"HP: Too Late, System!"Chapter 296: The Hogwarts School Song
Harry waved excitedly at Sirius, then broke into a run, weaving through the crowd toward him.
At the back, Percy was quietly holding Penelope's hand, looking a little exasperated by the scene. The "boss" had assigned him to this trip partly to keep an eye on the younger students, and partly to give him and Penelope a rare chance to travel together before graduation.
Besides, with the event organized by Harry's Detective Society and Neville's Gale Sword Society, it wasn't his place to take the lead. That was something his boss had always stressed—never meddle in another group's business.
Still, seeing Neville gawking around in excitement, Percy couldn't help but call out to Hermione, who was busy explaining Muggle customs to Ron:
"Miss Granger, shouldn't you be keeping order?"
Hermione snapped to attention. Mimicking the gesture she'd learned during morning runs, she raised her hand high so everyone could see, then called out in her clear voice:
"Everyone participating in this event, gather around me! If you didn't sign up, don't try to tag along—please head home!"
Halfway to Sirius, Harry froze at the sound of Hermione's voice, his face turning sheepish. Only then did he remember—he was supposed to be the organizer of this whole thing.
He scratched his head, shot Sirius an apologetic grin, and jogged back to the group. Quickly, he pulled out the small flag with the Hogwarts crest that Douglas had given him, held it high, and shouted:
"Alright, everyone in the group, follow me!"
He spun around and led the way toward Sirius.
Hermione rolled her eyes at him.
In the crowd, George, Fred, and Lee Jordan exchanged a look and, with mischievous grins, burst into song—a version of the Hogwarts School Song they'd written themselves (with a few "unity-friendly" edits from Professor Holmes):
"Yo, what's up, we're students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry We're here to master the mysteries of magic Our campus is the most magical place in the world We learn spells that let us soar and vanish, there's nothing we can't do Our professors are the legends of the wizarding world They teach us every magical skill, making us strong and wise Our students come from everywhere, all backgrounds, all stories But here, we're equals—no rich, no poor, just friends We learn together, grow together, face every challenge as one We're students of Hogwarts, and we're proud!
Every common room has its own style and tradition Our dorm is our home Here, we live, study, and grow with our roommates Our school has four houses, each with its own spirit Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin Each house stands for something unique We compete, but we respect each other We're students of Hogwarts, and we're united! Our magic lets us create miracles Our magic lets us change the world Our magic is our strength and our faith We're students of Hogwarts, and we're brave!
So, if you want to be a wizard too Come join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"
Their song turned heads—both Muggle and wizard alike.
Among the Muggles, curious whispers spread:
"What school are those kids from? Are they protesting the Church or something?"
"Maybe. It's Easter, and they're singing about magic…"
"Probably just a bunch of kids with wild imaginations…"
"Aren't these the students the Daily Prophet mentioned? The ones visiting the Heroes' Memorial?"
"Which house are those singers from? The four houses respect each other?"
"Is Hogwarts really that harmonious now? Gryffindor and Slytherin getting along?"
Meanwhile, some students waiting to go home stared in disbelief:
"How do they dare?"
"What's there to be scared of? Didn't you see the huge Hogwarts crest on the bus?"
At the back, Percy shot his brothers a glance but said nothing.
Penelope asked curiously, "Isn't your brother talking about Hogwarts in public? Doesn't that break the Statute of Secrecy?"
Percy shook his head. "The boss checked the Ministry's laws. This doesn't count. Besides, look around—the Muggles don't believe for a second that we're really from a magic school. And this was the boss's idea. I bet he's got another plan…"
Just then, a plump, jovial man called out to the group:
"Hey, kids, are you really from some Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?"
George and Fred answered instantly:
"That's right!"
"We're all wizards!"
The man laughed. "Ha! Well then, honored wizards, how about showing me a bit of magic?"
"We're not allowed to use magic outside school!" they chorused.
He chuckled and walked away, clearly amused by these imaginative children.
When the group reached the bus, they noticed a long banner stretched across its side—Hogwarts Secondary School Representative Team.
Before Harry could ask, Sirius called out, "Harry, get everyone on board. You two, stay here."
He promptly yanked George and Fred from the crowd.
When they saw Percy strolling up with Penelope, they blurted out in surprise, "Percy, what are you doing here? You weren't on the list. And our Head Girl, too?"
Percy took a deep breath, resisting the urge to scold his brothers. "Professor Holmes sent us. Any objections?"
Without waiting for a reply, he led Penelope onto the bus.
Leaning against the bus, arms crossed, Sirius gave the twins a sly look. "So, what's the story with that song?"
"Er, Professor Holmes—"
"—gave us a secret mission—"
Sirius grinned, eyes twinkling. "Did you know there were two Aurors and four Ministry employees in the crowd just now? And those four—well, they looked ready to faint. Your dad works for the Ministry, doesn't he?"
George and Fred exchanged a nervous glance. "Mr. Black, will this get Dad in trouble?"
"Mum's not going to send us a Howler, is she?"
"The Professor never said—"
"—there'd be Ministry people here—"
"He just told us to sing the song in front of Muggles."
"And watch how the Muggles reacted."
