Free looked up and his expression changed from caution to pure surprise, the person patting his and Sylvia's head was non other than Okoto, a joyful grin on his face and his big bag tug tightly to him.
"O-Okoto! How are you here!?" He asked, Okoto just grin and pulled his hand back, then pointed to the mansion where the decoration for the night's party was getting a final touch.
"Cause i'm invited too!" he announced, Sylvia now sitting, just smiled and Free sighed.
'How did he got invited..." he thought turning to Okoto, just then Iris came running and she jumped onto Okoto hugging him tightly.
"Uncle! You're late!!" she yelled with a laugh, Okoto laugh loudly, swinging her around with his arm.
"W-wait! She said uncle!!!" Free and Sylvia yelled in sync, Okoto laugh and gave a nod putting Iris on the ground.
"Never told you, but my full name is Okoto von reys, second son of Reys family!" he said, Free was stunned and Sylvia was shocked, all this time Philip was beating and joking with Okoto without telling them he was a part of nobility.
"I-i didn't know that," Free muttered, slightly angered at his father and slightly concerned about the few spells he launch at Okoto when Okoto was staying at his house. 'I hope he won't recall that time when Hinata stabbed him with a dagger in the butt' He thought, sweat pouring down his neck.
"Y-you never told us you were a noble" Sylvia said, in amazement .
"Never really thought of bragging" Okoto said, giving a thumbs up. "Anyway, let's go and have lunch" he said, sorinting to the mandion of the Rey family, Iris followed with her chaotic flames following her, Only Free and Sylvia were left under the tree.
"W-we should go too...." he said, a nervous chuckle escaping his lips, Sylvia nodded and both started to walk to the mansion, their footsteps on the grass let out a crunch sound as both walked to the mansion in complete silence, both still unable to comprehend the situation.
"So how was your journey?" Utto asked, eatibg with elegance, the lunch table was full, Iris gulping down food like crazy and Okoto laughing while taking out souvenirs.
"It was good, i even got loot from the dungeon!" He said, taking out a platinum sword and throwing it to a servant, who caught it with trembling hands and put it on one of the sword collection of Utto's wife.
"Good to know" Utto Wife said, eating with perfect elegance, Free too was eating it like a gentleman, while Sylvia was panicking on what spoon or fork to pick up until Free handed her a spoon for her soup. "Anyway, the Hayan's chief and his wife still hadn't introduce themselves to me" she said, her eyes set on the way Free was eating his lunch with such elegance, as a commoner.
"o-oh, My name is Free, chief of Hayan village and this is my wife Sylvia. We got married recently" he introduced himself, standing up with a polite bow, Sylvia bowed too.
"Please to know you, my name is Zelda von reys, wife of Utto von reys, current head of Reys branch" she introduced, Free gave an acknowledged nod.
Okoto stand up from his seat and gives Free and Sylvia an identical pendant. "sorry, i couldn't come to your wedding" Okoto apologized but with no sense of humor.
"I-it's okay" Sylvia reassured him, he chuckled and sat back down, while Iris was chuckling quietly as she gulped down her food.
"anyway, tonight is going to be some trouble and thriller" he said, bumping his fist to eachother, Free looked at him sensing something was wrong, Utto and Zelda stayed silent as if he knew what it means.
"Y-yeah...?" Free replied, doubting his suspicion.
Meanwhile on a carriage approaching the city, inside a fat man with two ladies opposite to him was smiling devilishly, he was wearing a robe made out of golden leather, one of the woman gave a dramatic laugh covering her face.
"We'll show the Reys who's superior tonight* she said, the man nodded, while outside from the bushes a shadow leaoed from tree to tree, also followed by another shadow without the shadow infront of him knowing.
"The end of Reys is tonight" the guy said, letting out a laugh, not knowing what fate had for him in tonight's party.
