"Xie Daiyu!" Ruan Chanchan yelled after the mer. "You better stop running before I lose my temper."
"I cannot stop!" he yelled back. "I have a feeling that you are going to hit me."
"I will not hit you."
"Do you promise?"
"I do not!"
"Then there is no way I am stopping!" no matter how Xie Daiyu thought about it, the disadvantages outweighed the advantages. There was no way he was going to stop.
Ruan Chanchan gritted her teeth and followed the mer, who dashed towards the riverbank.
And it was a bad idea. A really bad one because Ruan Chanchan knew this path like the back of her hand. There was a time when she sneaked through these paths without anyone knowing. How could she not know which turn to take to catch this mer? She shifted on his feet and then went to the slope that she knew would help her in catching Xie Daiyu.
Before Xie Daiyu could realise what was happening and skid to a halt, he was already falling straight into her arms.
