Chloe found me hiding in a corner of the dining hall, trying to become invisible behind a large potted plant. Her eyes widened when she spotted me.
"There you are! I've been looking everywhere for you!" She rushed over, grabbing my hands. "Are you okay? That whole scene was insane."
I shook my head, still feeling the burning sting of humiliation. "I'm fine. Just hiding from the circus out there."
"Well, you missed the aftermath. Adrian Valois was furious." Chloe's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Like, scary furious. He ordered his Beta to launch a full investigation into Olivia and her family. Then he stormed out of the dean's office looking for you."
My heart skipped a beat. "Looking for me? Why?"
"I don't know, but he seemed pretty concerned." She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. "Your boss has quite the protective streak."
I felt heat rising to my cheeks. "He was probably just worried about a lawsuit or something."
