Chapter 1 - Genesis

Hello?!

Her call was trembling, but unfortunately, the only response he received was an echo of her own voice.

Gennie was terrified, gazing around her. Since she woke up, all she could see were trees. She had no idea how she had ended up in such a place.

She tried to calm herself and muster her courage, recalling how and why she ended up in a place with no one around.

The towering buildings and the noise of vehicles in the city were no longer audible or visible to him, as if the place had suddenly vanished like a dream.

Dream?

Exactly!!!

How did I fail to consider that? I'm such an idiot.

It dawned on her abruptly that she appeared to have regained consciousness. As she came to terms with the fact that this was all a dream, her terror gradually subsided. Although the anxiety was still there, she simply took a deep breath and looked around.

The clarity of the surroundings as though he were in reality astounded him. He went aimlessly, curious about what his dream may reveal. As he passed past the trees, he noticed that the area felt so real that even the breeze made him feel light and fresh. He didn't comprehend how frightening the situation was because he thought he was merely dreaming.

She knew something was wrong with her after walking for two hours. She wasn't panting as quickly as she used to, as if she'd suddenly grown stronger. The place's antiquity grew more apparent as she moved more and farther away from her current location. She smiled without realizing it. Never in her life has she experienced such tranquility.

Being reared in an orphanage after being abandoned by her parents, Gennei is living alone. She entered the entertainment world after being recognized for her ability and good appearance. There has always been competition and conflict in her world. Despite her fame, she feels lonely when she is in front of the camera. She was desperate for love, so she embraced her celebrity status. She believed that being loved and admired by most people would make her happy, but that did not happen.

She may be a celebrity, but being behind the camera brings loneliness. She loved being a celebrity since she was looking for love. However, she did not experience the happiness she expected if she was admired and loved by the majority.

Gennei paused and wondered if what she was hearing was correct. Then she started walking, following the sound of the water flowing. The gloomy area started to get lighter. She was astounded to discover a stunning waterfall when she finally arrived and realized what she had anticipated. The place's splendor made her feel as though she was in a fairy tale, and an absurd thought flashed through her mind for a second. She wished to remain in this location rather than wake up from reality but then shook her head at the idea.

Sigh...

Dreams really are amazing, but no matter how beautiful a dream is, if it's not true, it's still useless.

She sat on the rock with both feet submerged in the water and watched the whole place with satisfaction. The fish in the water that didn't care about her presence, the chirping of the birds, and the flow of the water felt like heaven to her. The very light and pleasant feeling she felt cleared her mind and body as if all the fatigue throughout her life had suddenly disappeared.

Later, she was taken aback when she noticed that the reflection she saw in the water had made her look several years younger. This was her face when she debuted in the entertainment industry. All of the difficulties that come with becoming an actress started at that point. The pressure, envy, schemes, and everything that would bring her down were overcome by using people. Given that her background was not that strong to begin with, what she went through while acting was no laughing matter. She wanted to give up several times but was unable to do so. Rather, she gave herself to prove that she could stay and become her own backer. She took a deep breath and shook her head at the sudden memory. She simply closed her eyes and felt the moment. Her body and mind were both overwhelmed by the freshness, which cleared her mind from the distraction.

A few moments later...

"Perhaps she will now accept you."

"That… sigh."

Ehh?! Gennie glanced around in surprise when she heard what sounded like two individuals chatting in the distance.

Interesting…

Gennei quickly hid to observe the approaching people. She scratched her head when she realized that she was just in a dream.

Forget it.

She was annoyed by the thought that this could be the time at which someone would disrupt her perfect dream. How unfortunate.

"Brother, just put in some good words for me when the time comes."

When one of them said something she could not comprehend, she frowned. She observed two men walking toward the lake. Both of them had huge bodies that looked like they had been bathed in the gym. They both had arrows slung behind them. Their naked upper body had this bronze luster that added to their allure. At first glance, the two appeared to be barbarians, but upon closer inspection, she could already tell that behind their bloodied, filthy visage was a face even models would be ashamed of.

What on earth am I thinking? Shaking her head at what she thought was absurd. Who knows? Maybe when these folks see her, they would make her a tribute to some sort of a god since they appear to be part of some tribe based on their vibes.

The one who spoke with a language that she didn't understand was carrying a red fox, while the other was carrying something that resembled a goat and a pig.

The two began to strip after setting their prey aside when they heard a peculiar sound in the distance. They both turned toward where Gennei was hiding.

Gennei, on the other hand, hid herself in astonishment while still covering her lips, trying not to scream in fear. She isn't usually bothered by seeing a man's physique because she's used to it. What bothered her was—

Ssss...

Shuu... She whispered as if she were trying to chase something away. Your presence is definitely not needed here. Why now?

Don't come here, please. She said as if she was about to cry, hoping that the snake wouldn't come straight to where she was. But it was as if fate was testing her because the thing she had prayed wouldn't come near her actually crawled towards her. Every hair on her body stood on end in fear, and she couldn't help but scream while trembling. She quickly left her hiding place, picked up a large rock, and threw it at the snake. After being struck squarely in the head, the snake stopped moving and probably lost consciousness.

Phew… wiping the sweat that dripped down her forehead.

Something seemed strange.

Realizing it, she immediately turned to face the two men. They both appeared to stand motionless as they gazed at her. She swallowed nervously and smiled forcefully in an attempt to not alert them.

It's over. In her mind, thinking that this might be the part where her adventure in the dream comes to an end and she wakes up in reality.

What she didn't know was that the two men were frozen in their places because they couldn't believe what they were seeing. They had no idea what an angel was, but at this very moment that term was formed. When they saw her gorgeous face and curvaceous form, their worlds came to a halt. At the moment, her immaculate body was visible through her white nightgown. Never in their lives had they seen such a beautiful woman. She is even more gorgeous than the most attractive woman in their tribe. Forget about comparisons because no portion of her body can be compared to any other woman. Coupled with the beautiful scenery, she seems to fit in the picture.

If only Gennei knew what they were thinking. Perhaps she'll roll her eyes at the exaggeration because her beauty is not really rare. Yes, she is stunning, but as a celebrity, she is not alone. She was unaware, however, that their responses were not wholly unjustified because her beauty was truly extraordinary. But she won't know that till later.

After a long period of stillness, the two guys felt something hot trickle from their noses, waking them from their reverie. They both approached Gennei slowly, thinking the same thing: they wanted to be hers, hoping that the woman would at least make them her slaves.

Perhaps Gennei would respond, "Who wants to be your owner?" if she could hear what they were thinking. You... You burly men, you want to be slaves; are you mad??

Gennei took a step back as the two men approached her. Her first thought was to flee because they were approaching her in such a frightening manner. It was as if they were both staring at their prey. She turned abruptly and screamed as she ran away from the two as they got closer.

The woman's response caught both of them off guard. They were usually not the least bit bothered even if a woman treated them with contempt, but her fearful expression disheartened them.

"Wait!" the man holding the red fox prey exclaimed. However, Gennei ignored him and continued to run even faster despite his calls. They hurriedly followed the woman, fearing she would be wounded. The two of them were familiar with this forest; only they knew which side was the most dangerous, and unfortunately, that was the direction Gennei ran.

Gennei despised the fact that she was running slowly. Huhuhu, why are all dreams like this?

It hadn't even been ten minutes, yet the two were getting closer, as if his two steps were a single step for them. Her pace increased as she ran until she was hardly able to stand. In her dread and nervousness, she didn't notice that her feet were already covered in wounds from running.

She felt like crying in frustration when she noticed that neither of them had the intention to leave her alone. The two men were still following Gennei and also accelerated their pace as if they were messing with her.

I'm worn out!!! WAKE ME UP!!! ... She screamed in her head as she ran breathlessly.

Eh??!

How could I be exhausted?

Aren't I in a dream?

In a moment of confusion, her feet slipped, and she fell to the ground. She winced when she felt her knee hit the rock. Eh? Why did it hurt?

RAWRRRR!!!

She lifted her head when she heard that dreadful sound. In the distance, a massive bear was glaring at her with a ferocious expression; its bloodied face appeared to be the result of a brutal struggle. She was in utter tears at her predicament. She's not reconciled with the fact that her dream began so nicely and ended in bloodshed. Despite the fact that she could feel pain throughout her body, she clung to the hope that she was merely having a dream. Anyone in her shoes would genuinely feel the same way.

When she heard the two coming toward her, she let out a sigh of relief. She'd rather be caught by them than ripped apart by a bear. She shivered at the prospect, picturing the pain if it ever happened.

Upon sensing the two men beside her, her vision gradually dimmed, and she passed out. All of the emotions she had experienced in just four hours overwhelmed her fatigued body, resulting in her current condition.
