately...
Among them was someone who didn't belong in that category.
Someone whose comprehension—and existence—defied logic.

Reversed Cursed Technique:
Controlling two opposing streams of Cursed Energy and merging them into one to create a healing positive force...
'...Doesn't sound that hard,' Kyūjō thought to himself.
In less than a second, he put it into practice.
Calmly, he gathered two currents of Cursed Energy within his body, twisted them together into one, and produced Positive Energy—then channeled it into his innate technique.
Instantly, Cursed Technique Reversal activated.
Just like before, a familiar long sword materialized in Kyūjō's hand.
But this time…
The moment he grasped the blade, something strange happened.
His "Infinity Perception"—a core aspect of his sensory ability—suddenly vanished.
And in its place...
A torrent of raw, incomprehensible Cursed Energy surged from his soul—an energy so destructive it could be described as world-ending.
Even the tiny fraction that leaked from Kyūjō's body... was enough to shake the earth beneath Tokyo Jujutsu High. Buildings trembled, tilting ever so slightly.
This was a school fortified with multiple layers of barriers, sealing formations, and complex spiritual defenses. Not even a full-on earthquake could normally scratch it.
But with just one second of Kyūjō's power slipping free...
Every Jujutsu Sorcerer and Cursed Spirit around the globe—any being connected to Cursed Energy—felt a wave of fear tear into their souls. Not just death... but something far worse.
And just like that—
Kyūjō cut off the Reversal flow.
In an instant, the overwhelming pressure disappeared. Gone. As if it had never been there to begin with.
— — —
Back inside the classroom...
Everyone—including Gojo Satoru, the man hailed as the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer alive—stared at Zenin Kyūjō like they had just witnessed a monster.
What they had seen... was a level of Cursed Power strong enough to obliterate the planet.
Seconds passed in heavy silence.
Then, voices echoed from the courtyard. Senior sorcerers and monitors were rushing toward the room.
Gojo quickly stepped closer to Kyūjō and whispered in a panicked voice.
"Umm... Zenin Kyūjō-kun. I don't know what the hell that just was, but... please. I'm begging you. For the sake of all humanity—don't ever use that Reversal again!"
"This Earth is our home. We're not asking you to protect it... but at least, don't destroy it..."
For the first time ever, Gojo Satoru—usually cocky and unbothered—spoke with a sincerity that mirrored the fearmongering elders of the Jujutsu Council.
Like them, he had the same passing thought:
Should I eliminate the threat... before it grows?
Because in his eyes... Zenin Kyūjō was no longer just a student.
He was a walking nuclear bomb.
But Gojo also knew—he didn't have the strength to stop him.
And even if he did... would he really go through with it?
That question echoed inside his heart.
Fortunately, Kyūjō answered him, calmly and sincerely.
"Sorry, everyone. I didn't expect it to turn out like that either."
Looking around at everyone, Kyūjō continued, his voice quiet but firm.
"But don't worry. This world is my home too. I would never destroy it... even if it means dying to protect it."
And silently, in his heart, he added:
Whether in my past life… or in this one… this little planet will always be my home.
— — —
Later, Kyūjō finally understood why his Cursed Technique Reversal had caused such devastation.
All this time, the sword that appeared with his innate technique was just a manifestation.
The real core of his Cursed Technique Amplification was the Infinity Perception—his ability to enhance his senses beyond all limits.
But when the Reversed Cursed Technique was applied...
That perception vanished completely—along with every limiter that had been suppressing his soul's connection to the world.
And when that happened...
Kyūjō's soul, which far surpassed that of any normal human, unleashed a Cursed Energy so vast the world could barely contain it.
To make matters worse...
Infinity Perception had always acted like an automatic control system.
Without it, Kyūjō couldn't regulate his output properly.
That was why... even with only a small portion of his power leaking out... the entire world nearly collapsed.
And from that moment on, Zenin Kyūjō was recognized—not officially, but truthfully—as the greatest threat on Earth.
A living bomb.
One so powerful... even the act of breathing wrong could erase the world as they knew it.
