Akashi observed the car as it entered the concentration camp, with Korra sitting on its roof.
It would be a lie if Akashi said it didn't surprise him.
He had expected the Earth Queen to cook up a surprise for him or for the bloodbenders.
That was the main reason he had decided to move that night to ensure that they would escape.
But to have Korra go to protect the prison on the first day of their arrival wasn't something he had been prepared for.
Sitting still in his place for a while, Akashi thought, considering whether he should continue with his plan or not.
What he came up with was that he should continue with his purpose, his goal.
After all, this was the most critical moment in the domino effect he had created.
Only with Noatak being outside could the Earth Queen be defeated and taken down without causing major chaos for the innocent people of this kingdom, or rather, the whole Earth's continent.
"Korra may have gotten a bit smarter thanks to me. But she's still quite naive, and the Earth Queen has 70 years of experience in being manipulative, not to mention that a ruthless ruler would stop at nothing.
"I will go with the assumption that Korra got tricked. Anyway, I hope that the guards inside won't behave themselves, so that she may have a conflict with the guards. But I guess the Dai Lee agents are here to make them behave themselves very well."
Akashi nodded to himself, looking at his arms and legs, checking for any slip in his black clothes.
And so, he slipped through the shadow, no air resisting him, only carrying him, and no sound echoing from his feet. With his stats, Akashi had the best build for a close-range and long-range assassin.
The two guards on the main gates didn't see a man standing in the dark corner, blending easily with the shadow, and continued chatting between themselves.
"She is quite paranoid, to send the Avatar to guard two pathetic bloodbenders."
"Hush… if you got heard, you realize that you may be executed for insulting who you know."
"Tsk. Thanks for reminding me."
"I didn't want to work today. But you know, Emma is quite hot, and I wanted to have my turn with her."
"Yeah, me too. But it's no fuck day."
"By the way, whose child the last prisoner girl gave."
"I don't know. We just put him in an orphanage."
By standing next to them, Akashi heard and understood what they had been doing.
He may have some understanding of the Equalists. He may tolerate a rebellious figure.
But behind him was the kind of guy he used to shoot in his previous life, and then put the blame on someone.

The two guards didn't understand how they died. All that happened was that someone put his hands on their backs. And the next second, all of the air inside them left their bodies. They instantly lost consciousness. Without realizing it, they fell into a sleep with no dreams.
And then Akashi entered.
Killing the guards didn't just satisfy him; it could serve as a strategic step by acting as a chaos factor later, and thus, distracting the Avatar.
And Akashi made it through the building, all the way to the main yard, where the prisoners were.
By giving them a look, this prison wasn't for criminals. But more for those who opposed the queen's policy. Given that there were children and women here, they seemed to be families of those who angered her.
He remembered what one of the earth envoys he had killed said once. That he was lucky that he didn't have 3 generations to be executed for insulting the Earth Queen. Simply pissing her off meant killing three generations. What was it then opposing her policies? It meant being sent here.
But Akashi wasn't here for them. And he didn't need to look for the bloodbenders.
They were making chaos on their own.
Dai Lee agents, prison guards, were floating in the air and getting beat up with no fists. Simply, by being bloodbent, bruises appeared on them.
Akashi clicked his tongue and watched as the scene unfolded.
He had thought that by disabling the devices on their chairs, the bloodbenders would leave the prison quietly, and he would be there to help in clearing their path.
Who would have guessed that Korra would be here. And from the looks of it, she would not understand that the guards are abusers when she'd see it.
But what Akashi didn't know was that was Noatak's original plan. However, the abusive behavior of the guards triggered them, especially Noatak, who activated his Amon's personality.
The guards floated, getting on their knees.
Amon appeared before them, putting his hands on their foreheads, walking past them one by one.
The prisoners gathered around him one by one.
"Dear prisoners," Amon said, "I used to go by the name, Amon. I was previously known as the leader of the Equalists, trying to bring equality for everyone by going against all of the benders. And in this prison. No, this concentration camp, I realized the fault of my ways. Instead of fighting for equality, I'm more of justice-oriented. And power is to be used against the real oppressor.
"If you follow me, we'll fight back against the Queen, together, and take her down. You'll get your freedom, your life back."
Akashi crossed his arms and smirked. 'Seems like he changed his mind to the common enemy after all.'
The prisoners, angry from all of the abuse, mental and physical, ran toward the guards and started kicking them in the face. Even without bending a thing, they could hurt them.
Needless to say, the situation caught the attention of the watching guards from a distance. A ball rang.
Men in yellow-green dresses appeared, running to the yard.
Seeing them as a free experience points, Akashi intercepted, appearing in front of them and knocking them out. All he did was clap his hands in front of them. The result was a sound wave with a deadly frequency and strength.
'I've finally found the right frequency to knock them out.'
Akashi thought as he saw them down, blood dripping from their ears and noses. Not everyone was a bloodbender who could control their blood and negate internal damage.
"What is going on!" Echoed a familiar voice.
Korra appeared, jumping above the walls.
What was in front of her was a bunch of unconscious guards getting beat up by prisoners.
A bunch of Dai Lee agents floating in the air.
Bloodbenders, who were enemies to her bodyfriend and had kidnapped him in the past, faked his death, were taking over the prison.
"Oh, shit." Akashi turned his head and cursed.
