Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: Still as Elegant as Ever

Platinum Star World

Six Star

Level: Level 6 (maximum level)

Owner: Jotaro Kujo

Introduction: A close-range power Stand with immense strength, extreme speed, and unparalleled precision.

Ability: Time Stop

When operating Star Platinum alone, it has a time-stop duration of 9.99 seconds.

When manipulating multiple Stands, the time-stop duration is reduced to 4.99 seconds.

In this time-frozen space, no other Stand besides Star Platinum and its user can move.

Note 1: Invincible.

Note 2: 9.99 seconds is the world's limit, not your limit.

Note 3: What about taking another step?

---

Logan finished reading the introduction panel of the Heart of Platinum. Not much had changed in its base attributes—they remained the same at 5A1C. The primary upgrade lay in the increased duration of the time-stop ability.

A 9.99-second time stop was more powerful than Dio at his prime, and now gave Logan the freedom to do far more in a frozen world.

And then…

His gaze landed on Note 3.

> "What does 'take another step' mean?"

"Could it be that Platinum Star World, after using the dimensional upgrade Star Core, still has potential for further evolution?"

Logan thought of the special item introduced in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind—the infamous Arrow.

> "Platinum World Requiem?"

He stopped his daydreaming as he looked at the remaining 714 soul fragments in his inventory.

> "No point fantasizing. Time to get back to grinding."

But the recent incident with the evil cult left Logan with some troubling thoughts.

Humans possess two destructive instincts:

One is self-destruction.

The other is the destruction of others.

The former, Logan had seen manifest as the Evil God.

The White-Haired Leader was the embodiment of that suicidal craving.

Logically speaking, the desire to destroy others far outweighs self-destruction. After all, when people face problems, their first instinct is to blame others. Only when they can neither beat nor curse others, and when they've lost all hope, do they turn inward.

So then... what would the world's projection of the desire to destroy others look like?

As he pondered this, an image flashed in his mind: the Three-Tails spewing a Tailed Beast Bomb.

> "Absolutely pure destructive energy…"

"If tailed beasts represent the will to destroy others, then their characteristics begin to make more sense—"

"Powerful beyond reason. Possessing some form of self-awareness. And even when slain, they inevitably return."

Tailed beasts can't die. As long as chakra exists in this world—as long as hatred and destruction exist—they will continue to reemerge.

> "Based on this logic..."

Logan remembered Nagato's "Tailed Beast Weapon" plan that he had seen through Konan's memories.

> "It'll never work. Peace can't come from this."

The more Nagato harnessed the power of the tailed beasts for slaughter and war, the more deeply rooted the world's obsession with destruction would become.

Nagato was walking the same path as the White-Haired Leader.

He had become a runaway tanker truck with no brakes.

Even if he had no intent to harm innocents, he would inevitably drag allies, strangers, and enemies alike toward annihilation.

Of course, all of this was still just a theory—Logan's interpretation of the evil god incident.

Whether it held true or not...

Whether more variables lay beneath the surface...

That remained to be seen.

He still needed to uncover the deeper truths hidden within this world.

While lost in thought, he suddenly felt a white hand grasp his shoulder.

He turned around to find Tsunade—her eyes bloodshot, face pale, and body trembling slightly.

> "Cursed again?!"

Startled out of his thoughts, Logan's first assumption was the Evil God. But then Tsunade, her eyes brimming with unshed tears, wailed:

> "Logan! Lend me some money! I'll pay you back when we return to Konoha. Don't worry, I know the rules—nine out of thirteen will be returned!"

> "…Borrowing money?" Logan blinked, finally understanding.

The cult leader was long dead—there were no curses here.

No, this was a gambler who had bet everything and lost. The trembling of her body came not from supernatural fear, but from financial ruin—anger, frustration, and shame colliding all at once.

To her request, Logan had just one answer:

> "No."

He took a glance around at the chaotic casino and shook his head.

Although there were complications along the way, the mission had been a success:

They found Tsunade.

Collected soul fragments.

Upgraded Platinum Star World to max level.

And developed some new insights into the nature of this world.

A productive trip, all things considered.

> "It's time to return."

Judging by the time, the guests from Konoha should have already arrived in Kirigakure.

> "Kakashi mentioned that Uzumaki Naruto was among them. I wonder how he and Sasuke are getting along."

---

Ten students had come from the Konoha Ninja Academy. Nearly all the prominent clans had sent one—except the Hyuga clan.

From a strategic standpoint, the Byakugan was far too valuable to risk, even in a peacetime alliance.

During the day, the adult ninjas helped with the rebuilding efforts under the arrangements of Kirigakure leadership.

Terumi Mei had refined Logan's industrial insights into actionable policies. Any ninja who followed the process would personally experience a significant productivity boost.

Both ninjas and civilians worked during the day, then gathered at night to share their reflections—deepening their learning through collective output.

As for the students like Naruto, their schedule was far more relaxed.

Mornings were spent studying at the Kirigakure Ninja School.

Afternoons were optional—those with interest could audit Miyamoto's swordsmanship classes.

And in the evenings, they joined the adults in the open-air classroom for general education.

Since Logan's departure, the instructors had become Amber and Mayuri.

Iwamine Genmako also came to assist regularly. Due to the lack of teaching staff, Mayuri occasionally invited her to share her insights.

But every time, Genmako would wave her hands frantically.

> "Someone like me…? Impossible!"

After a few tries, Mayuri gave up trying to persuade her.

The adults' interactions remained polite but reserved. Konoha and Mist ninjas gradually built rapport through shared labor and learning.

But kids? Kids were far less subtle.

> "You still wanna be Hokage?!"

A group of seven or eight local students had surrounded Naruto, laughing at him mockingly.

> "You can't even use proper ninjutsu. If you become Hokage, then I'll be the next Mizukage!"

> "I will be Hokage!" Naruto shouted. "I already promised Grandpa Hokage!"

At those words, the Kirigakure kids blinked, their expressions shifting to mild panic.

> "The Third Hokage is your grandpa? Like, your real grandpa?"

> "No, no... I just call him Grandpa Hokage. It's a habit, not blood—"

Before he could finish, a sharp kick landed in his stomach, knocking him flat.

> "Damn! Don't act so high and mighty! I thought you were his actual grandson—you scared us! Get him!"

Naruto curled up, shielding his head as punches rained down.

> "Grandpa Hokage... Is this the 'New World' you told me about…? This isn't friendly at all…"

Nearby, Inuzuka Kiba scratched Akamaru's ears and looked back at Shikamaru.

> "Shouldn't we help him? He's from our village."

Shikamaru hesitated.

He was considering the implications—was it worth getting involved in inter-village student politics? Could this be a test orchestrated by Terumi Mei?

> "I can't watch this anymore!"

Rock Lee clenched his fists.

As a man of youth and justice, he didn't care about politics. If something was wrong, he'd fix it—with his fists!

Just as Lee took his first step, a faint thunderclap rang out.

A scorching gust of wind blew past, and suddenly—

A familiar figure appeared behind the Kirigakure bullies.

Yamanaka Ino and Haruno Sakura gasped.

> "That's… Sasuke-kun?!"

Uchiha Sasuke raised his training sword. Though it had no blade, it worked just fine as a staff.

With swift, precise strikes, he took down the group one by one. They screamed, howled, and ran—none dared fight back.

Who was this guy?

One of the core figures in the battle that overthrew the previous Mizukage.

Close ties with Logan and Terumi Mei.

Who in Kirigakure had the guts to fight him?

As they fled in terror, screaming "Sasuke, spare us!", Sasuke raised his wooden sword and shouted after them:

> "If I see you bullying others again, I'll break your legs next time!"

Once they were gone, Sasuke crouched down beside Naruto and extended a hand.

> "Been a while…"

Seeing Naruto's pitiful state, Sasuke chose his words carefully—he didn't want to hurt his pride.

> "You're still… as charming as ever."
