Chapter 44: The Dragonslaying Battle
[The camera cut to the northern front. After Siegfried was forcibly taken offline by Sirin, even with Shigure Kira providing support, the two of them couldn't gain any advantage against Benares.
"Hey, Kira, are you okay?"
Hearing Shigure Kira's heavy breathing, Shab couldn't help but ask with concern.
Sweat dripped from Shigure Kira's pretty face onto the ground. She forced herself to stand up. Just holding Abyss Flower, she could feel her body being corroded.
Shigure Kira was on the verge of being corroded to death by Abyss Flower, and Shab had the dual guns of the Might of An-Utu hanging from her waist. Both of them desperately wanted to find Siegfried and Cecilia.
Bella flung out a thick pillar of lightning, hurtling towards Shab and Shigure Kira with terrifying force. At this critical moment, several golden chains appeared in front of them.
Shab looked at the powerhouse nun who had caught the chains.]
"This Abyss Flower is master-bound? How come the Might of An-Utu isn't like that?" Pardo asked, surprised, looking at the nearly-dead Shigure Kira.
"Sister Pardofelis, have you forgotten?" Rin reminded her. "When An-Utu transforms into a greatsword, it unconditionally burns both the enemy and the wielder to death."
"Oh, right," Pardo said, curious. "Brother Yàqīng, if Divine Keys are so harmful to the human body, why were they created?"
Yàqīng said, "Divine Keys were never meant for ordinary people to use. If they are used forcefully, the side effects become very obvious."

Theresa prepared her bitter melon juice and snacks, eagerly getting ready to watch her highlight moment.
"Great-Auntie, don't get so excited," Kiana said, looking at the excited Theresa with dead-fish eyes.

Shigure Kira handed Abyss Flower to Theresa, and Shab also tossed her the An-Utu dual guns, telling her to go rendezvous with Anti-Entropy and return the weapons to Siegfried and Cecilia.
Before that, the two of them would deal with Benares.
"But..." Theresa wanted to say something more.
"Don't worry."
Shab and Shigure Kira stood side by side. Their warrior's spirit made it impossible not to trust them, and they promised Theresa.

Cheng Lixue stuck out her tongue, then suddenly sensed something was wrong.
"Kirara, why are you in this group chat?!"
The others also realized.
Far away at the European HQ, Shigure Kira was also in a movie theater, surrounded by her Schicksal colleagues, who didn't mind her texting.
"You all went to the Far East and left me all alone in Europe! So disloyal!"
Shigure Kira was fuming. After taking a day off, she had returned to the company to find that the team she had been in for years had been disbanded. Her familiar colleagues had all been transferred, leaving her all alone, as if she had been ostracized.

[Noticing that the cross that made her uncomfortable had left, Bella was about to breathe a sigh of relief when she suddenly realized that Theresa was heading in Sirin's direction.

Bella gathered lightning in her palm.
But she was entangled by colorful threads. In a rage, the lightning formed a barrier around Bella, knocking back Shab who had jumped high into the air. She transformed back into the dragon-like Honkai Beast, Benares, opened her mouth, and gathered an energy beam.
And her target, Shigure Kira, had blood trickling from the corner of her mouth and a strange smile on her face.
"Hmph, we were waiting for this moment!"
On Benares's back, Shab raised her weapon and stabbed fiercely at the crimson wound. To make Bella transform back into Benares, Shigure Kira had willingly acted as bait, all for the sake of the wound left by the Might of An-Utu.
"Monster—DIE!!!"]
"Bella!" Sirin said in panic.
"Sirin, I'm here." Bella sat next to Sirin, looking naturally airheaded, still immersed in how cool and beautiful her dragon form was, completely oblivious to her impending demise.
"It's nothing, go play." Any trace of emotion Sirin had felt vanished under Bella's clear, foolish gaze.
"Oh~" Bella trotted to the kitchen and brought back three glasses of cola.
"Thank you, Bella," Cecilia smiled.
Bella held the tray with both hands, her etiquette like that of a maid.
"Bella, how did you know I was thirsty!" Sirin picked up a glass, chugged it down, and burped.
[Next came Bella's flashback. As a Honkai Beast, she had gained human emotions. From Sirin, she had received the most important thing: the name Bella.
The scene shifted. Shab, using a high-frequency cutting attack, dealt massive damage to Benares but also caused irreversible damage to her own body. Just as she was about to succumb, a striking blue light merged with the crimson red.
"Salome..."
Shab looked up. A phantom of Salome smiled gently at her. The two of them simultaneously gripped the still-in-development high-frequency weapon and plunged it deep into Benares's body.
Sensing her core shattering, Bella's face changed drastically.
"Niggurath..."
Shab, collapsed in the ruins, looked at the blue mote of light in her palm and slowly closed her eyes. In her final moments, she thought of how she had successfully avenged Salome.
Shigure Kira forced herself to her feet, staggering, wanting to completely shatter Benares's core, but Benares was nowhere to be seen.
"I must... stop it..."
"Damn it... my body is already..."
Shigure Kira collapsed, her fate unknown.]
"They are all respectable warriors," Kevin said.
"Hmph, not bad," Kalpas said.
"They're... all dead?" Pardo said in disbelief.
"You bad Yàqīng!" Elysia pointed at Yàqīng, her cheeks puffed out. "Didn't you say this was a sunny and positive story?!"
Yàqīng looked away.
Mobius, who loved to stir up trouble, grabbed Yàqīng's forehead and forcibly turned his head back.
"Uh..."
"Well, that's a wrap for us," Shab said.
"For us, yes. For Kirara, who knows."
[Once its core cracked, Benares would revert to an emotionless Honkai Beast. Forcing itself to return to Sirin's side, the Benares crawling on the ground had none of its former coolness.
"Her Majesty... will be sad..."
