Chapter 3 - Breakthrough Pt.1a

Denora

My purple hair sways in motion with my body, as victor twirls me around for the slow dance we are having. The music is so soft and peaceful. It's new to my ears, very different from anything I've ever heard before.

We seem to be in a private place, away from prying eyes but the room felt rather familiar to be in. Almost like I'd been there before. I couldn't remember where but my consciousness knew this.

His eyes were dilated and staring into mine. This particular room had no roof so the night sky full of stars and the moon is very visible. Victor is dressed like royalty, with black tailored trousers, a double-breasted tuxedo coat, beautified with medals and show-stopping shoulder pads. His shoulder length off black hair is bouncing back as the curls respond to my touch. Victor's lips curved and turned to a light smile when he noticed where my hands went. "You're so Beautiful Nora." He whispered in my ear as he kissed my forehead.

His breath became heavy against my neck as he pulled away. His ocean blue eyes roamed the golden ball dress I was wearing. It was embroidered and woven with so much precision and detail.

I smiled at the compliment but my gaze carried me away and couldn't help but notice another handsome man, staring at me from across a corner. He is impeccably dressed in a white shirt, a black velvet cutaway tailcoat, crisp white and fitted trousers with polished black leather boots. His eyes were green and they glowed even more in the moonlight. There was a bit of stubble on his face and he had a huge grin on when he noticed I was watching him.

The energy from within me leaped in excitement from the attention I got from this unknown man. My attention pulled away from him when a dark shadowy figure emerged from above us. The body of this strange being has four arms and about 6 eyes. It appeared to be on a black horse that is connected to its shadow body. In one of the hands, I see a dark ball of energy. It lifted this arm in the air and aimed the dark ball at me. Victor reacted immediately, pulling me behind him as he used his hands to dodge the attack from the strange creature.

I was still recovering and unable to use my powers but I tuned into the thoughts of the creature and picked up echoes of pain and betrayal. The handsome man from the corner, ran towards our direction and transformed into a Grey werewolf.

His fur was so shiny to look at and his height as a wolf was even bigger. He launched an attack at the creature, using His sharp teeth to tear and weaken it. He lifted his face into the sky and howled at the moon. The creature wailed in pain and began to withdraw from us. The wolf walked away from it and came towards me.

Victor brought out his shiny enchanted sword and pointed it at the Grey wolf. But the wolf did not give a care in the world since his intense green eyes were fast on me. A sound from the atmosphere began to ring and cloud the scene in front of me.

"Denora. are you in there?" Simon said as he yelled knocking on my room door. His voice woke me up, drawing me out of my dream. I had fallen asleep with tears in my eyes, thinking about how I was going to attempt returning to Esmien later at night.

That wasn't the first time I was having such a dream. I knew my heart missed victor, but who was the Grey wolf? Who was this green-eyed handsome man? Why did he feel obligated to save me?

I picked my phone up and checked the time. 7pm. A few more minutes till the full moon came to sight. I got up from my bed to unlock the door. Simon walked in, dressed in a Grey hoody and sweat pants, holding a back pack of a few of his clothes. He dropped it on my bed which had floral bed sheets on it. He looked at me in a confused manner.

"Why haven't you packed anything yet Denora? What were you up to all day?" He asked me, scanning my room, a look of disappointment on his face when he saw I had not packed a bag. I was wearing a purple vest and black shorts.

"I was asleep Simon. I need my energy." I replied him walking over to my wardrobe to take out a small bag of mine. The reason I didn't pack anything is because the kind of clothes worn here aren't the same as in Esmien. Simon didn't know this but I couldn't ruin the fun. He approached my bed and sat on it. He adjusted his glasses to sit properly on the bridge of his pointy nose.

Aunt Ruth, Simon's mom barged into my room putting a feeling of shock in Simon and I. Her breathing became fast paced. I didn't understand why she was feeling this way. I decided to dive into her thoughts. I could sense it. A dark wave of energy, almost like it was getting stronger by the minute. It was the same feeling I got when I saw that strange creature in my dream. Could it be the same entity?

"What's wrong mom?" Simon asked as he stood up and went to her side, he used his hands to guide her to my bed so she could sit, but she refused.

'We don't have a lot of time." She said to me, her voice trailing off with eyes filled with worry. Aunt Ruth used her powers to lift the bag I brought out earlier, and began to load them with things she knew that I would need.

"You need to leave for Esmien now Denora. Quick, help me pack your things. Simon, go and fetch my staff and bring me the rune box." She commanded. Simon nodded and ran out as fast as he could. I had never seen her this agitated before.
