Chapter 23 - 1.3 fleeting chase

Modern Period, Third Era, Aven Era — Mis, 18 Mes 910 AC

10:30 – On a plane, heading to Xin

Aliss is sleeping soundly. She needs to recover all her energy before the finish.

The pilot finally announces a change of route: "We will make a stopover in the Unidom land, on the central continent. »

Despite this, Aliss still sleeps, preserving his strength.

---

At the same time, in the Unidom land

A man runs in a park in the city center.

He wears a light blue blazer decorated with a stylized red heart, dark blue outline, flesh-colored sleeves and collar, matched with black striped flesh-colored pants.

Exhausted, he sits down when his phone rings.

- Hello ?

Cellphone: — Daryl… your "in-laws" managed to lose your little sister.

His dark brown eyes turned incandescent red. For a moment, his true nature threatens to emerge—but dragons are strictly forbidden from revealing themselves unnecessarily. He controls himself.

— Father… I just wanted to pamper a little sister. But she is no longer there. You want me to find her, right?

Cell phone: — You bring her home. Not with the other family. We will take care of it. You will be his guardian.

- All right. I was already his guardian. I'm bringing her back. And I will make her... whatever she should become. In my hands.

---

3:30 p.m. – On board another plane

Aliss wakes up. She is always surrounded by sleeping men.

She draws her Joker card 🃏 from her hand, closes her eyes and whispers a wish:

— I am in Drelons.

---

2:15 p.m. – Daryl arrives at the airport

(Time is not linear in this passage, which seems deliberate in your universe.)

Daryl waits, ready to catch Aliss as soon as she comes out.

But she never comes out.

He calls immediately.

"Father… she lured you.

---

4:00 p.m. – New phone call

- Hello ?

Cell phone: — We found her trace: she took a boat.

— Stop. We won't catch her. And... I feel like she's already too far gone. Don't you find that strange?

---

4:30 p.m. – Aliss, on a plane heading to Xin

She is still sleeping, recovering an abnormal amount of energy.

---

19:00 – Xin, eastern continent

Aliss finally hits the ground, leaves the airport and walks. She doesn't take a taxi.

The streets are deserted, cold, strangely silent.

A shiver runs down his spine.

- Shit…

The shadows are rising. They merge, take unstable forms and rush towards her from all sides.

Aliss projects energy into his feet. She jumps, runs over a wall at high speed — but one of the shadows touches her.

Thrown, dragged, she crashes near a fountain.

Other shadows are already falling on her. Impossible to escape.

---

In his mind

Three chairs.

She, a woman, a man — blurred silhouettes.

The woman shows him a chair.

[Don't worry about them. ]

In the real world, time seems to have frozen.

A shower of golden lights falls, destroying the shadows with surgical precision.

"I will not return to this house, mother. Father.

His voice is cold, sharp.

— Leave me this time. I promise we'll see each other again. At least grant me this wish. This is the only one I ask of you.

A sigh, a hesitation... then they accept and disappear.

---

Later

Exhausted but determined, Aliss arrives in front of a shop selling antiques and remedies:

Dragon Eyes

She pushes the door open, a discreet smile on her lips.

— Glad to see you again, professor.
