On the other side, Vegeta could no longer suppress the desire burning within him. He flew abruptly toward Axis, his gaze scorching as if ready to burst into flames. His tone was more serious than it had ever been, laced even with a trace of pleading.
"Axis! Teach me! Teach me how to turn into a Super Saiyan 4!"
"Didn't I already tell you the method? Besides, the brighter the artificial moon gets, the more I have other matters to attend to, so stop bothering me. Go down there and attempt the transformation yourselves," Axis said as he shook his head.
It was so annoying. Should he fight Goku and Vegeta, or fight the God of Destruction?
"I understand. It seems you don't even consider my current strength, or Kakarot's, worth your time. It really pisses me off." As a Saiyan, Vegeta understood Axis's intentions the moment he saw the look in his eyes.
Just a moment ago, Axis had treated the two of them as opponents, but upon sighting the God of Destruction, his gaze had immediately shifted to the deity.
"Vegeta, let's wait a moment. If Axis is going to fight Lord Beerus, I want to watch the battle before we leave," Goku said as he flew over.
They could practice the Super Saiyan 4 transformation at any time; after all, their tails had already grown back. However, a battle between Axis and Beerus, the God of Destruction, was not something one could witness every day.
"You, kid. Do you want to fight me as well?" Beerus looked at Axis and asked.
He was indeed a formidable rival. Unlike the perception of others, Beerus could clearly sense that Axis was no ordinary Saiyan. In fact, he was no longer a mortal at all.
He had thoroughly brought himself to the realm of divinity, officially becoming a god of the Saiyans. This was completely different from the Super Saiyan God transformation mastered by Goku and Vegeta; it was a higher-tier, far more potent power.
Even Vegeta's ability to transform into Super Saiyan Blue was due to a little private assistance from Whis, yet compared to a God of Destruction, he was still far behind.
"Don't get me wrong. I do wish to fight you, but not right now. I know clearly that fighting you at this moment would be meaningless." To everyone's surprise, Axis shook his head and rejected Beerus's proposal.
Although fighting a God of Destruction would be interesting, the time was not yet right. Axis had his sights set on someone else.
Before comprehending the energy of Destruction, Axis intended to integrate his own divine power with his Super Saiyan power. Therefore, he required an opponent who was evenly matched, not someone stronger than himself.
Everyone followed Axis's gaze and found him looking at Goku and Vegeta.
"Oi, oi! Even if those two brats attacked you together right now, they wouldn't stand a chance against you. There is no comparison at all," Beerus remarked.
What was going on? Just when he had developed a slight interest, this kid had actually refused.
"Oh my. Lord Beerus, it seems his target isn't you, or rather, his target will be you only later on," Whis commented from the side.
This young man had significant foresight. Although he was also a god, there was a hierarchy among deities.
The Gods of Destruction reigned above almost all other gods, and Lord Beerus was a powerhouse even among the Destroyers. The only one capable of rivaling Lord Beerus was the Mouse God of Destruction.
Axis did not wish to engage Beerus at the moment because even among the Gods of Destruction, this cat was top-tier.
In the Dragon Ball Super manga, a battle had once broken out between the Gods of Destruction during the exhibition match organized by the Omni-King. The result saw Beerus and the Mouse God of Destruction as the last two standing. The Clown God of Destruction likely held back, appearing to hide his true strength in the manga, but regardless, their strength was paramount.
Although he yearned to cross fists with Beerus, Axis decided to wait a little longer.
"Suit yourself. I just stretched my muscles and I feel like going back to sleep anyway. Whis, let's go," Beerus huffed, clasping his hands behind his back and turning away.
"Yes, Lord Beerus. Well then, everyone, farewell." Whis waved to the group, then tapped his staff, instantly transporting himself and Beerus back to the God of Destruction's planet.
"Axis, that's such a pity. The fight between you, me, and Vegeta could have happened later! A battle with Lord Beerus isn't something that happens every day," Goku said as he flew over, a look of regret on his face.
He truly felt it was a missed opportunity not to see Axis fight the God of Destruction. However, the thought of transforming into Super Saiyan 4 and then integrating that with the Super Saiyan God power filled him with excitement.
"I have incredibly high expectations for you two. One-on-one, or even teaming up, you truly aren't enough to fight me. This remains true even if you transform into Super Saiyan 4 and integrate the power of Super Saiyan Blue. However, there is an opportunity. I know you possess a technique called Fusion, which allows two people to merge into one. The resulting strength undergoes a pretty big change; it is not merely one plus one, but a geometric increase. I want you to use that technique against me," Axis explained.
He was different from the Broly of the Dragon Ball Super universe; that Broly utilized the power of the Great Ape in human form. Axis possessed the physique of the original Broly.
The Dragon Ball Super Broly had higher potential, but Axis was the Legendary Super Saiyan, not the Great Ape-powered Broly. Although acquired post-natally, Axis's current strength certainly exceeded that of the Super universe's Broly.
The Legendary Super Saiyan transformation, in its initial stages, was only equivalent to a standard Super Saiyan 2 level. If it went to Super Saiyan 3, the Goku from the movies wouldn't have stood a chance.
Axis, in his Legendary Super Saiyan mode, could easily defeat the previous Goku and Vegeta. However, after their near-death recoveries, their combat power had risen sharply, allowing them to rival his Legendary Super Saiyan 3 form.
Of course, they were definitely no match for Legendary Super Saiyan 4, as the power difference was in a different league.
Even if they both turned into Super Saiyan 4, it wouldn't be enough, as compared to Super Saiyan God, or Super Saiyan Blue, the raw increase wasn't drastically superior, and integrating the two powers would take an unknown amount of time.
Therefore, the best opponent right now was naturally their fused form, Gogeta.
Just how strong was a fused Gogeta?
His base Super Saiyan state was enough to rival Broly in his berserk Great Ape Super Saiyan form. Once transformed into Super Saiyan Blue, their powers existed in completely different dimensions.
"That technique certainly exists. So you want me and Vegeta to fuse and then fight you, correct? In that case, it is indeed feasible. After we fuse, our combat power will explode to an unimaginable realm." Goku nodded in agreement.
The only regret was the thirty-minute time limit. Of course, fusing via the Supreme Kai's earrings would extend the time slightly, but the energy consumption of the Super Saiyan Blue state meant that Vegetto wouldn't be able to exist for very long either.
"Hmph! You're overthinking it. I will never fuse with that clown Kakarot," Vegeta scoffed.
"You two owe me a massive favor," Axis pointed out. "During the fight earlier, I was guiding you constantly, and I even used precious Fruit of the Tree of Might to help you recover from near-death and become stronger. Repaying me a little shouldn't be a problem, right?"
"I'm fine with it, of course. Vegeta, don't be stubborn, let's fuse," Goku said.
"You can attempt to transform into Gogeta. Since Vegeta possesses the power to control the Great Ape form, you can look directly at that artificial moon, turn into Golden Great Apes, and then master the Super Saiyan 4 transformation. That way, it benefits you by further elevating your strength, and I can have a more enjoyable fight," Axis suggested.
Cultivating these two individually was too slow. Bringing Gogeta out, having him go Super Saiyan 4, and then Super Saiyan Blue, that would be satisfying.
Vegeta gritted his teeth and huffed.
The Prince of Saiyans was annoyed, but Axis was right; he owed a sky-high debt of gratitude.
"However, we can use the earrings to fuse. I refuse to perform those dance steps with you; it's absolutely disgusting," Vegeta said.
Fusion wasn't out of the question, but performing those nauseating moves with Kakarot was something he absolutely could not accept.
So, it had to be the earrings.
"Alright then. I'll go to the Supreme Kai and get the earrings right now." Goku nodded and prepared to use Instant Transmission to leave, but Axis stopped him.
"The Potara earring fusion is indeed powerful, but the one I want to fight right now is Gogeta. We can talk about Vegetto and the like later," Axis stated.
Having come to the Dragon Ball universe, he absolutely had to fight Gogeta first. Before the release of the Dragon Ball Super timeline, Gogeta had long held the ceiling as the number one combatant in the Dragon Ball world.
Anyone who had watched Dragon Ball GT knew just how overwhelming the pressure of Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta was upon his debut.
When fighting the evil Omega Shenron, Gogeta was completely toying with him, treating him like a child, fighting with wild abandon.
Vegetto had suffered a setback during the Goku Black arc, but ever since his inception, Gogeta had never suffered a defeat.
Moreover, Axis wanted to seize this opportunity to copy the Fusion Dance technique. He had the concept in his mind before and had wanted to ask the Goddess of Life to try it, but he hadn't been sure of success. Now that the genuine article was in front of him, he naturally wanted to find a way to learn it for free.
