Seeing how swiftly Black Zetsu had mobilized his forces, Kazama smirked to himself.
"Alright, Black Zetsu, if you're so eager to taste defeat, I'll make it happen!"
"Lord Kazama, should we turn on Black Zetsu now?"
"No need!"
Kazama's eyes gleamed as a plan formed in his mind.
"You guys keep playing along with Black Zetsu for now. When the time is right, I'll give the signal to strike."

With that, Obito vanished, hurrying back to Black Zetsu's side since it wasn't yet time to betray him.
Kazama's reason for holding off on having Obito and the others turn on Black Zetsu was simple. He wanted to wait until Black Zetsu was at the peak of his confidence, then have Obito and the others strike.
That way, Black Zetsu would be hit with the bitter taste of despair.
And in that moment of desperation, he'd be forced to revive Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
"Enemy attack! We're under attack!"
At that moment, Konoha's guards spotted Black Zetsu's massive army of White Zetsu and Edo Tensei shinobi.

"Damn it! Quickly notify our allied nations and request reinforcements!"

Before Tsunade could finish, Shizune came running over in a panic.
"Our allies—Sunagakure, Kumogakure, Kirigakure, and Iwagakure—are all under attack too! They're requesting our reinforcements!"

With Konoha in crisis once again, Tsunade pinned her hopes on Kazama.
"Kazama took Naruto to the Land of Lightning for training. He hasn't returned yet."
"Why is it that every time things get critical, that kid's nowhere to be found?"
"Lady Tsunade, you're selling me short. When have I ever not shown up at a crucial moment?"
Just as Tsunade and the others were at their wits' end, Kazama appeared before her.
