Chapter 2 - Human Greed

A short while later, John's father, Solomon, showed up at the hospital.

Jhon was amazed that over hundred fifty years had gone by and that he would see his father again at that age, looking entirely different from how he had last seen him.

Since his mother was simply a mortal human, she chose to take it easy when she was 80 years old and refused to take the age-delaying medications and potions her father had given her.

The last time saw and spoke to his father, he bid farewell and mentioned that he was heading to a place that would help him with something after his mother passed away from old age. He would never forget the look on his father's face that day—a look of deep sorrow and grief over the death of his loved one.

Furthermore, he couldn't make his father answer the question of where he was going, no matter how hard he tried to.

So, he decided to ignore it for the time being and hoped that once he was able to move on from the death of his mother, his father would also stop feeling that way.

However, John didn't see his father again for about 50 years until he got to the Inner Earth realm.

After seeing him again this time, John promised that he will compel their family's life events to alter now that he has returned from the past.

Using the knowledge, he has gained from the technological progress on his home world, he will stop at nothing to ensure his parents' long-term marriage.

"How are you doing, son?" After giving John a hug, Solomon inquired right away.

"Dad, I feel better." John told his father, "The doctor said I can go out; mom and I are just waiting for you to arrive before going out."

John later felt his father's calming energy, which seemed to spread throughout most of his body, particularly around his head, which had been hurt in the fall from the cliff. John felt even better as a result. He kept telling his father about what had occurred to him and why he had fallen, but he chose not to tell him that he had noticed it. He partially based the story on what he had heard his mother tell him in order to allay any fears or uncertainties about his plans for confronting his adopted brother after he was free.

In the Terrado's residence. John's parents, Solomon and Anne Terrado had instructed their maid servants to arranged the room of John before their son was discharge from the hospital.

In his room, after familiarizing again his former life and his things, John was thinking back on his life when he heard a gentle knock on his door.

Knock, knock, knock!

'It's me, son. Will I prepare your meal in the dining area or will you eat in your room?' His mother knocked.

'I'm not hungry yet, Mom. I'm just going to go out and have something to look at while I'm there. "I'll just eat when I get back,"' his words somewhat pacifies his anxious mother.

"All right, son." I'll simply instruct your aunt to make your meal later.

"Thank you, mom."

John left the house right away and proceeded to a barn nearby that is used as a processing facility for fruits grown on their farm.

The fruits that are not sold in the market are brought in here by their farm workers, who process them into vinegar or wine and sometimes into fruit chips, which are then packaged and delivered to the nearby tiny retail establishments in the marketplaces.

Bryan, his adopted brother, is in charge of mentioned processing facility.

Since John was an expert who had already transcended from the future, he used his spiritual senses right away when he entered. Although his current self does not yet practice them, he already makes use of them with a little tuning of his current spiritual essence.

Comparing that to tens of kilometers when his future self was in that realm, his maximum spiritual reading area at this time was about two hundred square meters. This may seem like a small amount compared to his former self, but it is more than sufficient given his current strength.

John walked straight to the back of the production area where his adapted brother was staying as soon as he smelled Bryan in his office.

Bryan appeared taken aback when John came in through the open door.

"How are you doing, brother? I'm glad you're still alive! He said to him in a sarcastic tone right away.

The first thing John heard from him had his ears perk up. His adapted brother's lack of regret for his actions was evident.

"What made you do that? John questioned Bryan in a controlled rage, "You wanted to kill me despite all the love my parents gave you and the fact that I even thought of you as a true brother."

 "Ha, ha, ha, ha!"

"John, oh John, you're still so young." "Did you think I didn't have anything else ready in case my first plan didn't work?"

A little later, Bryan pressed something beneath his desk.

John could sense practically everything around him, but he chose to stay put for the time being, in order to learn the full scope of Bryan's scheme, and an opportunity to remove as well any of his accomplices. As far as John could tell, Bryan wasn't even concerned that his scheme to murder him from the cliff would be uncovered.

The door behind James opened as Bryan pushed beneath his desk. A middle-aged man with a skinny frame came into Bryan's room, smiling at James and holding a knife.

As he fiddled with the knife he's holding, he said, "Hello John," right away.

"Well, hmmn. Indeed, uncle Benny, a tree is known by its fruit." Bryan's biological father was the man who entered.

"He, he, he!" John, you're right. This is something we have long planned to do to you. Since my kid was unable to kill you on the cliff, the odds are now in our favor.

"You, yourself, came here to deliver yourself from harm," he even grinned at John when he said those.

John was focusing on the father and son in front of him at that moment. When, a powerful aura suddenly appeared in his spiritual sense, and he instantly considered what he could do.

"Don't you worry that my parents—especially my father—will learn about what you did to us?"

"Do you think your parents would believe you if you tell them the truth about what actually occurred to you? Bryan grinned in response to what John had said.

He then questioned his dad. "Are people prepared for what they're going to do outside, Dad? "

Indeed, they are already aware of what to do.

"First, we must kill this monkey here. Then, our people will burn the entire production area with the workers, creating the illusion that a large, unexpected fire occurred and that even their son John was involved in the tragedy."

"All of his parents' assets and property will have nowhere else to go when this monkey passes away." We will then progressively poison his parents.

"This morning, the person we suggested to be their head cook at home was accepted in their kitchen."

"All you need now is few burns on your body to dispel suspicions of foul play."

John merely stared at them while the father and son conversed, but inside, he almost exploded with rage at the two people, for even though his parents treated them well, they still planned to do evil to them.

But the two didn't care about John hearing their conversation, with their perfect plan, John may as well be dead to them.

"CV."

How may I help you, master?"

Due to the fact that the reboot of his virtual assistant, which was a part of his soul transit back to his past from the future, would only conclude on the third day, John chose to postpone his scheduled showdown with Bryan until the last day.

And he had previously verified that CV was working on his system this morning when he was in his room.

'Calculate the number of people outside and the possible counter plan.' John's immediately command in his mind to his virtual assistant.

'There are twenty-one people outside, including your father.'

"Huh! My father?" John double checked his system.

'Yes, he's been tailing you since you left your house this morning.'

"What the heck! Why didn't I feel that?" John asked CV.

"You're too weak now, Master." Your senses were too weak to detect your father, and your strength actually decreased by 1,878.35% from before.

"Okay, okay! Stop it!" 'You're literally rubbing salt to the wound with your word.' John was just a little irritated.

The interaction between John and his virtual assistant was limited to a few seconds outside of John's head because it was solely taking place in his mind.

In addition to conversing, Bryan and his father Benny were now retrieving Bryan's funds from the vault.

Next, the door to Bryan's office opened again, and Benny's two men entered.

Then Benny said loudly to the two guys, "Okay, tie him up and make sure he still has some life left while this building is burning."

"Yes, boss!"

The father and son didn't even bother to check what their men will do to young John as soon as they give the instruction.

Then they heard what sounded like a slash just as the two were about to seize John.

Swish! Swish!

Thud, thud!

"Oh my!" These little idiots just couldn't follow the simple instruction.

Benny turned to reprimand his two workers since he believed they had killed John right away.

Suddenly, Benny was taken aback by what he saw.

Bryan also trace the spot where his father was gazing since he's not moving and looks stunned.

It was here that he saw the two of their men, without heads dropped to the ground.

"How did that occur?" The sight left the father and son speechless.

Both of their guys were decapitated, and John was just standing in front of them. He was carrying a curve dagger in each hand, and there were still bloodstains visible on the blades.

The scene made Bryan's knees tremble. When he traced his vision back to John, he saw a reaper of life instead of a kid, one that would soon steal his most prized life.
