"How could he just vanish like that? Could an enemy after the Kyubi's power have taken him?"
Kazama, rushing back, immediately questioned Tsunade.
"It's very possible. The Martial Arts Tournament was held in the Hi no Kuni (Land of Fire), so shinobi from other nations came to visit Konoha. Our defenses were slacker than usual, and the enemy must've seized the chance to snatch Naruto!"
"Have you sent the Anbu to search?"
Kazama was burning with anxiety. Naruto was his comrade, after all. And if Naruto's Kyubi chakra was extracted by the enemy, Kazama wouldn't be able to absorb the Kyubi to gain the Jubi's power.
Sigh!
Hearing Kazama's question, Tsunade shook her head helplessly.
"We've sent several teams of shinobi, but there's no trace of Naruto."
"Damn it!"
Kazama unleashed his superhuman sensory ability, scanning everything within hundreds of miles, but still found no sign of Naruto.
"What do we do now?"
As Kazama and Tsunade stood at a loss, Shino, Kiba, and Hinata, who'd been part of the search, walked in.
"Reporting to Tsunade-sama, if we want to find Naruto, we might be able to use the Bikochu (Micro-Scent Bug)," Shino suggested.
"The Bikochu? The one that can track a target by scent, even from thousands of miles away?" Tsunade asked, astonished.
"Exactly!"
"But I thought the Bikochu was extinct. Does your Aburame clan still have any?"
"No, but the Aburame clan has detected signs of the Bikochu recently in Hi no Kuni. If we search the Land of Fire, we might find its trail!"
"Do you know how big Hi no Kuni is? Searching bit by bit would take months at best!" Tsunade said with a bitter smile.
"It won't take that long!"
Kazama stepped up to Shino.
"Shino, draw the Bikochu's appearance right now. As long as it's in Hi no Kuni, I'll find it!"
"That's impossible!"
Shino, Tsunade, and the others were skeptical at Kazama's claim. Still, Shino handed him a sketch of the Bikochu.
Once Kazama knew what the Bikochu looked like, he activated his superhuman sensory ability again, amplifying it to its limit with Susano'o. Within a few breaths, he'd located the bug.
"Found it! It's in Ransei-koku (Chaos Stone Valley) in southern Hi no Kuni!"
"What?!"
"That fast?!"
Tsunade, Shino, and the others were floored. Tsunade had assumed it would take Kazama days, even at his fastest. But in mere seconds, he'd pinpointed the Bikochu. She was thoroughly impressed, while Shino and the others stood frozen, stunned by Kazama's otherworldly sensory prowess.
"Alright, then! Shino, head back and pack your gear to help Kazama tame the Bikochu!"
"No need to pack. Let's go now!"
Tsunade gave an awkward chuckle at Kazama's urgency.
"Kazama, you don't understand. Ransei-koku in southern Hi no Kuni is far from Konoha. Even at top speed, it's a three-day trip. If you don't pack, what will you eat or where will you sleep on the way?"
"Don't worry, Tsunade-sama. Forget Hi no Kuni—I can reach anywhere in the Shinobi world in an instant!"
As Kazama spoke, fiery wings formed from Hakkou Hametsu'en (Eight Desolations Destruction Flame) sprouted from his back.
Tsunade and Shino stumbled back in shock. They'd never seen someone grow wings, let alone ones made of fire.
"Let's go, Shino!"
Before Shino could process his shock, Kazama had already whisked him into the sky. In mere moments, they arrived at Ransei-koku in southern Hi no Kuni.
"Holy—! This… this…"
Even Shino, who usually played it cool, collapsed to the ground, overwhelmed by shock.
"No wonder everyone calls Kazama a monstrous genius. Seeing it firsthand, the rumors don't do him justice!"
"You brats! Looks like you're after the Bikochu too, huh?"
As Shino reeled from Kazama's insane speed, three menacing shinobi appeared, surrounding them.
