Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Atlantis Restaurant

A red-haired gangster rushed towards Arthur with a knife. With a powerful kick, the gangster flew back through the air and hit the beach hard.

Arthur withdrew his raised leg. "Very well, since you've made me extremely pissed, I'll ensure you feel the consequences of your actions!" Arthur said to the gangsters with a blank expression.

Arthur charged into the crowd like a tiger, punching through each gangsters one by one. In the blink of an eye, more than a dozen gangsters were lying on the ground; with only the bald man who remained standing.

The bald man swallowed hard. He hadn't expected to run into such a troublesome person today. Still, he didn't panic. He pulled a pistol from his clothes, pointed it at Arthur, and said, "Stay away from me you freak or I swear to God I'll put a bullet in your head!"

Arthur pouted and looked at him amusedly. "I don't know what gave you the balls to point that toy at me."

"Stop talking nonsense, don't move, or I will kill you!"

"I bet you don't even any have bullets in your gun..." Arthur countered.

The bald man was completely enraged and was about to pull the trigger. However, Arthur vanished and instantly appeared before him grabbing the hand holding the gun.

"Ah..." The bald man screamed as Arthur twisted his wrist, making the pistol fall to the ground.

Then, Arthur kicked the bald man in the stomach, sending him flying into a coconut tree, where he passed out.

"It's done!" Arthur clapped his hands, then turned to look at Jack and the guests, who stood there dumbfounded, staring at Arthur blankly.

Jack called the police, and after taking notes, the police took away the gangsters. Before leaving, the police chief looked at Arthur with a strange expression.

The "Lone Wolf" gang was notoriously difficult to deal with in this area, and unexpectedly, they had been taken care of by a young restaurant owner.

...

The restaurant resumed normal business, and Arthur became quite famous in the local area. The local gangsters had heard that the Lone Wolf gang had fallen to the owner of Atlantis Restaurant, and none of them dared to cause trouble at the restaurant again.

Atlantis Restaurant recently introduced new dishes. The restaurant has recently hired a Chinese chef to introduce several Chinese dishes to the restaurant's menu.

Arthur sat in a corner of the restaurant, happily eating a plate of Yangzhou fried rice. There were also two side dishes on the table: stir-fried shredded pork with green peppers and mapo tofu.

He had finally gotten to taste the familiar flavors of his homeland again after so long due to him hiring a new chef named Zhao Long from Chongqing, China.

Zhao Long had come to New York alone to build a career. He had originally opened a small Chinese restaurant, but he encountered local gangsters who kept harassing and extorting him. The income he earned was entirely being use for the protection fees he was forced to pay, so he had reluctantly closed his restaurant.

Zhao Long could only find work part-time in other New York restaurants. Yesterday, he came here, to one of the most famous restaurants to try his luck, hoping to apply for a waiter position. He heard that this restaurant's business had been booming and they treated their employees very generously.

Unexpectedly, Zhao Long was recognized by the boss at a glance and was asked to be the restaurant's chef, with a very high salary. Zhao Long felt that he was chosen by the goddess of luck. He cherished the job very much and decided to do his best as the chef of Atlantis Restaurant.

"The boss seems to like Chinese food very much, that's great!" said Zhao Long to himself while watching Arthur devour his meal.

At the end of another busy day for Atlantis Restaurant, Arthur, was holding a meeting with a few of his employees.

His team consisted of three chefs—Jack, Zhao Long, and Mike—and three waitresses—Lina, Isa, and Omilie. Arthur looked at his six employees and felt a sense of leadership.

After discussing the new dishes and the ingredients needed in the kitchen with everyone, Arthur ended the meeting so everyone could go home and rest.

"See you tomorrow, boss."

"Goodbye, boss."

The girls bid farewell to Arthur affectionately, hoping that their young and handsome boss would ask them on a date.

"See you tomorrow." Arthur replied with a smile, sensing they were thinking way too much.

There was nothing he could do about the overly eager girls. Arthur said goodbye to them, locked the restaurant door, and came to the beach alone.

Arthur stood on the reef by the sea and looked at the rough waves hitting the reef, soaking his clothes. He didn't even notice.

"It feels like the beginning of the plot is getting closer and closer." Arthur had been paying close attention to the latest information on key MCU figure through the Internet.

"The Jericho missile, newly developed by Stark Industries, was been ordered in great numbers by many countries!"

"Genius scientist Bruce Banner is missing after a lab accident due to a mysterious failed experiment!"

Looking at these two seemingly "normal" news articles, Arthur knew that the plot of the Marvel Universe was about to begin.

After thoroughly researching about this world through the Internet, news and history, Arthur has confirmed without a doubt that this was the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He had thanked every deity he knew that this wasn't the comic book version. He'd be nothing but Atlantean fodder if it was.

This was because there was no news of mutants or the X-Men or even Charles Xavier in this world, and there was no new about Superman or Batman which meant DC heroes had not "invaded." He still couldn't explain how he even got the powers of Aquaman? He just chalked it up to his powers being a special gift from God.

To cope with the stress and fear of the approaching plot, Arthur has sped up his training trying to become as powerful as possible before then. He needed to eat a lot of food every day, due to exercising daily, and swim to the bottom of the ocean every night to absorb the sea's energy.

He found that the deeper he went, the faster he could absorb energy, he was very happy that there was a way to continuously become stronger.

Arthur jumped high into the air and dove into the water with barely a splash before swimming down into the bottomless trench.
