David's POV
I spotted Yuri sitting alone on a bench outside the hospital. His elbows rested on his knees, his hands clasped tightly together. The streetlight above him flickered faintly, and even in the dim glow, I could see it — anger. Frustration.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, walking toward him.
He didn't look at me. "Nothing." Then, after a short pause, he finally turned his head. "Wait—aren't you mad that they're a couple now?"
I shook my head. "No," I said honestly. "Yeah, I had a crush on her before, but… I let them be. At least she's happy."
Yuri scoffed quietly, his jaw tightening.
"I mean, man, just let her be. She's happy with Keifer," I said, trying to lighten his mood.
"You don't get it," he muttered, standing up abruptly. His eyes were cold, and before I could say anything, he walked away—hands shoved deep in his pockets, shoulders tense.
I sighed. Watching his back disappear into the crowd of people outside the hospital, I whispered to myself, "When will he ever learn?"
I looked up at the sky—it was already getting late. Maybe too late for some hearts to move on.
Jay-Jay's POV
I sighed. "Just sleep," I told Keifer before sitting back down on the chair.
"Tss, fine," he said, turning his back on me.
I couldn't help but laugh softly. This guy never runs out of energy. Still, I didn't want us to get caught in another scene. Now that Kuya and Aries were here, they'd probably bury me alive if they saw me beside him again.
"Goodnight," I whispered, letting my eyes close. And just like that, I drifted off.
☀️ The Next Morning ☀️
Something poked my shoulder. Then again. And again.
I groaned, "Please, stop…"
But it didn't stop.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the one and only—Ci-n, grinning like a mischievous child caught stealing cookies.
"You know what time it is?" he asked.
I blinked sleepily. "No?"
"It's 8:34!" he said dramatically, his lips forming a pout. "It's breakfast time! I was waiting for you!"
I rubbed my eyes, trying not to laugh. "Ci-n, it's Saturday," I reminded him.
He looked dead serious. "Still! I'm starving!"
I sighed and waved my hand lazily. "Dabid, buy him something, please," I said, half-asleep.
David chuckled. "Come on, kid. Let's go grab something to eat."
Finally—peace. Or so I thought.
"Jay only cares about Ci-n!"
"Give us some money! We'll buy something for ourselves!"
"Please!"
"Jay, we're hungry too!"
"Jay, you're kind, right?"
The ulupongs surrounded me like starving puppies. I couldn't help but laugh—they were actually cute when they begged like that.
I reached for Keifer's wallet and gave him a questioning look. He shrugged and nodded like, go ahead, spoil them.
I pulled out 1000 pesos and handed it to them.
"Only 1000?"
"Jay, Keifer's rich!"
"At least 5000, please!"
I looked at Keifer again—he just smirked. I sighed, defeated, and pulled out another 4000.
The ulupongs cheered like they'd just won the lottery and ran off happily.
I turned back to Keifer, narrowing my eyes. "You spoiled them, you idiot."
He put a hand to his chest, pretending to be offended. "What did I do?"
"You smiled. That's enough encouragement for them!" I said, glaring.
He laughed, "What can I say? My fans are loyal."
I rolled my eyes. "You mean your snakes are loyal."
"Still counts," he said, winking.
I shook my head, trying not to smile. This guy really never changes.
