"Ren!" Yuta cried out in relief when he recognized the familiar face. His heart was still hammering from being grabbed.
"You scared me," Yuta scolded, but the seriousness in Rene's eyes had him asking. "What's wrong with you?!"
Ren glanced around nervously.
Other servants moved through the vast corridors, going about their evening duties. But for some reason, the hairs on his body prickled, he could feel eyes on him even though he couldn't find who was watching.
For the past few days, Ren had discreetly followed him.
Kai.
Or rather, the creature who was wearing his face. What he had discovered behind that shed still left him shaken, only to return to the servant quarters to find Kai there, still alive.
Ren had thought he was going crazy, but he hadn't been dreaming either, that dead body had definitely belonged to Kai.
