Terri woke the next morning after a restless sleep. She rolled over and opened her eyes. She jumped.
"What are you doing in my room?" She exclaimed. She tugged her blankets up to her chin to cover herself.
Andrew Palouski was sitting at her desk.
"I was told to come tell you that we have a meeting at 12:30 then private class at 2:00 with our mentors." Andrew replied with a smirk.
"How long have you been in here?" Terri asked being careful to keep her chest covered. She had picked the wrong night to wear her panda pajama top with spaghetti straps to bed.
"Since about 9:00."
"9:00, oh my god, I missed class." Terri looked around frantically to find the clock. It read 7:15 AM. "It's only 7:15." She replied rolling her eyes at him.
He rose and shrugged. "I didn't say 9 AM did I?" He smirked, then walked to the door turned gave Terri a wink the strode out the door.
Surely, he is playing with me. He watched me sleep all night? What a creep! Terri thought to herself as she rose from her bed. She went quickly to her door and locked it.
Terri showered, dressed, and then headed out to her first class of the day.
Terri's day was structured as follows:
8-9 AM English
9-10 AM Math (which she hated)
10-11 AM History
11-12 AM Science
12-12:30 lunch
Terri enjoyed her English class the most. English had always been her favorite subject. She also loved Miss Jeffers.
Terri walked around the corner of the main building to her locker. There semester saw Eve and Andrew talking across the hall.
"I have English am with Miss Jeffers first period. Then, history, Math, the last I have Science." Eve was telling Andrew.
"Who is your teacher for History?" He asked her.
Terri couldn't help feeling a bit jealous. She shook her head. What was she thinking?
"Mr. Anders." Eve replied.
"That's who I have too. I'll save you a seat. Hey, Terri." Andrew said waving her over. "Eve wants to compare schedules. She doesn't know anyone else yet." Andrew motioned toward Eve.
Terri finished grabbing her things and walked over.
Andrew then waved and bowed to the ladies and headed off down the hallway.
"He is creepy." Terri told Eve.
"He seems nice to me." Eve replied looking down the hallway after him. She smiled.
"If you say so." Terri replied.
"So, what's your schedule?" Eve asked her.
"I have Englis, Math, History, then Science." Terri replied.
"Oh good, we have English and Science together." Eve looked relieved as she said it. "That means I'll only have to fend for myself when it comes to Math. Do you know where English is?"
"Aren't you a junior?" Terri asked Eve.
"I haven't always been kept in normal schools because of my," she looked around, "abilities." She whispered raising her eyebrows. "I should be a junior but im behind in some classes."
"Oh, okay. Well, do you have Miss Jeffers for English?" Terri asked her starting to walk toward class.
Eve fell into step next to her. "Yes!" Eve said with a bit to much excitement. She linked arms with Terri as Terri led the way to Miss. Jeffers English class.
Eve grinned from ear to ear as they walked down the hallway.
Terri thought about it and decided it was probably hard for Eve to keep friends moving around and being behind in classes. Terri usually liked to keep to herself, but she guessed she didn't have much choice now but to let Eve in.
