Orion didn't rush, and that alone made Sophia's pulse increase.
His movements were slow, deliberate — the kind of slow that meant he wasn't holding back because he was unsure, but because he intended to savor every second of whatever was about to happen.
And every second of her.
He shifted closer on the bed, one knee sinking into the mattress beside her hip, then the other. The warmth radiating off him was already enough to make Sophia's breath catch. He leaned forward, bracing one hand behind her shoulder as the other reached for the pillow.
"Hold still," he murmured, his voice low, steady, and too gentle for the look in his eyes.
Sophia blinked at him, dazed. "What… what are you doing?"
"Making you comfortable," he said simply.
He slid an arm beneath her back, lifting her carefully. Her body was still in pain and she winced a bit as he adjusted her.
