Chapter 71: learning to use an axe
Coincidentally or specifically he arrived here on Sunday. So he has 6 more days before he can enter a fantasy world. So during this time he did two things. One is to earn points and the second is to go to the axe wielding classes.
He did take good amount of rest. Even though he is a soul he still needs rest. In the infinity city he is no different than living as a normal human being. Naturally he is also feeling the same. He has good cooking skill and he plans to use that to earn some points.
After exercise his body would be exhausted and he has to rest. He can feel hunger, pleasure and even pain. Technically he is a living being between the living and the dead at this place. This body is strange and it is like that.
Vicky cooked a big meal and ate it with gusto. Even though he is alone it did not make him feel lonely. Life is lonely for anyone and he is simply like that. It is the same always. While eating he made some decisions about learning things.
Learning to use axe is good but it might be a world that is not an urban world but a world filled with magic or some other world. Still he decided to learn axe and also make a specific weapon he liked.
It is a spear that has pointed tips at two ends, it can be split into two short spears, and it has a lotus locking system that can bend to the sides. This way it can be turned into a bow as long as proper string is attached.
Other than that below the spear tip there are two sharp axe heads like a double headed axe on both sides. So it is a multipurpose weapon. For that he has to learn archery, axe wielding, spear wielding and also the short spear double hand weapons as well.
So he decided to learn axe wielding first to start. In 7 days he would prefect his basics. He also learnt to wield the axe but it is not that proficient but just barely passable. So he went to the training area and paid the points to register for free class and has a test.
The test is to see how much he has learnt and based on the results of the test he can learn the things he is weak at. This kind of thing is easily connected and he first got a demo from a soul body from ancient times.
Yes the teacher here is someone that is already dead and is proficient in specific thing. They would serve here as teachers because of their expertise and use it as a means of repaying their negative karma.
It is especially so for those souls of worriers that fought in wars. It might be good or bad but killing is wrong. Here there are two paths of division. First are the people that killed others for defense. Yes they are defending so they are not completely wrong.
Second are the people that are on the offensive. That is the worriers that went to conquer other lands and kill those defending people which are a wrong thing to do. They would be punished severely with the accumulated negative karma.
The one that is teaching Vicky right now is one such worrier that has fought in real battles. So he is more experiences. Vicky is not that low he killed people before and his hands are stained with blood. But it cannot be compared to real worriers that trained systematically.
Also a simple fight is different than the scene of the war. So he barely managed to train well and after the assessment he found that he was unable to clear the basics. This is an honest judgment and there is no lie in this place.
After all everything is monitored and the ghost worrier that is doing the assessment is under the special spell that would make him give the truthful answer. So he directly paid the money of 3000 karma points to enroll for the classes in axe wielding.
For the next 6 days he learnt it carefully without many distractions. He doesn't know what kind of world he would enter next. All he could do is to wait patiently to see what would happen and act accordingly.
He was sure that he might not be able to enter another fantasy world with magic immediately. He enquired about this matter and he found that the magical world or power worlds would rarely appear.
Most of the fantasy worlds are quite short from a week of time for survival to a few months and a maximum of a year. Rarely, they will be sent into a fantasy world that let them stay there for years like the Harry potter world.
He understood this and did not have many preparations. He has three items with him but they have big restrictions for usage. One needs karma points to recharge or it can only be used limited number of times in the fantasy world.
First of all, the invisibility cloak, it requires 100 points per hour to keep the invisibility to work. It can be recharged early in the infinity city or after entering the fantasy world.
Second is the resurrection stone, there is no recharge required but it can only be used two times and other than Vicky it can be used on only one other person that takes up the quota of two chances.
Third is the time turner, it requires 100 points to go back in time once and the maximum time you can go back is within 24 hours of present. He can get up to 5 chances of returning back in time. Also he only has 1 slot to take the items into the fantasy world. Yes the number of slots where you can take items is also very less.
