Cultists who secretly worshipped the entity sowed rumors: that the royal family guarded not a curse, but a treasure capable of solving all of Averon’s problems. Desperation grew. A rebellion broke out. In the chaos, a group of rebels broke into the sacred chambers and shattered the seal. They realized too late that the whispers were lies. The darkness they unleashed began to consume everything. The Prince of Averon confronted the being, but it was too soon. Though weakened, the entity was clever—and before it could be destroyed, it cast the prince into the distant future.
