Chapter 44 - Chapter 44; The story

The three girls were still holding Raizo tightly, their tears soaking his shirt as if letting him go would make him vanish again. Fenra buried her face into his chest, her claws lightly trembling, while Silvia clung to his side, her light green eyes shimmering with disbelief. Shekiah stood behind them, her arms wrapped around both Fenra and Raizo, silent tears streaming down her face.

The entire inn had gone quiet—completely still except for the sound of their sobs. Adventurers who had witnessed countless battles and deaths were frozen, unable to comprehend what they were seeing. Then, one of them muttered, breaking the silence.

"H-How did he… survive?"

"Yeah! Didn't he fall into the Forest of Alscort?" another spoke, stepping closer.

"That place is a death trap—no one ever comes back alive!"

"Did yhe… make a deal with something down there?" another spoke "that forest is a abyss"

The crowd pressed closer, surrounding Raizo. Their questions came fast, relentless, like arrows:

"How did he come back?"

"Was it luck? Or something else?"

"What happened in that forest?"

But Raizo said nothing. His expression was calm, almost unreadable, but his silence only made the crowd's curiosity grow stronger.

Fenra, noticing his distant look, pulled back slightly, her tail lowering. "Raizo… what's wrong? Aren't you happy to see us?"

Silvia, her voice soft but trembling, added, "Yeah, Raizo… you can tell us anything. Don't… don't keep things from us."

Shekiah's green eyes locked onto his face. "We thought we lost you forever. Whatever happened… we're here. You can talk to us."

Raizo let out a slow breath, closing his eyes for a moment. When he opened them, there was a spark of pain and determination there. "It's not that I'm not happy," he said. "I am… more than I can say. I really missed all of you."

The girls' grips tightened on him.

"But," he continued, voice low, "something happened down there that you need to know."

---

The noise in the inn faded as Raizo began his story. He spoke of Lloyd Shoni, a name lost in time, a man who had left behind a legacy of impossible power. He told them of the five demon kings—not myths, but real threats whose shadows loomed over their world. He described the Gem of Resurrection, an artifact capable of bringing back the dead, and the strange weapons and artifacts he found while being hunted by a monstrous viper.

By the time Raizo finished speaking, the room had gone silent again. Adventurers stared at him, some wide-eyed with fear, others skeptical, and a few clearly unnerved. Even the innkeeper had stopped wiping mugs, frozen mid-motion.

Then, one adventurer scoffed. "So you're saying this… Lloyd guy… told you about five demon kings? Hah. Yeah, right. Next you'll say dragons live under our beds."

Another crossed his arms. "And what's this garbage about a Gem of Resurrection? That's impossible. Artifacts like that don't exist."

"Can you shut up and let Raizo explain?" Fenra snapped, her voice sharp enough to cut through steel. Her ears were flattened, her fangs bared, and the entire room fell quiet again under her glare.

Raizo sighed. Without another word, he reached into his item box and pulled out a weathered, leather-bound book. "You want proof? This is it," he said, holding it up. "Lloyd Shoni's diary. Everything I just told you is written here."

He turned to Silvia. "Would you read it?"

Silvia blinked but nodded, taking the diary carefully as though it were a sacred relic. She began to read aloud, her voice trembling as the words painted vivid pictures of Lloyd's battles, his unmatched power, and his final warnings about the demon kings.

When she finished, the silence that followed was heavier than before.

"…Wait," Silvia whispered, her hand trembling as she clutched the diary. "When I was a child, I heard stories about a man who didn't need incantations to cast spells. People said… he was called Monster. Could it be…?"

"Yeah," an older adventurer said uneasily. "I heard that story too. But my parents said he wasn't human. They called him a monster and dragged me away when I tried to see him."

Raizo didn't speak. His hand tightened on the hilt of Voidbringer, but his brown eyes eyes stayed calm.

---

After a while, the crowd dispersed. Some adventurers whispered excitedly, rushing to the guild to talk about what they had heard. Others remained wary, shooting Raizo questioning glances.

Fenra, Silvia, and Shekiah were still holding him, their relief and joy overwhelming. They were about to leave for the guild when Raizo spoke.

"Wait," he said firmly. "You three—come with me."

Confused but curious, they followed him to the backyard.

With a flick of his wrist, Raizo summoned a heavy chest from his item box. It hit the ground with a dull thud, and when he opened it, the girls gasped. Inside were strange artifacts, their surfaces glowing faintly as though alive.

"These," Raizo said, "are what I found."

Each girl took one of the necklaces, placing it carefully around her neck. Raizo wore the blue one, and as soon as the artifacts touched their skin, a voice echoed in their minds:

"Gluttony shared to those connected."

Fenra's ears shot up. "What… what was that?!"

"You heard it too, right?" Silvia asked, wide-eyed.

Shekiah nodded, gripping her necklace tightly.

Raizo explained calmly, "These artifacts allow me to share one of my abilities with those I trust. You now carry a fragment of my Gluttony ability."

Fenra shock "Raizo is this your ability" Raizo smile.

"So can we do the same thing as we kill a monster there stat or magic elements will be ours" Silvia voice nervous,

Raizo rub his hair " how do I explain this " Raizo close his eyes his calm voice begin to spoke "This artifacts whenever I kill the stat of a monster I kill we be shared to all of you and you can do the same"

Shekiah shaking hearing it "so we can be a powerful to" Raizo nod.

"There's something else," Raizo said. He raised his hand, focusing. "Fireball!"

A ball of blazing flame erupted from his palm, soaring into the sky before exploding in a shower of sparks.

The girls stared, stunned.

"…Did that just happen?" Shekiah murmured, rubbing her eyes.

"It's like what the diary said," Silvia whispered. "You… learned chantless magic?"

Raizo nodded, smiling faintly.

"Teach us!" Fenra said without hesitation.

"Wind Cutter!" Fenra shouted, but nothing happened. Silvia smirked, shaking her head" how cute."

"Shut up!" Fenra growled, cheeks flushed.

"Breaking Swipe!" Shekiah tried next—also nothing.

Silvia laughed softly, only for her own attempt at "Gale Arrow!" to fizzle entirely.

"You're no better," Shekiah muttered.

"Okay, okay!" Raizo laughed, holding his hands up. "Magic like this isn't about shouting. It's about feeling. Imagine someone you love is in danger and you must protect them."

Fenra closed her eyes. To her surprise, the first image that came to her mind wasn't her family. It was Raizo—bloodied and falling. She clenched her claws, heart pounding. "Strengthening!"

A soft glow wrapped around her hands.

"She… she did it!" Silvia gasped.

Soon, both Silvia and Shekiah succeeded, their weapons glowing faintly with enchantment.

"Congratulations," Raizo said warmly. "You've all unlocked chantless incantation."

"Now, there's one last thing," Raizo said, drawing Voidbringer.

The girls watched in awe as it transformed—sword, spear, shield, dagger, even a bow—its shape shifting as if it were alive.

"How… how is that possible?" Fenra asked in amazement.

Raizo explained about the weapons he had found and how Voidbringer had absorbed them.

"So you can turn it into any weapon now?" Silvia asked, wide-eyed.

Raizo nodded. "Exactly."

"That's… insanely cool," Shekiah said, whistling.

Raizo smirked. "Alright. Let's head back. We have things to do"
