Lyra stared at the reporter's foot still planted firmly on her cherished photograph. Her chest tightened with fury as he smirked, refusing to move.
"What exactly are you going to do about it?" he taunted, grinding his heel deeper.
The corridor fell silent. Even the other reporters seemed to hold their breath.
"Last chance," Lyra said, her voice unnervingly calm.
When he only widened his smirk, something snapped inside her. In one swift motion, she lunged forward, shoving him with enough force to send him stumbling backward into his colleagues. The unexpected attack caught everyone off guard.
Lyra dropped to her knees, snatching up the now-mangled photo frame. The glass had shattered completely, several sharp fragments jutting outward. She picked up the largest shard, holding it up to catch the harsh hallway light.
"Back off," she warned, rising to her feet. The glass glinted menacingly in her hand. "All of you."
