Chapter 132 - Chapter 131: The Task of Cutting the Red World!

It wasn't that Beerus genuinely wanted to treat Xiangpa and his crew with kindness or hospitality.

No, the real reason was much simpler—those delicacies from Earth had already been brought here, and if no one ate them soon, they'd go to waste.

And Beerus hated wasting food.

More importantly, he wanted to eat them.

That's right. Beerus was simply greedy.

However, with Xiangpa present, eating everything alone was impossible. There was no doubt Xiangpa would sniff it out, both literally and figuratively. The guy had a sixth sense for good food. So, Beerus came up with a plan—he'd make it look like a grand gesture of hospitality by sharing the food with the people of Universe Six. That way, he could still enjoy the food while pretending to be generous.

Sure, he could have waited until Xiangpa and his group left to eat everything himself. But there was a problem with that approach—those Saiyans from Universe Six might take days to fully learn the transformation techniques.

And if that happened, knowing Xiangpa's shameless persistence, the guy would absolutely insist on staying until the teaching was complete.

Beerus could already imagine the headache.

There was no telling how long this so-called "group event" would drag on. It could last days or even a week. So, better to eat now than regret it later.

Under Xiangpa's eager and practically drooling gaze, Beerus nodded to Whis.

"Bring out the Earth delicacies," he ordered.

Whis gave a small smile and opened a dimensional space, retrieving tray after tray of food: grilled skewers, fried dumplings, curry rice, okonomiyaki, roast duck, sweet-and-sour pork, and even desserts like mochi and taiyaki.

Even before a single bite was taken, the rich aromas wafted through the air.

Just the smell alone made Xiangpa's mouth water uncontrollably. Compared to the instant noodles from earlier, these new dishes made the previous meal seem like a joke.

Before Beerus could even comment, Xiangpa was already digging in like a starved beast.

"You glutton! At least let me finish talking first!" Beerus scolded, glaring at him.

But despite his words, Beerus didn't stop him. In fact, he grabbed a plate himself and began eating.

The rest of the group quickly followed suit. Soon, the gathering became a feast of satisfied slurps and content sighs. Everyone indulged without restraint.

After the meal, they rested briefly. As the sun began to set, the group decided that formal training would begin the next day.

The Next Morning

Jack sent a message to the group:

Jack: @All members, there's a new mission. Check it out.

Krillin: Already? I didn't expect a new mission so soon.

Piccolo: @Krillin, has Universe Six arrived at your location?

Krillin: @Piccolo, yeah, they arrived yesterday. But since it was already late, we agreed to start official training today.

Tien Shinhan: So you're the one training them, Krillin? Have you already assigned instructors?

Goku: Not exactly. We couldn't agree on who should teach, so we decided to each train one-on-one and see who's the most effective.

Tien Shinhan: That's actually a smart approach. A little competition to see who can teach the fastest.

Beerus: Alright, alright. Let's put the training discussion aside for now and look at this new mission.

A video popped up on the interface. It showed two figures engaged in a fierce battle.

One of them was a giant, towering figure clad in heavy, intimidating armor. The other was a relatively normal-sized human—perhaps slightly taller than average—but still dwarfed in comparison.

Interestingly, both combatants were wearing armor, though one was clearly piloting some kind of enormous mechanical suit.

"Tatsumi, stop! What are you doing to your own country?!"

A high-pitched, slightly immature voice boomed from within the larger armored figure. It was clear that the speaker wasn't an adult—likely a child or at most a young teen.

Despite the childish tone, the voice was filled with rage and desperation.

"Night Raid... this is the retribution for your crimes!" the boy shouted from within the mech.

"Night Raid," and "Tatsumi"?

Just hearing those names was enough for the experienced members to understand the world this mission came from.

Akame ga Kill!

Also known as "Red Eyes Slash World."

Jack's knowledge of this world was minimal at best. When the anime originally aired, he had intended to watch it. But unfortunately, a friend spoiled the ending.

They told him that nearly every main character dies—including the male protagonist.

That alone had been enough to turn Jack off from watching it.

The grim tone of the series, where even the hero doesn't survive, was a bit too harsh for Jack's taste. Though it was rare and bold for an anime to kill off most of its protagonists, Jack preferred lighter stories.

Later, he learned that the manga version had a different ending. Although many characters still died, at least the manga spared Tatsumi's life.

Still, in the context of thug missions, the source material was almost always the anime, not the manga.

And based on the visuals, this particular mission was centered around the final battle: Tatsumi versus the Emperor of the Empire.

The Emperor, inside a monstrous mechanical Teigu known as Shikoutazer, launched a devastating strike at Tatsumi.

Tatsumi narrowly dodged and dashed forward, his eyes blazing with fury.

"You involved innocent people! What kind of Emperor are you?! What kind of protector destroys his own people?!"

"Silence!" the Emperor roared. "The Empire has stood for thousands of years! I will not let it fall on my watch!"

"Yes! Well said, Your Majesty!"

From a platform nearby, a fat old man in luxurious robes clapped gleefully.

It was Minister Honest, the man truly responsible for the Empire's corruption and suffering. His manipulation of the young Emperor had led to the nation's decline and countless atrocities.

His encouragement was poisonous. It was under his influence that the Emperor chose to activate the Empire's strongest Teigu and turn the capital into a battlefield.

"Millennia of rule mean nothing if they come at the cost of the people!" Tatsumi shouted, rushing at the mech.

But his attacks barely left a scratch.

"Do you think being Emperor is easy?!" the Emperor snarled. "Every day, I carry the weight of the entire Empire! What do you know about that?!"

He swatted Tatsumi aside with one mechanical arm, sending him crashing through a stone building.

Shikoutazer was no ordinary machine—it was the apex of all Imperial Arms. Even with the Emperor being a child, the power of the Teigu made him a terrifying opponent.

"No one asked you to bear that burden like this!" Tatsumi shouted as he rescued civilians from debris caused by the earlier strikes.

His words cut deep, and for the first time, the Emperor hesitated.

He looked out over the ruined imperial capital. Whole buildings had crumbled. Fires raged in every direction. The cries of the wounded echoed through the smoke-filled air.

The Emperor's grip on the controls faltered. Guilt crept into his heart.

But then...

"Your Majesty! Don't listen to him!" cried Minister Honest. "He's trying to confuse you! Stay strong! If you waver now, everything we've fought for will be lost!"

In reality, it was Honest who had twisted everything.

He was the real snake, manipulating events from the shadows and turning the Emperor into a puppet for his own ambitions.

"You're right… Yes… I must stay strong!"

Emboldened by Honest's words, the Emperor's heart hardened once more. The hesitation vanished from his eyes.

"Don't look away, damn you!" Tatsumi roared.

He launched himself forward again, determination burning in his veins.

But this time, the Emperor caught him mid-air in Shikoutazer's massive grip.

The mission preview ended there, leaving only the image of two ideals in brutal conflict.

---

Jack: This world looks like a total tragedy. It's darker than usual.

Whis: Indeed. It seems the mission objective will revolve around choosing a side or saving certain key figures.

Vegeta: Tch. That Minister guy… I already don't like him.

Krillin: Do we know if this mission is a rescue type or an infiltration?

Jack: Not yet. More details will unlock once the portal opens.

Beerus: As long as it doesn't involve food shortages, I'm fine.

Xiangpa: Hey, hey! I just hope this mission isn't as emotionally exhausting as it looks. I came for a good time, not existential dread.

Everyone laughed at Xiangpa's complaint, but deep down, they all understood this mission might be one of the more serious ones.

There was no guarantee of survival—not even for the "heroes."

But then again, that's what made these missions worth doing.
