"What...are you..?"
"Im a vampire. Like you said. You know what i am."
She gripped my jaw harder, her nails digging into the flesh of my cheeks as she finished her sentence. Her eyes narrowed as they stared into my soul. "No you're not." I objected.
"Well, you are, but- you're not..just a vampire. I know you're not. I can feel it."
She stopped breathing. Seconds flew by as she stayed silent, her face dropping from a smirk to a neutral expression. I couldn't tell what it was, but it was unnerving. I couldn't tell if she was upset, sad, scared, anything. She looked like she wasn't even all there.
"You're lying to me." I say after a few seconds, breaking the silence.
"Why would i lie to you?"
Her voice got deeper as she loosened her grip on my jaw. She looked nearly offended now. I watched her hand fall back to her side as she looked at me more intently, which i didn't even think was possible with how she hasn't blinked this entire time she's been staring at me like i'm a fucking steak.
She chuckled and i flinched, then looked up at her confused.
"You know i know what you're thinking, right?" she reminds me, and i grumble.
"Unfortunately."
i cross my arms. "Don't change the subject. tell
me what else you are."
she immediately went back from being amused to that neutral look. it pissed me off not knowing what was happening in her head.
"I don't know what you're talking about." she said slowly and firmly, frog blinking at me.
"All i am is a vampire. What's your deal?" her words came quicker, laced with irritation.
I furrow my brows in response. i open my mouth to speak again, but-
Holy shit.
I could barely blink. i heard a light scoff and then..
she disappeared.
All i did was blink!
I stand up straight, looking around me, slightly panicked. I look up, down, and turn around to look behind me. She's no where. What the fuck??
I hear a "psst". but i don't see anybody. i hear another one, longer this time. i spin around, still no sight of anybody.
"No matter how much you look, you're not going to see me."
i hear her voice, but it's almost as if it's in my head.
You've got to be joking. She's not IN my head, right? That's just not possible. Weird. Creepy. Scary. Ew. Get out.
I get lost in thought while i ponder where she could be and why her voice is echoing as if it's inside of me. I feel a tap on my shoulder and i flinch, spinning around to see her with that smug look on her face like she'd gotten away with something.
"Hi."
I raise my brow. She's talking to me..but her mouth isn't moving. she's standing in front of me with her arms crossed under her chest and her eyes burning a hole into mine, but..
"Catch on already, jeez."
I hear her voice again, but i still can't see her mouth move, not even a muscle of her body twitches.
"Are you-"
"in your head?" she responds before i could finish. "yes. i am."
