Kuoh Academy — Student Council Room
The atmosphere in the room was charged with a heavy silence, almost audible in its weight.
Sona sat on one of the sofas with quiet dignity, her back straight, glasses glinting under the room's light, while Tsubaki stood behind her with unwavering poise, like a pillar of discipline that did not budge.
On the opposite sofa, Rias sat in a completely different manner; her arms folded beneath her chest, one leg crossed over the other in a gesture that exuded confidence… and perhaps a hint of provocation.
Behind her, Akeno stood with her usual calm smile, suggesting softness and playfulness… yet her eyes always concealed something deeper, something more dangerous.
The tension between the two groups was enough to make any ordinary person freeze in place.
"You've heard about it… right?"
Sona asked in a calm voice, lifting her hand to adjust her glasses with her habitual elegant motion, before continuing directly, leaving Rias no time to dodge:
"Our administrative authority over Kuoh Town has been revoked, and its governance will be handed over to the new heir of the Beal Clan."
She paused for a moment, as if granting the words their full weight, then added in a steady tone:
"The rights to govern Kuoh Town originally belong to the Beal Clan."
Rias's expression did not change much, but her eyes narrowed slightly, as if weighing the words carefully in her mind.
"Yes…"
She said softly but firmly, reclining back on the sofa while keeping her arms crossed.
"I received the news this morning."
She tilted her head slightly toward Sona, a small smile forming—neither warm nor cold—on her lips:
"But for it to happen this quickly…? It seems the Beal Clan is eager to reclaim what they consider rightfully theirs."
Tsubaki raised an eyebrow slightly but remained completely silent.
Akeno covered her mouth with her fingers, suppressing a deliberate small laugh:
"Hah… the new Beal heir, huh. Must be an interesting person."
Sona paid her no attention, continuing her speech with focus:
"According to official documents, all administrative, security, and diplomatic powers concerning the city will be transferred to the heir… within a single week."
"A week?!"
Rias raised her eyebrow this time, clearly impatient.
"That's faster than I expected."
Sona nodded slowly, as if confirming an undeniable truth:
"Yes. And this speed…"
She paused, then looked directly into Rias's eyes.
"Indicates that they do not want any objections."
Rias exchanged a brief glance with Akeno—one of those silent looks that carried many meanings.
Then she turned back to Sona:
"Do we have information about this heir? Their identity, age… their strength?"
A brief silence cut through the air.
Then Sona spoke in a lower tone:
"Nothing confirmed yet. All we know… is that they are a recent emergence."
Rias's shoulders stiffened slightly.
"A recent emergence? Or have they been hiding all along?"
Sona did not answer immediately.
But one thing was clear:
The appearance of the Beal heir—whatever their name—would shift the balance of power in Kuoh… and perhaps beyond.
"In fact…"
Sona said, raising her glasses again, but this time the movement was slower… heavier.
The room's light reflected off her lenses, obscuring her eyes for a moment before she continued in a low tone, carrying a hint of warning:
"I contacted Onee-sama and asked her directly about the identity of the other party."
She took a calm breath, as if choosing her words carefully.
"And shockingly… the heir is not a Pure-Blooded Devil."
Rias's confident smile froze, her composure faltering briefly in a moment she could not completely hide.
Akeno tilted her head lightly, her smile tightening as if savoring the sound of the problem before it could be seen.
Sona continued with greater seriousness:
"Nevertheless… it seems they have inherited the Power of Destruction."
Time in the room seemed to stop for a moment—as if the air itself had frozen.
Then she added in an even heavier tone:
"And worse… their power surpasses that of High-Class Devils."
She lifted her eyes directly to Rias.
"There's a high possibility it reaches the level of Ultimate-Class Devils."
Rias's lashes twitched slightly—a rare sign of shock.
Even Akeno's usual calm smile faded for a second before slowly returning.
Tsubaki remained silent… but her fist clenched slightly behind Sona.
Heavy seconds passed before Rias spoke in a low voice:
"If this is true… then the new heir is not just an administrator of a city."
"But…"
Sona paused, as if ensuring Rias was ready for what was to come.
Her calm eyes gained an unusual weight, and her voice lowered almost to a whisper:
"The shocking thing… is not just that."
Everyone exchanged glances; even Akeno's smile disappeared for a moment.
Sona continued, her tone heavier than before:
"We have met this heir before."
Rias raised an eyebrow, caution rising in her eyes:
"Met… them? Who?"
Sona answered clearly, as if dropping a stone into a still lake:
"It's Kurosaki Ren."
Rias's eyes widened in genuine shock this time.
Akeno placed her hand on her chin, a small—uneasy—smile appearing:
"He…?"
Sona nodded slowly:
"Yes. Ren, who belongs to the Shinigami faction."
Then she added sharply:
"And now… it seems he carries a new name: Kurosaki Beal Ren."
Silence fell over the room once again.
But this time… it was not the silence of political tension.
It was the silence of dangerous realization:
That the person they thought was merely an anomaly—or a potential threat—had now become part of one of the most powerful clans in the Underworld… with official authority.
Rias took a deep breath, her voice low:
"So… the new heir is someone not just outside our system… but outside the world of devils entirely."
Sona replied:
"Yet… he carries the Power of Destruction… and potentially at a strength reaching Ultimate-Class."
Again, the air in the room became too heavy to breathe easily.

At the same time
Ren was inspecting the mansion the old man Zekram had prepared for him in Kuoh Town, unaware of the discussions the Sitri and Gremory Clans had inherited.
Even if he knew, he wouldn't care much, as he had become the Beal Clan heir only because of Misaki—he was not particularly interested in the matter.
Although he already owned his own mansion on the border between Kuoh Town and Karakura Town, the old man Zekram insisted on preparing a mansion for him in Kuoh Town, since he was the city's ruler and should at least have a residence there.
The mansion before him resembled a piece of art more than a residential building.
Its luxury surpassed Hyoudou Residence's six floors by far; it looked like a bold announcement that the Beal Clan heir had arrived.
The front facade stretched across a vast area, with a black iron gate engraved with the Bael emblem intertwined with a faint spiritual pattern that shimmered whenever someone passed by.
Behind the gate, the mansion rose with a design combining classical Western style and the distinctive magical touches of Underworld nobility: massive marble columns, wide balconies, stone statues, and artistic panels everywhere.
When Ren entered the main hall, he found a ceiling reaching tens of meters high, with a massive chandelier hanging down, made of spiritual crystal pieces emitting a soft blue light.
The floor was dark marble, with faint red lines resembling the effect of the Power of Destruction, carefully restrained.
Ren opened his mouth slightly—not in admiration… but a mixture of fatigue and his usual indifference toward the exaggeration that nobles loved.
"This is… a lot. Really a lot." — he muttered unenthusiastically as he walked through the hall.
