Jay-Jay's POV
(☀️ The next morning ☀️)
I woke up with excitement. Today was the day — the day I was going on a date with none other than Keifer!Well, after school though. Still counts!
Wait, why am I even excited?! Get yourself together, Jay!
I jumped out of bed, went to the bathroom, and brushed my teeth like my life depended on it. After that, I walked downstairs. The house was quiet — too quiet.Day 1 without my family.
I sighed and went to the kitchen. Made my own breakfast — cereal. Yeah, I didn't wanna burn the house down on my first day alone. After eating, I went back to my room, showered, and changed into my HVIS uniform.
I looked in the mirror and sighed again. Two more months before graduation… time really flies. I actually brushed my hair properly for once. Wore matching socks (yep, no mismatched chaos today), polished my shoes, and even braided my hair.Keifer effect 😌.
I headed downstairs, expecting someone — maybe Keifer — to pick me up. But nope. No text, no car, nothing.
"Huh?" I muttered.
Weird. But whatever. I hopped on my bike instead.
When I reached school, there was still no sign of Keifer's fancy car. Maybe he walked? Or maybe… he's planning to surprise me? Please say yes.
I walked into the building — still nothing.Section E hallway — still nothing.Okay, maybe he's already inside the classroom. Right?
I pushed open the door.
"Hey, Jay!" Ci-n waved at me.
"H-hey…" I said, my eyes immediately scanning the room. "Where's Keifer?"
He smirked.
"Worried about your boyfriend, huh?" he teased.
"Just answer my question," I said, raising my fist.
"I don't know either," he replied, shrugging.
The worry hit me instantly. Like, out of nowhere my stomach started twisting. I sat down on my chair — next to his empty one. My legs started shaking. My hands wouldn't stay still.
"Jay?" Yuri called.
"W-what?" I replied without looking up.
"Are you okay?" he asked gently.
"Y-you know where Keifer is?" I finally asked.
He froze. Didn't even look at me. My chest tightened.
"You do know," I said, my voice cracking a bit. "Yuri, where is he?"
He stayed silent. I slammed my hands on my desk.
"YURI?!" I screamed.
The whole class went quiet. All eyes were on me. I didn't even care.
"What happened, Jay?" David asked, confused.
"D-do you know where Keifer is?" I asked him, eyes tearing up. I mean, who wouldn't like when your boyfriend—Nevermind!
"No? Maybe he's stuck in traffic?" he said.
I wanted to believe that. I really did. But Yuri's face said otherwise.
"Rory," I called. "Check the updates. Now."
"O-okay…" Rory said, immediately pulling out his phone.
The teasing started around me, like usual —
"Worried girlfriend!"
"Wife alert!"
"Are you two official now?"
"Treat us if he's fine!"
"See? I told you they'd end up together — pay up that 100 pesos!"
"Guys, shut up. Let me focus," Rory muttered, scrolling through his phone.
I tried to smile — tried to pretend everything was fine — until he froze. His hands started shaking.
"Rory?" I said, my voice barely a whisper.
He looked up. "H-he's in a h-hos–hospital," he stuttered.
The laughter, the noise, everything stopped. The entire Section E went silent. My world did too.
