Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: White Ghost Part 1

In the world of Elgra Greas, on the thriving continent of Tevera, within the beast-dominant country of Culvary, tamers stood at the top of society.

I am Lyrus Ventouso, and I was born as a son of one of the most powerful families—the Eisien Clan. A family with influence all over Culvary and businesses spread across the Tevera Nations. The current head of our branch clan, my father Vander Eisien, is one of the leaders of the ruling council of the Culvary Nation, known as the Council of Eighth. He is widely known as a Transcendent Realm superhuman and a Martial Monarch with Thunder and Lightning attributes, possessing two Ancestral Lord Rank beasts: a Thunder King Levarphies (a humanoid thunder leopard) and a Tribulation Skylark.

He had six wives and seventeen concubines. My mother, Veronica Ventouso, was one of his concubines. She was a powerful Legendary Realm powerhouse and a Ninth Circle Sorcerer, with four known Legendary Rank beasts: a Rafeolox (12-Tailed Radiant Fox – White-Gold), Metheosa (Humanoid Fairy Butterfly), Revsoduse (Flaming Unicorn), and a Holoxal (Cloudman). But she died during a journey in the wild for an unknown reason, leaving only her severely injured beast, the Rafeolox, alive.

At that time, in the year 1748, I, Lyrus, was just 15 years old and had just started attending my first year of high school. Because of my mother's death, the power she held was transferred to me, along with her final memories and last message before she died. I cried a lot that day and fainted, falling into a slumber that lasted a year due to the overwhelming power I inherited from her.

In this world, the power of parents can be transferred to their offspring upon death. However, the child will not become as powerful as their parent; they will only inherit about 50 to 75 percent of their strength, abilities, and magical prowess. But that alone is already considered a cheat, as they instantly become stronger than others their age. Their bodies evolve through the power of inheritance.

Because of this, I directly became an SSS-Rank superhuman. I also inherited my mother's magic, but instead of condensing my own Magic Circle, I formed the magic I received into a sphere of magical energy inside my spiritual realm.

Lyrus did not undergo martial training or magical training. However, he is a tamer who has studied the art of taming, as is customary in both the nation and the continent.

Originally, Lyrus was still unawakened with no affinities. But his body was already that of an A-Rank—he was physically strong from the very start. After all, he was the son of a Legendary Realm and Transcendent Realm powerhouse. It was already expected that he would effortlessly become a major figure in the future once he matured, because of his genetics—it was already in his bloodline. But such expectations were normal for the offspring of major clans.

Lyrus also had a bound beast with him. Its name was Ishvel, a Sceblar (Humanoid Frost Knight Beast – Black & Blue Armored Beast), and it was a Beast King, far more powerful than him. This beast was a gift from his mother—a rare beast from the wild that she had captured for him. It was a one-of-a-kind beast variant.

The power of taming could only be performed by an S-Rank powerhouse with the assistance of an S-Rank Bounder. This specific profession is known as Bounders. It is the ability to bind a beast and a person together. The profession is quite a lucrative business, as tamers from A-Rank to F-Rank need to go to Bounders if they want to tame a beast. However, once they become S-Rank, they gain the ability to tame beasts on their own without the assistance of a Bounder.

Additionally, tamers must be equipped with knowledge of bounding before taming a beast. This is basic knowledge taught since elementary school. They should know how to create a bound sphere using their spiritual power. Bounders serve only as a secondary source of spiritual power to help create the bound. Because Bounders have no affinities, their spiritual energies can be used by others. Tamers must also possess strong soul energy, as a part of the tamer's soul will be used during the taming process through bounding.

This taming ensures absolute control over the beast by the tamer. The process ensures that the tamed beast will evolve into a creature capable of understanding its tamer and forming an unbreakable bond between them. This bond ensures understanding, dominance, trust, and loyalty. A successful bonding forms a miniature soul beast enclosed in a bubble within the tamer's spiritual realm. This is also a failsafe mechanism that allows the tamer to kill the bound beast if they will it. The tamer can also devour the power and abilities of their bound beast once it dies.

In August 1749, Lyrus woke up. His mother had already been buried, and he could only visit her tombstone at Bulgaria Memorial Cemetery. He grieved alone and moved on with his life. His mother had also left him a bank account with 3 billion—enough money for him to live comfortably for life. Her properties were also transferred to him, including their house in Bulgaria City. The house was a large mansion—not just for them, but also for their beasts. After all, his mother was wealthy, powerful, and owned mighty beasts. The mansion had grown silent over the past year, as he had been unconscious. The maids were dismissed by the Eisien Clan during that time.

He also met his grandmother Leticia Eisien, who took Lydia, the Rafeolox, and gave him 10 billion in exchange—using the excuse that the fox was severely injured and needed medical assistance and special care for its growth, something only the Eisien Clan could provide to unlock its full potential. Lyrus did not protest and simply accepted the money. After all, the fox had already grown fond of his grandmother. She had been the one caring for it during the time Lyrus lay unconscious for a year.

However, the bounding connection between Lydia and his mother—and the other tamed beasts—had been transferred to him. He was now their owner. He wanted to relinquish the bond and pass it to his grandmother, but Leticia declined and instead initiated a secondary contract for Lydia. This meant that if Leticia died, the fox would still return to him in the future.

Leticia: "For now, you need to do your studies."

Leticia left with her Veleonics (Rainbow Peacock Phoenix) and returned to the capital. After all, Bulgaria was too far from the capital—it was a city near the Wildlands. His mother had preferred living away from the Eisien Clan, even though she was one of his father's concubines.

Meanwhile, Lyrus moved on with his life and began revitalizing his mother's home. He also hired five maids, four helpers, a cook, and a chef—all of them E-Rank individuals.

Ishvel: Fro.

He was training in the training ground using a machine that fired rubber balls. Leticia had taken custody of Ishvel for a year, and during that time, the beast had grown significantly stronger and faster. He was now equipped with armor and a spear weapon—clearly, his grandmother had done a lot for his bound beast.

Ishvel: Fro?

Lyrus: Nothing. Continue.

Ishvel: Fro. Fro. (Then continued his training.)

Phone: Ring. Ring. (Bill calling.)

Lyrus received a call from his mother's best friend, Bill, a professor at Culvary Master Tamers University in Corton, the capital. He was currently in Bulgaria.

Bill: Lyrus.

Lyrus: Hello, Professor Bill.

Bill: I'm very glad you're okay. I'm sorry for your loss.

Lyrus: ...

Bill: I'll be there in a minute.

Lyrus: Why?

Bill: You know your mother had quite a few tamed beasts. Most of her new ones are with me. I'm delivering them to you now.

Lyrus: Oh. I thought everything was taken by my father and the Eisien Clan.

Bill: No. Your mother would never leave her tamed beasts to the Eisien Clan, let alone hand them over. These beasts are quite rare, and all of them are from overseas. You know your mother.

Lyrus: Yeah... Thank you for taking care of them while I was unconscious.

Bill: Don't worry about that.

Later on, Bill arrived at the mansion in a large beast transport truck—it was actually Lyrus's mother's truck, specially designed for beasts. He opened the back of the truck.

Bill: Get off, everyone. You're home.

Then a Webel (Black Diamond Spider), Surtea (Chaos Swarm Mother – Black-Gold Giant Caterpillar), Veldegon (Ghastly Black Armor Beast – Inferneo), Zoltaur (Humanoid Flame Minotaur), and a Rediquin (White Djinn) came out of the truck. Lyrus recognized only Vigil and Lanfer—the Webel and Surtea.

Lyrus concentrated and looked into his spiritual realm. There were now seven beast bubbles inside, aside from Ishvel. This confirmed that the beasts belonged to his mother—and now, he had inherited them. The one with the large radiant bubble was the Rafeolox, which had been taken by his grandmother, Leticia.

Lyrus: Professor. (He called out and greeted him.)

Bill: Oh my... Did you just get taller?

The inheritance really made you bigger and stronger... (A sad look appeared in his eyes, realizing what that meant.) At least your mother left you a gift. Live on.

Lyrus: I will. Let's go in. I prepared some food.

Lyrus and Bill chatted for a while over a meal. Eventually, Bill had to return to the capital.

Bill: Call me if you need anything. Look after yourself.

Lyrus: Yes. I'm stronger now. Don't worry about me.

Bill: Sure. Bye. (He waved goodbye as he got into the passenger car.) Take care.

Lyrus: I will.

Bill needed to go back to the capital—he had been absent for a year. If he weren't a genius professor and scientist, he would surely have been fired from Culvary Master Tamers University by now. Fortunately, he was also connected to the Eisien Clan, especially Lyrus's father, which allowed him a long leave to look after his best friend's beasts and funeral. He had also handled all of Veronica's properties and finances, ensuring everything was transferred to Lyrus's name and accounts. He had done a lot for Lyrus while he was unconscious.

Lyrus settled all of his mother's beasts in the mansion and assigned them their own quarters. All of the beasts were already at Commander Rank.

Lyrus: Lanfer, you've gotten so big. (It was now an armored caterpillar, four meters long and one meter in width. Last year, it was just the size of a foot, but now it was far too big.) Will you evolve into a big butterfly or something? But with this size... (He imagined a giant butterfly he could ride on.)

Lanfer: Scree. Scree.

Lyrus looked at the beast files that Bill had handed over and checked Lanfer's data.

Lyrus: Swarm Mother? So you won't evolve into a butterfly? You're capable of reproducing swarm beasts as minions... Hmmm. What was Mother planning to do with you? Did she want to build a swarm or something?

(Based on his mother's last memories, two of her other beasts were still alive—one Legendary Rank Soul Beast and one Spiritual Beast. These two were known only to him and his mother. Her dying words were, "Don't grieve for me, I will go back." Her body had died, but her soul and spirit remained intact and safe. She still had Lusha and Meon with her, meaning she was safe—though not as a living person, but in spiritual form. All Lyrus could do was pretend to grieve—and he truly did, at least in front of Bill and the Eisien Clan.)

Lyrus: Hayz... What trouble did she get into?

He knew that these beasts—aside from Lanfer and Vigil—were gifts prepared for him by his mother. Later that same year, he had asked for another beast to tame, but before she could respond, she got into trouble and died.

Lyrus: I need to get stronger.

Then he looked through the other beast files. Both Vigil and Lanfer had unknown affinities and abilities. Rediquin was a White Djinn, a mysterious variant with unknown abilities. Zoltaur was clearly flame attribute, and Veldegon was dark attribute, though its abilities were still unknown. The only normal one was Zoltaur—his information could be found online, and he was known as a beast with Overlord growth potential. The rest were mysteriously undocumented.

Lyrus then took out a syringe and collected blood samples from all of his beasts, placing them into separate vials.

Lyrus: Okay... From now on, your name will be Sedestro (Veldegon), you will be Titus (Rediquin), and you will be Horus (Zoltaur).

Because Lyrus was only 16 years old, he and his beasts were confined to the city of Bulgaria. He returned to his secondary studies for four more years while also training his beasts at home. He graduated from high school on May 6, 1753, at the age of 19. (His birthday is December 24, 1734.) He was now eligible to leave the city walls and explore the outside world.

During those four years, he trained his beasts to the best of his ability and provided them with the necessary resources for growth. Sedestro, Titus, Vigil, and Horus all became Beast Kings within that time. Ishvel successfully evolved into a Beast Emperor. However, Lanfer only advanced to Beast Lord, but she had grown even bigger—about 20 meters long and seven meters wide, now covered in a full black-gold armored carapace. She remained slow, moving at the pace of a normal person walking, but her defensive ability, Gold Aegis, was overwhelmingly powerful. Her energy reserves also exceeded those of most Beast Kings, despite being only a Beast Lord.

Over those years, Lyrus also developed himself. He created his own power and abilities, ones that suited his unique condition. He wasn't a normal awakened individual, but a special type who created his own powers from nothing. He was attributeless and instead gave form and concept to his power. He chose the concepts of immortality and invisibility, naming this power White. While he had no real combat prowess, this power was capable of impossible things that suited his needs. He even stopped aging. His complexion changed—his skin and hair turned white, and his eyes became silvery.

During those four years, Lyrus also studied bloodlines and evolution. His interest was piqued after finding his mother's notes. He learned that the purer the bloodline, the stronger a beast or human would become. Altering bloodlines through forging or fusing could lead to variant forms—rare and significantly more powerful versions of existing beasts.

Because of this, he began experimenting on himself and his beasts using their blood. However, he lacked the materials to get the results he wanted. That's what drove him to develop the power called White. This power didn't just make him invisible—it embodied the concepts of alchemy, recreation, fusion, evolution, reformation, transformation, refinement, unification, and harmonization. It made the impossible possible. He could purify, recreate, forge, and even evolve bloodlines with it.

He also discovered that in this world, some beasts were so powerful they were considered gods among their race. If a race already had a god-level powerhouse, no others of that race could ascend to godhood. All members would instead become subjects of that god—unless the current god died. But if a beast formed or acquired its own unique concept, it could still evolve into a god. These beasts were known as Primordial Sovereigns.

His mother's notes—deciphered from ancient tablets in ancient ruins—contained a list of such beasts. These notes were extremely confidential, and Lyrus knew he'd be in danger if others discovered this information.

One sign of a racial god was that its species would start at Beast Lord rank from birth and have an exceptionally strong bloodline. Racial godhood not only evolved the god beast but also its entire race. Their population would flourish—even weak individuals of the race would have blessings of rapid reproduction.

This was one of the reasons his mother had collected rare, hard-to-find beasts with very low population numbers. Once tamed and bounded, these beasts would often lose their inherent growth—a hidden truth only powerful clans and elite individuals knew.

However, even if a race had a god, that didn't mean its subraces would also become strong. For example, if Wind Wolves evolved into a god species, only the Wind Wolf bloodline would grow stronger. Other types of wolves wouldn't. Another sign of a racial god's influence was the ability of beasts to speak, evolve into humanoid forms, and form their own kingdoms and empires, becoming intelligent species like humans.

His mother's notes contained a warning: Don't tame those beasts, or you will become one of their minions once you grow stronger. While a tamer has absolute control over their tamed beasts, a god beast has absolute control over its entire race and all connected to its bloodline.

But there was a solution: the control existed only at the bloodline level. If one could remove the bloodline on an atomic scale and purify the beast, it would be freed from that lineage domination.

One of Lyrus's own beasts, Titus (Rediquin), belonged to a race with a racial god—the Djinn. Even though Rediquin was only a subrace, Lyrus ensured this wouldn't become a problem in the future.

Lyrus purified Titus's bloodline, and he didn't stop there—he did the same for all of his beasts. However, he feared the fox—Lydia. The fox might still be subject to racial control, and there were troubling indications about her in his mother's last memories.

Because of that, Lyrus contacted Bill, asking him to request a blood sample from his grandmother—from Lydia.
