-CHAPTER 6-
- FUSHIGURO MEGUMI POV-
Okay… so your CE reserves do reflect on how the Shikigami look and how strong they are. This was the only conclusion that I could arrive at as I looked at Nue whose main body was the size of a small car with an even bigger wingspan.
I concluded that because I had more CE and my thinking and interpretation of the technique was very different than Megumi's- the Shikigami of my Ten Shadows were also different in small ways to represent my change.
But I shrugged. It honestly doesn't make that much of a difference to be honest, in fact this is only better because this means that I'll get more exciting fights and much stronger Shikigami later on.
Honestly I hadn't thought of anything beyond the obvious that I could do with Nue right now, she was great at basically everything. Utility, Support and Attack. Maybe I could think of something after I've tamed some more Shikigami. But despite that, Nue was probably my most powerful Shikigami in a one-on-one battle. The only reason Gama was able to run circles around it was because Nue couldn't attack it and because its tongue attacks were very powerful and fast now.
Let's get back to work though. I thought as I stretched taking out another metal bat from my shadow (because they keep getting destroyed after each battle). My CE had grown decently in the fight against Nue. Not as much as it had against Gama but it was probably because this time I had played smarter and hadn't used all of my CE reserves.
"[Gama]" I summoned Gama while keeping Nue at my back and Divine Dogs in reserve. The strategy I had prepared required both of these because the next one was probably going to be really tricky.
It was Max Elephant. I know it should be the Great Serpent or Orochi but he is enormous and would probably destroy this whole warehouse with his attacks so he'll have to wait for some other time guess…
Let's get started. I performed the hand signs that when looked at in the shadows with light would look like an elephant. '[Max Elephant]"
The shadows in front of me bulged as a huge, and I mean huge, at least a big truck sized pink elephant with yellow markings on its body with long tusks and powerful legs roared as it came rushing out of the shadows straight at me.
"NEIGGHHHH!!!!"
Not expecting the Shikigami to be that big, I hurriedly ordered. "NUE FLY!" and the owl-like Shikigami grabbed me by my arms using its talons and took flight just missing the gigantic charging elephant by an inch.
"Screech!"
I guess that confirms that my Shikigami are going to have some differences…. But it seems that the elephant wasn't keen on giving me time to think as the next second it aimed its trunk and its mouth bulged as it quickly charged up a beam and fired at us. "DODGE!" I yelled.
SPLASH!
WHOOOSH! The torrent of water chased us as Nue tried and dodged it, albeit with water making her wings wet, making her unable to use her lightning without damaging herself, and taking out her flight.
I quickly landed, unsummoning Nue and summoning my wolves. "[Divine Dogs]"
""HOWL!!!""
"I guess we'll have to fight on the land for now. Gama will provide support." I furnished my metal bat reinforcing it with CE. "Let's hunt boys." And we charged at the elephant who was recovering from firing such a powerful blast of water so quickly. I remember in canon it took at least a few seconds for the elephant to charge the water beam but I guess in return for a longer recovery period, it can decrease the time it takes to charge the beam.
I smiled, marveling at the intelligence shown by the Shikigami.
While both the wolves attacked it from the sides, quickly jumping up at its sides to use their sharp claws. I reinforced my legs and jumped straight at the elephant's head, Gama used its tongue to push me and give me even more momentum. I pulled back and charged the bat with my CE and hit the elephant Shikigami with the full force of the combo.
BAM!
CRACK!
The Shikigami cried in pain as its head tilted from the force of the blow, but the pain only enraged it more than the damage, while the wolves' attacks were unable to even penetrate its tough skin, and it quickly used its trunk like a hand to catch me.
Fuck! I became too overconfident! My eyes widened in horror before-
BLAM! BOOM! BLAM! BOOM! BLAM! BOOM! BLAM! BOOM!
-and then it started using me like a play doll and beating me up by doing what Hulk had done to Loki in the first Avengers.
My Shikigami were automatically unsummoned because of the damage done to me. Reminding me for the first time ever that in the end they could only support me and would disappear if I took too much damage or was too tired.
Which had never happened to me till right now…
The elephant Shikigami kept on using its trunk to repeatedly slam me into the ground.
